Not let in! I was driving with my 15 year old daughter and we thought we would make a quick stop in. It was 25 minutes to closing, and we were basically ushered out. The welcome was unfriendly, and before we could even speak, the lady said she would have to talk to manager because it was so close to closing. There were so many ways to handle this: a welcome to look in the gift shop, not charging us admission but letting us walk around for a a few minutes(its a small museum), something! But, no, we were just blocked at the door. Sadly, we are local and won’t be going back or recommending to friends who visit us in the summer.

Topless Mermaids — playing poker with a group of sailors, or baking pie with a group of sailors. Frolicking in a garden. Ok the Cahoon guy was a bit odd and the mermaid themed paintings grow old but the house and exhibits are unique/wonderful(painted/stenciled floors!). You may see a hangings from a top line photographer, or carvings from a local talent. The current show has wood carvings of food — welfleet oyster with cocktail sauce — it smells so good of linseed oil. Upstairs is Sam Berman(last name) a artist who lives in Hyannisport — great color, blown up flowers. You would not suffer from S.A.D. with one of these beauties in your home. Lastly the gift shop has improved — great discovery stuff for kids, posters and pottery for adults.(Volunteer staff rocks!)
