Mesa Verde Post Acute Care Cente

The place looks nice and the staff was friendly but I never want to be at a place like this. It’s sad, depressing and makes me sick to my stomach that we get have to get old and one day we have to live in a place like this. Then again it might be a blessing the placed like this exist. It’s not really this location that I don’t like but hoe sad it is that we get sick and unable to take care of ourselves.

Outstanding pt care and wonderful customer service all the staff members are very warm and welcoming. I know the employees there very well and always make me feel right at home. mary crooks the maintance supervisor she always goes out of her way not only for me but for all the visitors and patients. She is so down to earth very loving and caring we need more people like her in this world

My mother was at Mesa Verde for rehab after a fall. All they did was let her lay in bed. Mesa Verde is extremely understaffed & the staff that they do have is not attentive to the patients. The nurses did not respond to the call button, several times I had to go down the hall to get a nurse or aide to help. The dietitian incorrectly evaluated my mother & therefore put her on the incorrect diet, which caused a lot of other problems. The housekeeping staff lost several items of clothing. The administrative staff did not take my phone calls & did not return the messages I left. After 2 weeks I was able to move my mother to another facility where she was attended to properly. I would strongly discourage placing a loved one at Mesa Verde.

The previous review applies to the convalescent hospital at 661 center st. The residential care is at 673 center st. Although affiliated with the hospital, the residential care unit is at the other end of the ratings spectrum. My Mom has lived in both places, for the past year in the residential section. The facilities are old, but I would unreservedly nominate the residential staff for sainthood. Mom receives loving, individual care and I feel like I am leaving her with family after I visit. I have recommended this to several friends for their family members.

If you decide to bring your loved one here please keep an eye on them daily. I don’t think there very attentive to the elderly here. My grandmother was here and they weren’t brushing her teeth. I would come to visit her and it looked like food had been sitting in her mouth for days. That’s pretty gross. This is why the elderly get sick or depressed because there neglected and not properly cared for.
