Skiball, fooseball, cornhole and Sopranos pinball — what more could you want? This place is toward the end of the bar district and is often overlooked. The inside is HUGE and feels a little empty. Not a lot of décor or seating. Great space and cornhole outside. Now I LOVE a good dive bar but this place is just a little too unkempt for me. The chairs outside are pretty dry rotted and there are some dangerous corners of the outside bar. And some of the wood inside sticking up in places that could cause you to trip. Overall this place would be good for groups because it’s so open, but it should be a stop on your crawl not a destination to hang for the night. I think«meh, I’ve had better» is an accurate description. Pro tip: $ 4 bloodies on Sunday’s.

I came to Mulligans for the first time with some friends to listen to live music. I don’t spend much time on the Kentucky side of the river but I enjoyed the vibe here. It’s very much a pub, no frills, no pretense, and a very relaxed vibe. It was the perfect place to chill, have a few drinks and listen to some good music. The drink selection here is pretty good. You won’t find fancy cocktails on the menu but they have a decent beer selection and the price is really great. There is limited seating here however, and it can feel crowded fast. The service was good and the bartender was personable. I would for sure return.

Mulligan’s is usually a safe bet. Most of the time it’s not too crowded and you can actually get a drink there in record time versus some of the more populated Main Street bars. It’s just at the end of the Main Street circus, and often it’s a relaxing alternative. My friends and I go there to play darts or shoot pool. You can put money in the jukebox and actually hear your songs within a reasonable amount of time. As for the negative: Sometimes it smells funny, and not in a «ha ha» way. They have an Irish look about them — shamrocks and whatnot — but no Guinness on tap. WTF is that about?

I ended up staying at Mulligan’s for a good hour or so on a Saturday night out in Main Strasse– it was totally unplanned, but after coming in and out of several crowded and smokey bars, Mulligan’s was a nice spot to hang out. It’s definitely a dive bar with average drink prices. There is nothing fancy going on but there is a back room with a pool table, and the high ceilings makes it feel pretty open and spacious. It’s a good, low-key place to have some drinks, and seems slightly off the beaten path of the usual Main Strasse crowd.

Mulligan’s is one of many bars located in the Main Strasse district in Covington, KY. It’s not the prettiest bar, the popular or even the most interesting but it’s comfortable and mostly friendly. The last few times I stopped by to Mulligan’s, it was during festivals so the bar was packed with the usual mix of 20 – 30 something area residents. The wait for the bar was far too long. On slower nights this is a great place to shoot some pool or darts with friends.
