The exterior of this place appears a bit uninviting; however, once inside one feels quite «at home». The staff is friendly and outgoing. The food is very good. The value is good. Speaking as a Texas brisket snob, this is one of a handful of places outside of Texas where I thoroughly enjoy the brisket.

This is my neighborhood go to BBQ spot. Admittedly I’ve tried only a limited number of the items from their menu, but virtually everything has been top-notch. Having said that I wasn’t particularly impressed with the ribs. Appearance-wise they weren’t what I was familiar seeing. The ribs lacked the typical coating of mahogany colored caramelized sauce. They also (on orders less than a full slab) individually cut the ribs alternating one from each end. The short side ribs portion of my order were 90% fat and gristle. So go with the pulled pork and you can’t go wrong.

Tried to patronize, but was unsuccessful. Finally gave up after waiting over 40 minutes on a very, very simple order. They weren’t crowded, and it’s not like there were a lot of people coming in and leaving with takeout. I get that it’s not fast food, but that kind of turnaround with no real explanation isn’t reasonable. They did apologize and refund my money.

After driving by this place for months, I finally stopped in. It was FANTASTIC. Got a combo plate with brisket and pulled pork. Had okra and beans as the sides. Brisket was melt in your mouth tender. You can tell sauce is homemade too.

My wife and I tried this place Friday and we’re not disappointed. We both got the pork plate. The Mac and cheese was ok and the fries were generic, but fine for what it was. The star was the BBQ, which was really good. There were three sauces to choose from. The original and sweet both hit the mark. There was a spicy sauce I didn’t try. Friends from out of town got te brisket an loved it. The service made you feel a home. Good local christian business. High rating for service and meat.

I got the ribs like I planed and they were awesome. They had a great smoke taste. This it the only place that has actually had the smoke taste. I didn’t even need any sauce. We got the last two racks and it was two hrs till closing time. Make sure you get them earlier!
