My favorite local sushi joint. All of the employees are really friendly and hard working. Try the aloha roll and the shishito peppers! The chilled orange when your check comes is always a nice treat too.

I have always ignored this place but I finally got to try it and it was pretty good sushi!!! The restaurant is not that big with only a couple of booths and tables and a small bar area that can accommodate small groups and couples. The place was packed on a Saturday night and although there were only two waitresses the service was pretty good. We ordered several rolls which were around $ 10 to share such as the Tortilla roll which was very interesting but surprisingly good, it tasted like a mini sushi burrito especially with the sauces that it came with!!! The Volcano roll was my favorite because of the tasty sauces that covered the entire roll, the fish was very good. I also really enjoyed their Spicy Yellowtail it really had a great kick to it. My BF’s mom ordered their tempura and it was also good although the tempura dipping sauce was not that flavorful. The portions were not that big for the rolls we got but maybe other rolls are bigger. I really liked their ginger side, the ginger was pink which I’m not use to since most places serve white ginger, but it tasted very fresh and had a nice bite to it. The sushi hand rolls were also very good and they were thickly cut which goes to show they are not stingy with their fish. Although the place was packed I always had a full glass of water which is nice since many places understaffed tend to drop the ball when it comes to refilling water glasses for every table. I will definitely be back!

Sit back and you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started on one boring Friday night, when the Hubbster and I craved Sushi, but to where? Oh ahoy there! Its Sushi Island… Came in around 5:45pm-ish, and the place was quiet, and not too busy at all. But this is a cautionary tale, it could have been because we had be the crowds of Friday night diners. The place is small, but was roomy enough. We sat at the far end of the Sushi bar which seemed like it was a step away into the kitchen. But we didn’t mind. The place was cute, and the staff was friendly so we got comfortable. Ordered some beers, and went away with the ordering. Tried something new for the first time, which was AMBERJACK,(I believe is a cousin of the Yellowtail, not too sure) but WOW! Very nice and fresh. All the sushi here was great in portion, fullness and presentation. A+ for cool quality! Perks: Beer and Wine, and of course Saki. Variety of Sushi and Sashimi, as well as specials on the menu board around the sushi bar. I believe outside patio area is available for outside dining. Be sure to check with staff first. Downside: Small inside dining area, not sure if good for groups of 4+ OverALL: Cozy and Cute. An island of adventure in flavor and fun. Worth a try for a night! We will be back!
