Urban Retreat is one of the best kept secrets. I hesitate to praise them as my beloved masseuse Ronnie will be too busy to take me!!! But I must let the secret out. Their prices are amazing. Join the club, it’s the best way to go. My first visit with Ronnie was one that I was so messed up she had a lot of work to do and work she did. I now come in for maintenance and can’t live without her and her wonder touch. She’s a highly trained massage therapist and reads your body and designs her massage to exactly what your body needs. She’s an amazing person who really cares about her clients’ needs and I highly recommend Ronnie and Urban Retreat. You will not be disappointed. Just don’t make your appt. on Sunday because then I won’t be able to get in LOL… Take good care of your body and it will take good care of you. Massage isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity! Bless you Ronnie and Urban Retreat for helping me be the best me I can be.

I came here for a massage for my sisters birthday… Angela was amazing, consistent pressure and focused on problem areas. It was relaxing, refreshing, and left me in Zen… and icing on the cake… They bought my sister a little cake for her birthday… great product and great service.

I haven’t been to urban retreat in a long time ever since my girl corinr left It ust hasn’t been the same. today I had really bad pains in my legs from working a lot and so I decided to go in. I ended up getting Cynthia she was okay nothing spectacular doesn’t really find your sore spots just kind of does the normal routine of a massage I don’t feel that it was very personalized I don’t feel that I feel any better than when I walked in although I am $ 60 shorter than when I walked in. I definitely feel disappointed and more than likely will not go back the price is just too much for what I got and to be honest the $ 20 Asian massages I walk out feeling relief in my muscles. I don’t feel any relief today again I would not recommend it I think urban retreat has definitely gone downhill

I was referred there by a friend when my shoulder was in so much pain. The first few times I went there I had Cynthia give me the swedish massage. She was good but a bit robotic in technique. I later had Marie work on me and she was great. 6 months later I had Cynthia again and she has fine tuned her game. No more robotic she has alot of finesse in her work ethic. I have been very happy with the work of these two lovely ladies… I am sure any staff member there is excellent since Marie does the hiring so she can rate any employee.

First time here Cynthia was my massage therapist. From the start I felt welcomed and I knew it was going to be a great experience. I was right! I got the Swedish and hot stone massage. I felt so relaxed!!! Aaaaaahhhh so good Thank you

Urban Retreat has a Great Esthetician! Looking for Marlen Harmouch. She is the BEST! She uses all natural products, gives you the best facials. Most of all, she is able to diminish your dark spots. She has been working on my dark spots and they are disappearing, getting light and shrinking. She also helped my son with his acne. She gave him two treatments and NO MORE acne. His face is clear!

I’ve been to urban retreat on 3 occasions… twice alone and the most recent time I took mu boyfriend for a couples massage… i dont know why this place has such bad reviews I was really surprised to see that but its probably because most people only write about the bad things and not the good things. so I would say this place is great! Place is clean, staff is friendly and massagess are great!!! I would definitely recommend this place! :))

I love Urban Retreat. I’ve been going there for years. I’ve never been disappointed. My only complaint would be and as another reviewer stated, the prices went up last minute. I was told after my massage and not before. I will continue to go there, but if they continue to raise their prices I may research other local places.

I was in desperate need of a massage but couldn’t afford one of the fancy spa places. Urban retreat is a clean and simple no frills business. I’ve had 5 massages at this particular place with a different masseuse each time and each time I leave relaxed and knot free.

I signed up for the membership a long time ago, but didn’t use all my sessions. I started coming back to use them up and I’m glad I did. My back feels better now!

I love to read the reviews on Unilocal whenever I am looking for a restaurant or service provider, but have never really felt compelled to write a review. WELL, I decided it was time to set the record straight. Urban Retreat is a great, clean, no fuss kind of place. When I think of relaxing, this is exactly the place for me.
I was referred to Claude Movsessian, Chiropractor extraordinary by a friend in 2009. Dr. Claude is amazing. I have been a loyal client ever since. Dr. Claude is located in the Glendora/​Covina Urban Retreat. After a few adjustments, I tried a combination massage for 60 minutes, with Carinne Ratijczyk. My massage was wonderful. Carinne is a true healer; she loves to work on the knots in your neck or back. I always schedule a message before my adjustment. My adjustments are smooth and I never experience any pain after.
This place is totally worth the price with REALLY affordable treatments. I have been fully satisfied with both the Chiropractic and message services and highly recommend Dr. Claude and Carinne.

I have had her deep tissue massage and it is GOOD.
I have never had any other «Spa» treatments here, other reviewers seem to indicate they are not really set up for that.
Also, the chiropractor there is great, Dr. Claude. He has fixed my back on more than 1 occassion, and he is not expensive. Also, not the «cracking» kind of chiro… he uses this trippy chair thing that is, well, trippy, but it works.
Sometimes, the front office service can be somewhat awkward, and the location is a bit nasty next to a low-​rent market/​liquor store. (No biggie, just park right there and run inside) But get past that, and your in for a bargain and a relaxed back.

I wanted to share my experience with the spa finder system AND Urban Retreat Center. I found and booked an appointment on Dec 27 for the 30^th on
since I had $ 125 in gift certificates. The package was listed at $ 155 for 2.5 hours. I did not get the confirmation email and didn’t recall the spa name. I logged back in but the system does not show bookings, though it should. So I called customer service. They don’t have access either. However they did suggest I look in my browser history. That helped figure out the spa name. I called Urban Retreat and confirmed that they had the appt. I was told yes. I showed up and I gave her the gift certs before we began (as stated on the sign at the front desk). I was told by the massage therapist that she didn’t have a robe available though I was expected to leave the room twice to shower off the scrub and mask. I let her know I was displeased and she came up with one. It was also extremely cold in the building (the room was warm) The rest of the appointment was fine. At the end she said the certs covered the appointment. What I booked and what I received was very different. I was there less than 2 hours in full. As you can see by the emails below (I copied the text) I was sent a cancellation 5 hours AFTER my appointment I was then sent a confirm for an appoint for a 1.5 hour service @ $ 95!!! They collected $ 125 + I tipped her $ 25! I do not plan to utilize either of these businesses again.

Urban Retreat Covina/​Glendora

I have gone to many different massage places. This is my favorite so far. I have gone to just about all of the different people there. The latest one I went to was Jim, and he was WONDERFUL. I also like Marie and Sheila! love love love!

This rating is because of Cynthia! I’ve been going to Cynthia for over a year now. 1 hour Massage is always great. She takes her time, works on the area’s you ask — always walk out feeling brand new. Book your session with Cynthia — you won’t regret it!

Did a Google search for the Covina Ca location. Checked the pricing $ 65 deep tissue and $ 55 combo. Booked a massage for my wife and I. Got to the spa. Sign in the window said $ 45 massage. Sign inside said up grade to a deep tissue massage for $ 20 more. Still $ 65. After we got in our rooms we found out the prices went up by $ 10. We decided to leave and go to ZenZone in Glendora and got a great massage for $ 55.
Urban Retreat should think twice before they raise prices in this economy.
They also need to update the internet and correct their instore signage.
