Great public transportation on Whidbey Island(Free! Free! Free!). Schedules are reasonable and give consideration for those commuting to work in either Everett or Seattle. The drivers I’ve had are considerably more friendly AND the riders too(both are important in my mind). The downsides are that there’s no Sunday service. Also, be flexible with times. Give yourself 10−15min buffer as rarely do the routes stick to the schedule.

Island Transit is awesome. Sure, there a few drivers who aren’t so nice, but on the whole, the Island Transit system(on Whidbey Island, sine that’s what I have experience with) is probably one of the best bus lines I’ve been on. It’s free, 90% of the drivers are friendly and helpful, as long as it’s safe drivers will pick you up just about anywhere along the route, and it’s generally unlikely that you’ll be accosted by someone drunk and/or tweaking. It’s almost never on time, but as long as you’re aware it’s nearly always ten minutes late, it’s not so bad.

Island Transit is pretty decent. The drivers are pleasant and helpful. The best thing, though, is it is free! No needing exact change, or tokens, or bus passes. It is paid for by levies and bonds. It would be better if the website was easier to navigate. The bus is rarely on time, but mostly because there are a lot of special needs folks, and the drivers are pretty insistant on making sure they’re safely secured in their wheelchairs and whatnot. If I needed that kind of attention, I’m sure glad they provide it!
