Argghh, the lack of decent customer service at this business makes me want to shop somewhere else… anywhere else. Notices around the store encourage you not to ask for lower prices and make you think if you do, you are in for trouble. Will never go back here again.

An absolute dump — run by an absolute tool… It’s sad that he makes a profit at the expense of nice people who need to find deals just to get by in life… If karma is real the guy who runs this joint won’t be in business much longer…

This place is so terrible. It makes me sad, but I have nothing but bad things to say about it. They guy who owns this is a con artist. He sells old/broken goods for new item prices. And they have threatening messages strewn about the store. They basically say, «Don’t dare try to bargain with us. If you even negotiate a little, we will throw you out.» Not very inviting, if you ask me. On top of that, they’ve been advertising that they’re moving for more than 2YEARS now! What a freaking lie. They have finally moved out and I am excited and eager to see what moves in. I hope that wherever this consignment store moved to, people learn what a bad business it really is and boycott it.

Mostly furniture and art. Somethings are good finds and others are things you can find at the salvation army. Items here are very well organized and they seem to have a constant sale of some sort going on. I picked up a few pieces of art here for a rather cheap price. They do have some clothing and even fitting rooms for you to try on stuff. But the majority of the store is dedicated to home decour. The staff are great people and are even willing to haggle a little with you. BUT the owner Dave is not my cup of tea in any way. Service and principals are more important to me than paying $ 10 less thus I will never be back. I rather go hunting at the goodwill or salvation army where I know my money is also going to a good cause.(I purchased a hand drawn, signed, water color cartoon from the salvation army for $.50 and its my favorite piece in my entire house). Happy Hunting

I have had a little experience with consignment stores, rating is based on the larger stores in San Diego and Orange County. Customer service was nice, the lady working offered us water after our long drive. We were focusing on furniture, they had mostly larger pieces, from big living rooms, very few nice pieces, leather, good condition. Due to the lack of space, they stack their sofas on racks. The other pieces were rather dated upholstery It appeared to have good section of clothes which were protected from the dust. Need to be on service road and they offer parking lot in back.

This place is tricky to get to — it is located right where the 55 freeway ends so you have to go around the block to get to it. Parking and entrance is in the rear of the building. There were a few interesting pieces of furniture but most of it was of the poor quality or beaten-up thrift store variety. The place even has that«thrift store smell». Good if you are hurting financially or just starting out and need a few pieces of furniture until you can purchase something decent. Otherwise skip it.

The World According to Noelle Allergic Girl’s Guide to Life Being a fan of A&E’s Storage Wars my hubby and I decided to stop by Newport Consignment. This shop is owned by Dave Hester. Upon entering you will note how everything is well organized. The have good selection of vintage & modern furniture, clothes, jewelry, paintings and pictures. We were greeted by the friendly staff as we entered. We were able to score a Martini & Rossi Vermouth Bianco print which will look great in our dining room or kitchen. It was reasonably priced. Dave’s staff is hard away at work– like busy bees organizing the merchandise and keeping everything clean and dusted. Rory the salesperson was helpful in letting us know that the print we purchased was 50% on sale. Newport Consignment is clean, well organized, has a good selection of almost everything and has extremely good customer service– hence the 5 star rating. Noelle’s Notes Well organized consignment shop in posh Newport Beach! They accept cash and debit/credit cards as payment.

This place is actually pretty cool. I didn’t really know what to expect since I have never been to a store like this, but I actually thought it was pretty cool. The prices were decent, some I thought were a bit high and some were very reasonable. Seemed like they might be willing to deal a bit if you were really interested in something. If you are a fan of the show Storage Wars you will love this place. We will definitaly be back to see what new/old cool stuff they collect along the way.

This place has since been revamped and renamed as «Rags to Riches Thrift Store.» This review might be slightly biased, because as a broke college student I am fascinated with thrift stores, and for the most part they can do no wrong.(Unless they smell like ass. That’s a definite deal-breaker for me.) So this store is laid out pretty much like a much smaller, more decrepit version of a discount store like Wal-Mart. It’s brightly lit and carries everything from furniture to children’s gowns.(Ps– if you’re in the market for some ridiculously poofy and cute-as-hell little girl’s dresses– this is the place to go. I almost wished I were 3 feet tall so I could fit into these flouncy tulle confections.) They have a pretty decent selection of vintage records, and from the several boxes I flipped through I was able to dig up a good amount of underground hip-hop and oldschool soul singles and b-sides. You’ll usually find your typical Costa Mesa hipster kids flipping through this aisle. They have retro lounge chairs for $ 50, a used nintendo gamecube for $ 29, used stereos, old music recording mixers, and even a vintage slot machine.(wtf?) And a luggage section selling beat-up(although still functional) suitcases for something ridiculous like $ 6.99. I also scored a complete poker set(with case) for $ 29. Even if you’re not really looking to buy anything, Rags to Riches is still worth a visit just to dig around and end up buying a cartload of crap you didn’t know you wanted for a fraction of the price.
