Tried the Jamaican jerk chicken burrito with watermelon salsa. It was ridiculously delicious and filling. The service was wonderful and the pricing was more than fair. The atmosphere was adorable and everything was very clean. I might become a regular…

Definitely not great. I was craving Chipotle and since I live in Mainstrasse I figured I’d try Lime instead of driving to Clifton or Buttermilk Pike for Chipotle. The only worker was on his cell phone the entire time I was there, as in literally talking on the phone while making my food. I got the fish tacos and the queso and chips, the queso fresco was obviously spoiled and the queso definitely came out of a jar. Not impressed at all. I guess next time I’ll know just to drive to Chiptole.

My trip to Lime had me wishing for a certain chain burrito shop… That makes me sad. I got the jerk chicken burrito with pineapple salsa. I walked away felling like there just wasn’t enough stuff in it. It was about 75% rice and meat. I wanted more variety of flavor… salsa, cheese, guac, beans, veggies, etc… The owner is great and service was excellent, but I’ll still head to the chain in the future.

Very friendly owner(who is also a very accomplished chef) and some great food. The patio is perfect for chilling with friends and devouring a burrito. Enjoy it while the weather is still a little warm. I think there was free WiFi too.

After work on Friday I headed to Covington for dinner at Lime Taqueria. I had a LivingSocial coupon that was expiring the next day and I needed to use it before leaving town for the weekend. I looked up the address ahead of time and realized it was basically in the MainStrasse village. As many times as I have been to that part of Covington, I never once noticed Lime. Once I parked outside the restaurant I realized why I had never noticed it before, the signage doesn’t stand out at all, and the building looks more residential than commercial. The inside of the restaurant is the complete opposite with bright lime green walls and plenty of wood accents throughout. It is a very small space but still has enough room for a few tables inside, as well as outside on the front porch. My wife, son, and I were greeted by the lone employee upon our entry. I told him about the coupon we had, which was for 2 burritos, chips and dip, and 2 iced teas all for only $ 9. He took our order and said he would bring the burritos out to us when ready. We decided to have chips served with queso(normally $ 3) and sat outside so that our son could run around while we waited for the food. The serving of chips and queso was large enough to share between two. I don’t think the chips were made in-house, but they were fresh and the queso was pretty good. I would have much rather tried the guacamole, but it wasn’t an option with our coupon. My wife chose the jerk chicken burrito with smoked tomato sour cream and cucumber watermelon salsa(normally $ 6.50). She seemed to enjoy the cucumber watermelon salsa, but it did very little for me. Both of the ingredients are pretty bland themselves, so it didn’t do much for the burrito. The chicken was good, but I definitely could have used some added flavor. The beans, rice, and sour cream just didn’t do enough. I ordered the BBQ pork burrito with pineapple salsa, pickled red onion, and ancho sour cream(normally $ 6.50). I thought this burrito has a little more flavor than the jerk chicken, but again it could have used more spice. The pineapple salsa was better than the cucumber watermelon combination. Though not as large as burritos from Chipotle, they are still of pretty decent size. The staff member that I met couldn’t have been nicer, and I like the idea behind the restaurant. However, I don’t think I’ll return for more burritos unless I’m already in the area and looking for something quick to eat.

I didn’t love Lime. I wanted to. I love the IDEA of Lime. We actually came here last Final Friday to get away from the crowds in OTR. And I love Mainstrasse, I love eating outside, I love the little front courtyard and everything. But I didn’t love the food, and I think that is kind of key. I don’t remember what I had. Some sort of burrito. I do remember asking them, «I can’t decide between the fish taco and the ___burrito, what do you recommend?» And they recommended the burrito, so I got it. I do remember a lot of rice and beans, and I don’t really like rice & beans on my burrito so I should have thought of that and had them take it out. So that’s my fault. But I don’t remember anything else about it. Oh – it was pretty big, I thought. So if I would have liked it, it would have been a good deal. Since I liked everything but the food, I’d probably go back to give them another shot. But for now… not a fan.

Cute, locally owned burrito placed has that small business feel. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The menu is concise and there are options for vegetarians. Outdoor seating available. Alright, to be completely candid, this place deserves more stars. I really mean that. It has a great location, cool menu items, is locally owned and I love the general vibe. It’s just… the burritos aren’t knock-your socks off fantastic. If you’re looking for a burrito, you got it. If you’re looking for something to write home about, try some of the other options in Covington.

I kept seeing the restaurant on my Unilocal app when searching Mainstrausse for something to eat but never happened to see it when venturing around the area. It wasn’t until my fiancé and I drove around Mainstrausse, twice, we finally found it. It’s a very hidden spot, and if you blink, you’ll miss it. The fish tacos are great for lunch during lent or dinner during the summer when it’s too hot to eat anything heavy. However, the menu is actually quite small. Two soft tacos will run you about $ 6. One burrito costs $ 6.50 and if you would like drinks or chips and salsa, or queso, it will be an extra $ 5 or so. The queso dip is alright with a mix of yellow and white cheeses, and some chopped bell peppers, and it is pretty spicy. When you try this place, I would try to keep it for lunch with one or two friends, or a date. It’s very small on the inside and most of the tables only seat two people. And remember not to blink while driving down Main Street, or you’ll miss it!

I didn’t think it was possible to hide a restaurant in plain sight, especially in the energetic Mainstrasse portion of Covington. But I was proven wrong when searching for Lime. I had an address but when I got close, no Lime. My friend and I decided to park in the giant parking lot across the street and see if we could find it on foot. When we got back to the street, we realized the white house across from Bouquet was no white house, but Lime Taqueria! (They have a metal sign hanging above the door, but it is very hard to see. Mostly look for the lime green door. That’s how you’ll know you are in the right place.) Lime is tiny. Tiny, tiny. One room with the open kitchen right behind the counter where you order and a few tables around the space. We were actually the only ones in there so finding a table to sit in was not a problem. I get the feeling, though, this is more of a spot to order your food to go. Either way, though. They didn’t mind us sitting for a while and doing some work while we ate. Matching their small space is a small menu, but it is a good menu for sure! Five different types of burritos, two different tacos and some chips and salsa. And they were tasty. I got the chorizo tacos for $ 6.50 and they were fresh and delicious, a nice mix of savory and a little sweet with mandarin salsa and pickled radishes. Really damn tasty! And the chips and salsa were a nice add on at $ 2.50. I liked this spot. The food was hot, fast and tasty. They’ve been open for a while but still have that hidden gem feel to it. This is great because it’s easy to get food but not so great if they close down due to lack of business. So go support them and get yourself a taco.

This weekend my husband and I walked through Main Strasse to see if there were any interesting places to discover. We had an amazing hot chocolate at Groove Coffee House. We walked by Lime Taqueria and didn’t even realize it was a restaurant! So I guess my first point is that you kind of need to know about this place, otherwise you’ll be likely to walk past. When my colleague proposed to go for lunch today and we realised Riverside was closed on Mondays, we decided to try out Lime. The first impression was a good one, the interior is minimalistic but cozy — with one wall all painted in lime color(or what did you expect?). I tried a barbeque pork burrito and thought it was delicious. I’m not much of a spicy food lover so it was perfect for me. I can imagine that other people would want it a bit spicier though, but there were lots of sauces that you could add in case you wanted to. My colleague had the chicken mole burrito and really liked it too. We also tried out the guacamole and that tasted amazing! The staff was really friendly, enquiring us about what we thought about the food. I really enjoyed my meal here, there was no pressure to leave, we could just continue talking as much as we wanted to. The portions were big, so for only a bit over $ 6 I had had an amazing lunch in a cute little spot!

What a cute Mexican restaurant, snuggled in Mainstrasse. The only thing it’s missing is a lunch time rush, which I hope Unilocalers can help them out with. We were the only ones in the restaurant for the entire hour I was there, which is a crying shame when you realize how fresh, flavorful and delicious the food is. Swarm this place, please! Let’s make sure it’s around for years to come!

After hearing such great things about Lime Taqueria, I was super excited to come here for dinner. We walked up to the door. «CLOSED.» Huh? It was dinnertime on a Saturday night. Why would a restaurant in the heart of Covington be closed? The clock said 5:30, and apparently Lime Taqueria closes at 6:00. Still, I figured we would have been able to enter and get a quick bite. Having gone out of our way to eat here, it was a huge disappointment to find out they weren’t open. C’mon, you’re in Mainstrasse, a village that is most alive on weekends and the evening. Why would you close down?

I love Lime. Simple selection of Burritos and Tacos, made on the fly, and with extremely fresh ingredients. Their salsa is delightful and the guac is off the hook. Lime stands out amongst the other burrito joints. Not only do they use alot of their own grown veggies, they also offer healthier wheat tortillas and brown rice. Throw on top of all this a fun and friendly staff and you’ve got a great lunch or late night burrito. #Ganar.

Ok. I’ve been back to Lime 4 times since my first visit – I’ve tried each burrito, but haven’t tried the fish tacos so I can’t say I’ve «comprehensively» tried everything on the menu, but I’ve had MOST things on the menu. I love the concept. I love the staff. I love the water bottle and pretty little lime cup. I even like the chips — who cares that they’re from a bag, they’re either Garden of Eatin’ or the other organic brand that I buy at the market! They’ve even put the salsa in a better cup. Still just enough for one, though. But…here’s the thing. I have found the burrito’s – all of them – to be just downright bland. The descriptions are so freakin’ tempting, and when I take a bite, for me, it’s a total let down. Yesterday, I had the Black Bean, Roasted Poblano Salsa, Ancho Spiced Tofu burrito, with Chipotle Sour Cream. The«buzz» words here: Roasted Poblano, Ancho Spiced, Chipotle. I swear, there was nothing in this burrito except something creamy and a ton of white rice. Those 3 peppers should make that burrito pop with a smoky, spicy depth. I only ate half because even the tofu was murky with watery texture. I blame the rice for providing entirely too much moisture. I wrote previously about cooking for the masses with spice, and I think that could be an issue, here, too, but I’m also wondering if it’s because everything is sort of «mixed together» that you don’t get the separate flavors you’re longing for from the tantalizing descriptives. Having given the whole menu a go(with the exception of the fish tacos) I can honestly say it’s not a destination place for me. Because I love to support local businesses and I love the concept, this is a real bummer.

Alright, so… Lime Taqueria. I have some friends who have been devotees since the place opened. And then I read an appetizing write-up in «Cincinnati Magazine» so I’m thinking Lime is definitely worth a try. And it is. Walking up, Lime is so cheerful and inviting. Their storefront, with its punchy green door and surrounding green space, is eye-catching and welcoming. The space within is minimally furnished and aglow with natural lighting. Moreover, the outdoor seating is tailor-made for afternoons like the one on which we visited. Please note, the door is not the only green thing about Lime. In the courtyard, they’re collecting rain water in big blue barrels which they use to irrigate the garden that grows the vegetables for their food. Believe me, you can taste the freshness in their salsa. Also, the décor wasn’t the only inviting element of Lime. The guy who greeted us AND constructed our burritos was friendly and efficient, a one-man Tex-Mex wonder. For the value, Lime is phenomenal. It’s less expensive than Chipotle and WAY tastier. Their salsa was out of this world. It was fresh and spicy and so flavorful. The tomatoes were bright and the jalapenos gave the salsa some zazz without upstaging the other flavors. In addition, the burritos were super tasty. My husband had their special while I tried the BBQ pork. The special was everything a ground beef burrito should be and more. It was savory and supremely satisfying. All in all, I liked the BBQ pork but expected more after reading the description on their offerings board. The ancho-chile sour cream was so abundant that it drowned out the flavors of the pickled onions and pineapple salsa. The pork was nice and tender and the black beans were well-cooked. But, the pineapple salsa wasn’t as sweet and the pickled onions weren’t as pickled as they could have been. Perhaps it was simply the gratuitous amount of pork, beans and sour cream which were so plentiful that I delighted in the rare sightings of onion. Regretfully, the pineapple salsa was almost nonexistent; so much so that I forgot it was supposed to be present until I remembered to lament its absence. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking Lime. Just the opposite, I implore you to give them your business if you’re in the area(as opposed to going to some chain). You will receive a FAR superior meal for LESS money and it will be served by friendly locals who truly care whether or not you enjoyed your food.
As for destination dining, they have some work to do. Whenever I’m in the area though, and I’m craving a burrito(which is, let’s face it, like all day, every day), Lime is definitely where you will find me.

I stumbled into Lime Taqueria the other day while trying to find some rest from the crowd of people coming down to Main Street for Geotta Fest. I was lured into this cute little corner restaurant because of the atmosphere at first. People were sitting on the patio outside enjoying some chips and guac underneath the unique«Lime» sign hanging in the entry way. I quickly realized that this place was not only cozy and hip, but the guac and chips looked amazing from where I stood. It didn’t take long for my taste buds to confirm how refreshing and tasty the food I saw really was! The seating is limited inside, but the space is inviting and open. There is a casual sensibility to it, and though you order from the counter, the burritos you eat are anything but basic. I ordered the fish tacos were perfect for a foodie soul. It was made with tilapia, cabbage and pickled red onion and with cilantro crème. The service was quick and friendly. I was in and out with my order in less than 10 minutes, which gave me more then enough time to enjoy the patio under a shady tree. I will definitely go back for a quick fix any day of the week.

You can’t beat the location or ambiance of this little nook of a restaurant. Nestled on a side street in Mainstrasse this house turned taco haven is just the absolute cutest! With a neon lime green door(I mean come on!) and some great outdoor seating I loved everything about this cute taco joint. The food was reasonable priced aside from the sides($ 3 for guac and chips is a little much) and they were accommodating for my dietary needs, making my burrito into a salad. I liked that they offered some different burrito & taco options, including fish tacos and a veggie burrito with grilled zucchini and caramelized red onions, although their menu wasn’t extensive. I went with the above veggie burrito(turned salad) and thought it was great! It had the right amount of kick to it and the cilantro sauce was absolutely delicious! The best part about them is definitely the cutesy touches. They served us our water in a large glass carafe/bottle and allowed us to self serve – adorbz! It’s definitely worth checking out and was a great, light meal for the right price!

I’m a total sucker for cute restaurants in houses. Anyone who reads my reviews with any regularity probably can tell. Lime is an adorable little restaurant in an adorable little house in Mainstrasse. You really feel like you are walking into a friend’s house… but to order a delicious burrito. The service is really friendly, the burritos are fresh, healthy, and so good. A lot of the ingredients are fresh and(I think) home grown. The price is great for the quality and the burrito is just enough and not too enormous. I also love the patio seating in the front and back. It’s a small place with limited seating, but I’ve never seen it filled up and I would guess that the bulk of the business is carry out. So glad to discover Lime, since it’s right near my office. I suspect I’ll become somewhat of a regular.

Recently went to this small but cozy shop on Mainstrasse in Covington, KY and enjoyed myself. but I like that the owner(s) operate the restaurant and are very friendly. They clearly are working to make something cool and local for the residents living nearby. I overheard while here something about picking fresh cilantro, which I appreciate. The place is rather small, they keep some pretty late hours so that bar patrons can come up the their window and order their burritos. I haven’t seen this operation in full swing during a busy night so I’m not quite sure how they will handle the rush but it was pretty calm in the afternoon. I could see that this very small burrito shop could be overwhelmed by a moderate to large group of burrito-seekers. I will have to revisit during this time to see how it is handled. There isn’t a huge variety but the burrito I had was cheap and very good, and the small menu has a lot of variety. Including a barbeque pork burrito and a jerk chicken burrito. They offer Jarritos sodas as beverage options as well as cups of filtered water. It’s a small operation but I like it.

I hate writing negative reviews for new places starting off. I really wanted to like Lime, and hopefully if they see this review they can take it as constructive criticism rather than as an attack. First of all, the space is great and the intentions are spot on. Locally owned burrito spot with cool décor, friendly people and choiceful menu. I also appreciate that they’re open until 3am on weekends(for now) The food was a major disappointment. Lets start with the beef burrito with mango salsa. While tender, the beef was almost completely flavorless and the rice was so disintegrated it turned into a complete pasty mush. The salsa had almost no flavor too. They definitely need to amp up the spicy quotient. The chips are clearly from a bag, which is fine, but for $ 3 i’d think we could get a little more as far as portion size for both the cheese and guacamole. My friends tried two of the other burritos and had equally sub par experiences. Maybe we caught them on a bad day or even a bad batch. Maybe its how it is every time. Either way I hope they get it figured out. also i hope they get a grill and start serving actual tacos beyond fish.
