I survived Rubi’s Zumba Class in 2012!!! But just barely. Can you? Get through the routine for«Dirty Bit» at the end of a 60-minute session, and we’ll see how badass you are?!? Seriously though, she rocks, this instructor Rubi G. I had observed Zumba from afar since a studio opened right next door to my work. I thought to myself, maybe I’ll try it one day. Hip hop and R&B are more my speed, but I had always wanted to pick up some Latin steps after a nice experience at a Salsa club a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. What really convinced me to take the plunge and try Rubi’s class was her musical playlist. It’s eclectic enough for me to actually enjoy myself dancing all-out and possibly looking like a fool in front of all the women there. I’m happy to report to you that Rubi’s routine to PSY’s «Gangnam Style» is pretty damn cool! Apparently, she took Taekwondo when she was younger, so she decided to add her bit of Korean martial arts kicking flare! Your glutes, thighs, and calves will be on effin’ fire. The Latin steps are challenging! The moment I think I’ve figured out two 8-counts, boom, she switches up on me! *shakes fist angrily* Take an individual class, and it’ll cost just $ 4. Purchase ten in advance, and she’ll give you 10 classes for $ 30, which brings it down to just $ 3 per class. Ask her about something called The Z Club, and you’ll get even more stuff. Personally, I’m not looking to purchase Zumba thongs and shimmy belts for myself. Ditch the workout, join the party, indeed.
