Personal service from the owner was nice, and he was patient while I made my choices. I ended up going for his«most popular» olive oil over his«recommended» which was pretty bitter to my palate. The Blackberry Aged Basalmic Vinegar was great too.

Just had the best experience at We Olive with friends! Both the manager and our server were so friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. Both the hummus and bruscetta were divine. Their beverage selection was equally wonderful. We will certainly be back.

Olive oil, wine, and people watching, what could be better? Eat bread with olive, and enjoy snacks that go well with wine. While you eat, you watch people going by. This place can be a bit expensive, but it’s a very nice treat. My favorite was the olive oil with basil, yum! Of course it’s all for sale here too.

Love Love Love this place. Came here a few years ago to have a glass of wine and try the olive oil ice cream, which was decadent and delicious. Sadly the ice cream isn’t available anymore, but went back on Saturday for my anniversary and we were greeted by the same friendly staff, and had a lovely time. They have a great selection of both beer and wine, as well as some nice things to snack on. The olives are quite good, very different from others I’ve had, but I really enjoyed them. The cheese sampler plate the bartender brought us was also awesome. We’ll definitely be back, we definitely olive.

We Olive has a great energetic atmosphere. Not overly crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Patrons seem to consist of mostly older couples(50+). Good selection of wines and beers. Even had one of my favorite Central Coast wineries represented(D’Alfonso-Curran). Not many beers on draft, tho…(only 2). Staff is very friendly and does a good job of staying on top of patrons. Prices are reasonable and even have happy hour on the weekend!

Order the Bruschetta! I am usually not a fan of tomatoes, but the balsamic vinegar makes all the difference! TIP: the initial bread serving isn’t enough, so ask for more(free of charge) to finish off the plate.

The place looks nice. Their olive oils taste ok. I didn’t like the green olives I bought in the glass jar. They were too expensive for how they tasted — didn’t like the vinegar solution they were in.

After eating at Pueblo, our party wanted to continue drinking so we headed over to We Olive, at the recommendation of our server. It was just what we needed: a large wooden table where we could sit around, drinking wine, while catching up with lifelong friends. They have a decent selection of wine and apps, plus the servers were very knowledgeable about where products were sourced from etc. They even offered to take the obligatory group photo of us at closing time(thanks again)! We’ll be back.

I have been here several times. It is located inside The OC Mix across from The Cheese Shop. It is a great little wine spot with some good beers as well. The staff is very knowledgeable about their wine list. One can order off their small snack menu or even a cheese plate from across the way. Brian(pictured) has an overwhelming amount of knowledge when it comes to cheese and wines. If you have a question about what goes well with what, he is the man to talk to. Occasionally, they have wine and beer pairings. For a reasonable price one can get several samples of either wine or beer(pending on the type of event it is) with some fine cheeses and bread. Doesn’t seem like much, but it hits the spot. I suggest everyone tries to at least make it to one event(well worth it). However, one may say the only downside is around dinner time there are not many seats available. Many patrons are waiting to be sat at nearby restaurants, and usually stop by for a drink or two. So be sure to come early if that’s your plan.

LOVE this place. One of the best wine bars in Costa Mesa ! The staff is great and super helpful ! It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy a bottle of wine or even a glass for that matter. I would give it five stars but their food menu isn’t too die for. I wish they would have more tasty desserts to pair with their wine. Otherwise this place is awesome ! A must go if you haven’t been !

Great spot. Few places in OC(or SoCal at all, for that matter), put any real thought into a wine list. Even wine bars down here tend to have profoundly lame lists. Not We Olive. Interesting and provocative wines at fair prices. The food is excellent, too– it’s obviously conceived as accompaniment to wine. I think«We Olive» is a little bit«Under the Radar», and people don’t yet realize what a gem this place is… It’s popular but not recognized enough for the level of sophistication it brings with it’s food & wine game… And, to the knucklehead who gave them a bad review because of local ordinances that are out of the restaurant’s control: Get a life, jackass– it’s because of people like you that« Unilocal» sucks balls.

This is one of my absolutely favorite places to stop by once a week. I have been coming here for a few years now and have had the privilege to get to know the owner Phil. Which a lot like his wine is an acquired taste. I have never seen so much romance oozing out of a 600 square feet at the most, sit and sip like this one before! The Décor is perfect for the amount of space they have. The beer selection is always on point and I usually always discover a new favorite craft beer here. «my name is James Nguyen and I am an olive oil addict» I believe I may be up to 10 bottles here now. I cant get enough of them! They are not only great for cooking but also a great way to entertain at home. Garlic, Basil, blood orange, jalapeño. The list goes on and on. They also carry Balsamic Vinegar!

For years my mom and I have tasted and purchased olive oil and basalmic vinegar, and today I tried the wine bar/restaurant for the first time… And it was so much fun! A friend and I split the bruschetta(amazing) and the olive oil flight(albequena, lemon, basil, aged basalmic), not to mention wonderful glasses of wine! Since it was Tuesday, happy hour had $ 3 off red wine glasses! I also got a red wine flight(not part of happy hour deal) which was great! My new favorite drinking spot! Thanks We Olive!

Cool little nice spot for a wine bar. I tried the Merlot and Sav Blanc both a very good quality. I was helping a friend celebrate a pre-birthday and we were able to sit outside. I asked the server for the Fat Dave stick with the jalapeño olive oil… great choice! He was kind and attentive and helpful. It made for a good experience. We also tried the hummus and loved the Artisan Three Cheese plate also.

This place is crap! It is located in a «FOODCOURT» type setting with no walls completely open(THISPLACEINNOWAYISORSHOULDBECONSIDERED A BAR-considering kids do homework here) and across from a cheese/meat place. They will not let you sit on the outside of the counter space and drink wine even though the wine is on the same tabletop as if you were sitting inside, you cannot bring anyone under the age of 21 in even though it’s not even an enclosed setting. So because we had a baby with us there was no possible way for me to have a glass of wine with my cheese… Unless I took the advice of the lady who worked there and«just leave your baby out there»(in the courtyard area) are you kidding me? They’re rude and this is not an accommodating or a convenient place. Do yourself a favor and find another place to spend your money.

This spot sucks. Can’t come and have a glass of wine if you are with anyone under age. No exceptions. This was not for a bar seat but just a table. Updated… I don’t need a random message from some random old lady trying to convince me that it is a bar. Not a cafeteria with students doing their homework. I would imagine she is an employee. If she was someone of importance, I’m sure I would get a better message then a «no one wants to sit at a bar with a baby… Stay home» seeing how this spot has patio seating and a table top it would have been more then ok. And to top it off. Not one person was in their bar besides the employees. Just students sitting at every table drinking a coffee and doing homework. So there was also no place to sit anywhere else. Avoid this spot… Like the plague.

Came for the olives, but ended up getting a beer. This cute little wine bar is part of the OC Mix in the South Coast Collection, that’s a fancy way of saying smaller, interesting shops in what is generally a pretty industrial location. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a hummus appetizer with wine and beer. It was a pleasant location with friendly servers that know when to help you and when to leave you be to enjoy your conversation. I’d definitely go back and bring friends.

Just came for a nice set of olive oils. I wanted to get something useful for people who like to cook! This was the perfect spot! The woman at the counter was super friendly and showed me the cute little pre-made sets. I told her they were gifts so she wrapped them up as such. While I was waiting the waitress told me that I could sample all the oils they had on display! There were a ton! There were pre-cut cubes of bread ready for dipping. 5 stars for the taste as well as the service! Whether it is sweet or savory, this is going to be my one and only shop for olive oil! I had no idea they served ice cream… just read that in another review… will be sure to check that out!

There was a long wait at Shuck so we stopped by here. We tried to order beer, but it took a long long long time for them to take our order(10 min) so we just went up to the front and ordered directly. They were really kind and apologized… and even took a beer off our tab! so kind! Didn’t try anything but the beers. so I can’t give a great review. However, you can count on great service here!

I really really like the space and really really want this to be my go-to wine spot if I had someone to explore wine with me. Lol, #foreveralone. It’s a pretty chill spot to go have a glass before dinner or just to hang around while traffic dies down on a weekday. I came through a few times after work with coworkers to get some wine or beers before dinner. The space is small and cozy, but there’s an option for patio seating, which is great for the upcoming summer. The beer menu has a solid selection of bottled craft beers with the lightest listed at the top and moving to the darkest as you move down the list. I was indecisive between two selections, but our server helped narrow down the options by giving a full description of each flavor profile. It didn’t hurt that he also was the one that curated the bottle list so he’s tasted every one of them. I went with the Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose and it’s a great introduction to sours. Very fruity on the nose, a little bit of catbonation on the tongue and a lingering tartness at the end. It had a very nice punch that I debated on a second glass, but I opted for darkness with Mission’s Victory at Sea. I do appreciate that they leave the bottle for pictures and also to read the labels. For my second visit, I had the Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero. The Mexican-Style Chocolate Stout with vanilla, ancho chili, cinnamon and chocolate malts was not spicy at all and the hint of chili is relatively mild. Our server said there was a noticeable chili spice, but I just tasted the flavor of say… a smoked chili? Mostly bittersweet with a dark chocolate profile. I dig it! The food menu is pretty limited, but you can have some small bites while you drink. I’ve had the olive oil gelato(which I think everyone should try at least once!) with a balsamic glaze, sea salt and Meyer lemon oil. Really nice dessert. For something savory, we tried the hummus with pita chips and your choice of olive oil(garlic, extra virgin, jalapeño, lemon or basil). We chose the jalapeño which is really yums! Located at The OC Mix, there’s quick access to the 405 freeway for a speedy getaway, but please drink and eat responsibly haha. Parking can be confusing, but there’s plenty of space to park as you make your way to the middle instead of the outskirts.

Olive Oil tasting… with no bread?! Either… a) we’re supposed to get bread, but we didn’t. b) we didn’t know we had to purchase bread. c) we are weird for not liking to drink oil straight Not sure, but all those choices suck. We do not Olive.

As a specialty shop within the OC Mart Mix, it’s naturally alluring as something noteworthy. Seating is pretty limited but it was nice to sit outdoors in the patio while the sun was setting. I had the bruschetta, olive oil ice cream and the red wine flight(3 glasses of 2oz pours) The wine was yummy and the tomato for the bruschetta was very fresh, although I wish they used more olive oil. The only other place I’ve had olive oil ice cream is at Zero Zero in SF. We Olive’s had a more fluffy texture in the ice cream and the meyer lemon olive oil made it very fragrant– I highly suggest tasting it with the wine! They were understaffed when I went so it was difficult to grab a server and we ended up walking up to pay our bill. As all places in the OC Mart Mix, it’s def on the pricier side. They have extensive choices for quality olive oil which is quite a niche interest, but if you’re here more for the wine, I suggest going to the Wine Lab at the camp!

Lime oil, blood orange oil & balsamics galore. I LOVE this place and the free spout check-in with the Unilocal app is pretty sweet too. :) Great little sample cups if you aren’t sure what you like. If I can’t make it to 41 Olives in Irvine, this is my #1 second choice. :o
