I’m a total Hy-Vee fan… doesn’t matter which I go to, I enjoy going… always have gotten friendly service and the prices are pretty reasonable… Granted, certain ones may have things the others don’t, but overall Hy-Vee is probably the better grocery store choice… and now they seem to deliver, so that’s a total bonus…

This place is conveniently close to I-80 and we stopped at their in store Starbucks on the way out and on the way back from a family trip out west. I was also impressed by the variety of food options with pizza, deli, sushi, bakery, etc.

The main reason I come across the river to shop at this Hy-Vee is its great beer selections, some beers which are not available in the Omaha market. It has a better than average build it your own six pack section and a nice assortment of chilled beers. It is on my normal beer run list and if I find anything else in the store that Is a bonus.

When in Council Bluffs, this is our go to grocery store. They have everything you could ever want in a grocery store including a starbucks, a restaurant, and an awesome wine and spirits section. If there is anything you want that they don’t stock, they order it for you. They always have great customer service and they hire a ton of people which is great for the community. Oh and they are employee owned. I am generally never disappointed when coming to Hyvee. The only thing that bothers me is sometimes their prices are slightly higher than their competitors but they do price match which is great if you do your research ahead of time.

The Hy-Vee in Council Bluffs is always stocked and clean. The employees are always nice, helpful, and look professional. I enjoy going there, though the prices are a little higher compared to most other grocery stores. The grocery portion is always well maintained. I can usually find even the most unknown products, and the employees usually know where to find it. The meat department always has knowledgable staff who are helpful and friendly. The guys over in the wine and spirit section are always knowledgable and willing to order unheard of beverages out-of-state for my husband. I’ve eaten in the restaurant portion as well a couple times. We’ve never eaten at full price, always with a coupon. The food was always good for buffet style, but I am not sure if I’d pay full price. Hy-Vee also catered our wedding a couple years ago. We did appetizers, and I couldn’t have been more happy with the food and staff. Our cake was so beautiful and inexpensive. If you got a cake and catering, there is a discount. You can also get fresh flower, and flower arrangements. Sue and Penny, who work in the Starbucks, are such a delight. It helps to see a bright and shining face at 7am with no coffee in my system. They remember people’s names and their orders. Even though they always super busy when I am there, they don’t let the frustration get to them. There was one morning I set my latte on top of my icy car and it slid right off. They made me a new one. Though that may not be policy, it was a very nice gesture.

This Hy-Vee has been there for as long as I can remember,(other than building an entire new building in the same location about 10 years ago). Every time I go, the employees are always friendly and always willing to help if I need it. My only grip is the prices. On a lot of their food items, the prices are outrageous compared to other grocers like Target and Walmart, which is why I do most of my shopping at Target. But Hy-Vee does have some pretty good sales on a weekly basis, which is why I find myself going to Hy-Vee 1 – 2 times a week. And Hy-Vee is my go-to-place for alcohol. They have tons of options for all hard liquors and beer and some of their sales are pretty awesome. Even though i think some of the prices are a little high, I still go to Hy-Vee for those hard to find items and great sales.

I have to say this store is Awesome! I came in today to get a few things in the bakery dept and as I was standing there I dropped a Fifty dollar bill from my pocket pulling out my phone. I would have never known until I got up to the register that I lost it. Eric Richie the store manager walked over and found it. He realized we were just standing there and came and found me. He asked if I could have possibly lost a bill or money back at the bakery. I checked and said yes. He hands me the $ 50 back and said have a great day. I was shocked. I love this store!

This is a review regarding the café/restaurant portion of Hy-Vee. Whenever I’m visiting home from Los Angeles one of my favorite things to do is come here in the morning. All the frequent customers are so nice, and it seems to be quite a popular meeting spot for the retired. I often join my parents. They quit going to Panera across the street due to their overpriced pastries. Instead they grab a pastry or donut here. Oh, and the coffee is refillable, cheap AND delicious. I have never ordered a warm breakfast from the restaurant portion, only coffee; often I’ll bring a banana and yogurt in from the grocery portion of the store. Oh, yes, and Tony who works at Hy-Vee — very nice employee! Since a problem in the photo department last Christmas he says hello to me whenever I’m visiting home and calls me by my first name.
