I honesty don’t understand how this place has 4* and almost 500 reviews. Have you guys been to any good phở places? This place has really good egg rolls, but other than that it was meh. My beef slices phở was okay. The noodles were hard… My fiancé got the shrimp, pork, chicken fried rice, and that was a big bland. To top it off, it was super hot in there. It’s a cute little hang out place. The service was meh, but the workers were friendly. We didn’t get checked up on or anything but handed the food. It would’ve been an okay experience. But, I just really lost my appetite when I went to their restroom which btw is located at the back of the building. I don’t think I’ll be back.

The food is always amazing here. It has been for as long as I have been going here. My favorite still have to be the pork egg rolls with lettuce wraps. The flavor is just so good. This will always be my go to spot for Vietnamese cuisine.

Was in Costa Mesa trying to find something to do to wait out the traffic on the 405. So glad that we stopped to have some phở. This is an amazing find. The pork egg rolls were delicious. And the phở with sliced beef and meatballs was delicious. Living close to little Saigon there is a lot of great phở places and I think I found a new favorite. They add fried shallots to the phở and the little extra added texture and flavor makes their phở stand out. I’ll definitely be back. I’m eager to try the other dishes they offer. Ambiance was cool too. Art work everywhere and great old school hip hop for tunes. I am one happy camper.

My coworker and I stopped by Vietnam Pearl for a quick afternoon lunch. We were able to find a parking spot fairly quickly, but I can imagine it being a little difficult during the lunch rush. We were greeted immediately and seated shortly after. The menu is short and concise, Vietnam Pearl serves traditional Vietnamese food with some touches of fusion cuisine — such as their Saigonese Tacos, which feature pork, chicken, or shrimp. My coworker and I decided on the Charbroiled Pork Vermicelli, which was a great choice. The food came out fast and was delicious. Vietnam Pearl is a great spot if your in the mood for a quick lunch. I wasn’t able to try their Phở, but from what I saw it looked as equally appetizing as the Vermicelli. The best thing about Vietnam Pearl is that they accept credit cards and will split your bill too! If you’re in the area Vietnam Pearl is definitely a solid choice.

Not my favorite phở place but does a decent job ! A little sad they don’t have some phở extras that I love like the nuoc beo(flavorful oil) or the well done brisket but the broth itself is pretty good and the alternative I ordered was good ! Menu doesn’t have much variety for phở but has a lot of other options ! Phở tai(3 stars) — only because I prefer a different cut of meat, and my noodles were a tiny bit too soft(I prefer al dente) but all around pretty good. Satisfied my cravings. Coconut Vietnamese iced coffee(3.5 stars) — definitely interesting and something to try! I’ve never seen it elsewhere. If you like coconut milk I’d recommend it. I’m hate/love with it but enjoying it. Service(5 stars) — the service was friendly, quick and attentive. Polite staff and really nice

I decided to check this place out since it is very close to my school. I got 5 spices chicken and shrimp spring roll and both were so tasty. Price was very reasonable and service was good!

This place is great. Tiny spot but the phở and spring rolls are fantastic. We’ve been a handful of times and think it’s the best phở we’ve had. Granted, we’re white, so take that for what it’s worth but the place is always relatively busy. Definitely would recommend checking it out!

I came across this place through Unilocal. When I saw the good reviews, I knew that it is worth the try considering that I was craving Vietnamese food but I was not willing to drive all the way to Garden Grove. Upon walking in to the restaurant at 12:30 on a weekday and seeing that most all of the tables were full, I realized that this is a popular lunch spot. I was lucky enough to be able to get a table right away. I ordered the chicken phở. Soon after my steamy/hot phở was at my table along with a generous portion of thai basil, sprouts, chillis, like and cilantro. Having tasted the amazing phở at Phở Lu in Garden Grove, I could not resist to compare the phở from two places. The phở at VP was flavorful. It was a bit on the salty side, but again I am sensetive to salt, so I am not going to deduct a star for this specific reason. The portion was big enough for you to enjoy your meal while not being left with any leftovers. The reason that I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their restroom situation. First of all, you need to go around the building to the back to get to the bathroom. Second of all, the bathroom is literally inside their kitchen. I Hated that! It is just not right, if you know what I mean. Third of all, the bathroom was dirty… Will I be back here? I am not sure… I would rather drive to Phở Lu instead!

I go to Orange Coast College right next to this place so I come by to have lunch before my class. I’m a phở addict and literally eat phở like every few days. I of course have been to a good amount of phở restaurants so I know my phở. Honestly brutally speaking, I’m not really a fan of their phở. The Broth tastes a bit different from most other phở places. Idk if that’s how the authentic way is supposed to be made but I’m just used to the more«known» taste. Idk how to explain it but this particular restaurant has a more fishier taste to their broth if you will lol. Not really a fish sauce fan. I love love their sweet Chinese sausage spring rolls! Sooo delicious. Packed with flavor(: Service on the other hand. Well I mean, they’re doing a good job for a place that only has 2 people working. I’m assuming its family owned? A mother and a son? Well anyway I’ve never seen such hard workers, I’m a server myself. I’ve been serving for years so I definitely have the mindset of a server and I can definitely observe how the restaurant runs. It was definitely busy for such a small place. I literally wanted to get up and just help them buss tables lol. And I can literally see the 2 servers working their asses off. I could tell they’re working hard so I dont even complain about the slow service. I saw people rolling their eyes and saying that it shouldn’t take that long. Blah blah. Give them a break. It’s a small place with only 2 people working. I give them props.

After a night of drinking, I was in search of a new phở place in Costa Mesa close to my new home! I’ve been to phở crystal down the block but this one is going to be my go to phở restaurant. Definitely a smaller seating area. I ordered to go and to my surprise, none of that«ok wat u want to ordar» language barrier here. The service was prompt and the server immediately grabbed my food, chatted about our hangovers and I was out within minutes. The broth was tasty, which was most important for a bowl of hearty phở. The sliced beef was fresh. Delicious! I will definitely be back here to dine in!

Tasty, but skimpy on the proteins. I have one of the vermicelli bowls and while everything was quite tasty, there was hardly any of the primary ingredients. 2 tiny shrimp, a small egg roll, and a few shards of pork. The flavors were bold, but the portion of premium ingredients wasn’t reflected in the price. It was mostly noodles with a small smattering of good stuff.

Great alternative outside of little Saigon, great to go to if you’re in Costa Mesa & don’t feel like making the long drive all the way to Westminster/Garden Grove area. Bun tom(shrimp vermicelli): 3.5 stars Shrimps were on the small side but very well seasoned. Fish sauce that came with this was very light, not very fragrant. Shrimp spring rolls: 3 stars Not enough noodles in these rolls but there’s a lot of vegetables. Décor: warm & welcoming. Plus, interesting art on the walls. Very clean interior. Service: A+ Nice, welcoming & funny.

Stopped by for a quick bowl of phở. The menu is surprisingly expansive and kudos to them for accommodating that OC lifestyle that demonizes carbs– there’s an entire page devoted to carb less entrees. There’s definitely something for everyone. The phở choices here are very basic. I ordered the regular sliced beef + meatball(tai and bo vien) phở. It’s a steal for $ 6.95. I was surprised. The broth had a lot of depth to it– you can taste the slow simmer of bones into the broth and what I liked most about the broth was that the flavors weren’t compromised. It was a good, clean, flavorful broth. Great. If their phở is indicative of the rest of their menu, I can satiate my Vietnamese cravings if I’m ever in this area. Delicious. Come here.

Definitely an authentic Vietnamese restaurant! I live in San Diego, and and stopped in the OC to ease a hangover and visit some friends. The staff was young, super friendly, energetic, quick and hilarious! The broth was yummy/flavorful and soothed my upset hung over tummy. The chicken in my phở was actually good quality chicken AND it was shredded!(in SD they give you large chunks of chicken) I also liked that they played upbeat current music, it was like a rave in there!(in a good way) and entertaining music videos. I will definitely make sure to by here any chance I get.
