Walked all the way over from Nordstrom on a Sunday afternoon to learn they were closed. Unilocal showed them as being open. Extremely disappointed that they weren’t mindful enough to put accurate hours on Unilocal.Had their gelato at another location and loved it.

I enjoyed visiting this place over the weekend. Very different from the usual ice cream shops. I would definitely come back.

They have a lot of different unique flavors! They have 3 different CUP sizes but for each size you get a total of THREEFLAVORS. My GOD the options to mix is on fleek here. I tried their banana nutella crêpe and it blew my mind. I haven’t been able to come to reality since. OHYEAH get your ticket approved by them if you don’t want to pay $ 1.50 — $ 3.00 for parking.

We were both pretty stuffed, but Van D. and I came through here after dinner because… Unilocal. Its located across from Mastros in Costa Mesa so you already know parking means inside the structure. Luckily they do validate parking… sweet. I picked up their raspberry gelato and it was pretty sour but I really liked it. It was a nice change of scenery in terms of flavor. I was pretty full but surprisingly I actually finished it. Oh I almost forgot, you can pick up to 3 flavors for a small serving and I probably should have but raspberry gelato was pretty good. Van D. had the dulce de leche which the girl at the counter deemed their most popular item as evident by it being nearly gone when we arrived. She also had the mint chocolate chip and the cherry chocolate chip. I thought her creation was pretty good. The dulce de leche was definitely amazing and I can see why its one of their more popular items. I’m not extremely big on mint chocolate chip but surprisingly it was pretty good too. The cherry chocolate was just ok to me but the 3 combine worked wonders. Its a really nice gelato place. Great flavors and very nice service. The counter girl was very helpful and patient as we contemplated our choices. The store is pretty small. There isn’t that much room inside albeit a couple of chairs and a couple of more outside. Your safest bet is to grab and go, but if you are looking to hang out then the outside seating isn’t too bad. The biggest struggle is the parking situation. Coming at night did help a lot. I can only imagine how it must be around noonish. Overall Its a very nice dessert place. Their gelato wasn’t as creamy as I had anticipated. It reminded me more of Italian ice cream but hey I love Italian ice cream so… winner winner chicken dinner.

I have seen my Unilocal friends check into Mangiano Gelato Caffe, but I didn’t realize there were multiple locations. This location in particular is a rather small storefront on Anton Blvd. There is a parking structure in the back. Don’t forget to bring the ticket with you for validation or else it will cost you $ 1.50/15minutes. Gelato Prices: — Piccolo(up to 3 flavors) $ 3.50 — Medio(up to 4 flavors): $ 4.25 — Grade(up to 5 flavors): $ 5.00 — add $ 1 for a waffle cone My Unilocal-migo Truong T. and I came here after we were already stuffed from dinner, but we felt like it was our Unilocal-duty to continue eating for Unilocal. For reals though! He had the piccolo raspberry gelato. ITWASSOSOUR! He really liked it and he finished it quickly, but I was less found of such a SOUR dessert. I definitely felt more creative and I ordered a piccolo with the cherry chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip and dulce de leche. That dulce de leche was a popular choice and it was almost out when I got there so I knew it would be good. Yummm! I thought that it was a good dessert, but not necessary a succeeding gelato. It was so dense like ice cream and not creamy and smooth like gelato should be. Perhaps the temperature was a bit too cold for the gelato? Who knows… but nevertheless still pretty good. The storefront was tiny with only two tables and four chairs in front, not a good place to hangout at. Also the parking situation is a bit annoying, but I can see myself coming back if I was already in the area looking for a quick dessert.

Pretty cool gelato place! It’s small and quaint, 3.50 for a small cup which you can put 3 flavors into. I got the mystery flavor which I believe is cake batter, but only the chef knows apparently. It was still good though. Very limited seating outside and parking is a pain because you have to park in their lot which is expensive but if you go late, we got there at like 7:30? It’s free. I don’t know you have to check the time because I thought we were going to have to pay but it ended up being free so no complaints! Overall it was good!

Just finished hot yoga and was in the mood for a treat. Been wanting to check out this spot and was glad I was finally able to. It’s on the same side where Pizzeria Ortica is with all the other European flavored businesses. Luckily read on Unilocal, that parking is free in the structure, you just need to get it validated at the shop. Staff was friendly and nice they let sample a lot since I was having trouble deciding. I got a small of pistachio and banana chocolate chip. Love the fact that you can have multiple flavors. Staff also mentioned that they also rotate flavors.

I stopped by on a Sunday after checking Unilocal to see if they were open which it said they were. I drove up all the way from Irvine and they were closed! I wanted to sample their gelatos to decide if I wanted to have them for my baby shower. I ended up coming back in the middle of the week and was able to order a couple of pans to be picked up on the weekend. I ended up going with strawberry and banana chocolate chip. Both were really delicious! The girl that helped me out that morning was really friendly, helpful and sweet. We picked up the gelato pans on a Saturday morning and they came with spoons, napkins and mini cups. The pans we chose were enough to feed I think around 40 – 50 people? Would definitely use them again but if I have a larger party I would look into their catering service which provides a server and a cart.

Delicious delicious delicious delicious. I’m so glad this place is here. I’ve had quite a variety of their flavors and they are absolutely wonderful. My mouth is watering as I’m typing thinking about this wonderful gelato. I just get the gelato in a cup but their espressos smell wonderful. I’m sure they’re pretty good.

MANGIAMO… music to my ears. Why do I say that you ask? Because it means«Let’s Eat» in Italian and it’s WHAT we Unilocalers LOVE to do. Or at least I do. I was in search of a dessert place that a fellow Unilocaler and her hubby had NOTBEENTO yet and this place popped up on my Unilocal app so I was sold. Who doesn’t like Gelato? MANGIAMO has 3 locations and they ALL make the gelato FRESHDAILY, right in the store! They use the FRESHESTINGREDIENTS and secrets to make their gelato and sorbetto. What’s the diff? Well Gelato is made with milk and sorbetto is made with water making it a healthy option for those watching their waistline NOT expand. Also GREAT for those lactose intolerant peeps or those with special dietary needs. A win-win situation for everyone. They offer about 32 different flavors of gelato and sorbetto and you can of course taste for FREE(my fav F-word) any flavors you want without obligation to buy. It just gets better. Each month there is a mystery flavor that NOT even the employees know what it is so don’t bother guessing and asking haha! You can get it in a cone or cup whatever you’re fancy and they WILL validate you parking for up to 2 hours if you park in the parking structure so no need to grab and go. With Unilocal stray in tow we stopped here on our dessert crawl. There were only two other peeps there enjoying their gelato outside on the warm summer like evening. WE went inside and we were greeted right away. We glanced through the display at all the different flavors. I saw my fav pistachio but I was trying to be adventurous and tied the mystery flavor. It was GOOD but didn’t knock me over. Then I saw a couple with vinegar in the name and thought I would try them. Again GOOD but just NOT my fav so I settled on pistachio. I tried. My Unilocal stray got raspberry sorbetto, we paid and sat outside to enjoy our gelato. It was DELISH! SUPERRICHANDCREAMY just like it should be! I was a piggy and gobbled mine down before we headed off to our next stop. It was REALLYNICE and quiet out there as it located on Anton and there is not much traffic even with the mall right across the street. I TOTALLYENJOYED it so much I went BACK the next day for more! This time I tried the raspberry sorbetto and AGAINYUM, YUM, YUMMY! It was LIGHT and REFRESHING but didn’t LACKANYFLAVOR! SCRUM-DILLY-UMPTOUS! As Arnold put it… I’ll be back!

I must say their gelato is quite addicting. I crave their Bacio and Banana Chocolate Chip gelato every single week. They do change up their flavors every once in a while but I always seem to end up getting the same flavors. I also love their chocolate sorbet and pistachio flavors. They also have espresso, and hot chocolate, and delicious things like that. And they also cater. I always park in the parking structure behind the store and get my card validated at Mangiamo’s. And I’ve actually came before and they were closed when they were supposed to be open so you might want to call them first if you’re taking a drive out from somewhere a lil far. Get a stamp card if you come often!

I Love Gelato! I came here on New Year’s Eve. All dessert places closed, I couldn’t believe. This one was open And we were full of delight. It was hard to find Being it was night. I love Ice Creams. I love Gelatos. This shop is located Directly across from Mastros. Ginger Snap And Pumpkin Pie. These were what I wanted to try. The cost was Ok, Not too Pricey. But for some reason, My gelato was icy? The last dessert for 2014 And the holiday. Overall my experience Was AOK. You enter the store directly off Anton. You will need to park in the garage.

The gelato and service is consistently great! :) Minus 1 star for never having salted caramel, which in my opinion, is one of their best/most popular flavors!)…and for having inefficient cups. Every time I take it to-go, the gelato is dripping all over the place by the time I get back to work(right next door, too!) Sad face for wasted gelato…

Only recently discovered this place and it’s right around the corner from where I work — this could be dangerous! Slow, but very friendly service. Plenty of yummy flavors to choose from. The cups come in three sizes and you can mix several different flavors. AND they will make a latte with any flavor you’d like! I definitely recommend the peppermint bark(while it lasts)!

Pros: Vanilla gelato(Small $ 3.50) Cons: None that I can think of After lunch at Pizzeria Ortica, my coworkers and I decided to indulge a little more with dessert at Mangiamo. I was trying to be healthy and get their smallest size($ 3.50). I’m pretty boring so I ended up getting vanilla. Boring as it may be, their vanilla here is delicious. Anyway, I’ll probably be back to try their other flavors too.

I hate to be the first one to rate this cute gelato store with just 3 stars. But my first experience was not what I thought it would be after reading such rave reviews. I must have chose the wrong time to come. Anyways, I live just a walk down from this place so I have always been curious to try it out, because who doesn’t want to try a gelato place you can walk to from home?! The only reason why I am knocking down stars was the way my friend and I were treated. The girl behind the counter must be new or something because she wasn’t the slightest bit friendly as she just stared at us and waited for us to make our minds up of what flavors to try. It was clear this was our first time but she didn’t offer us to try any flavors or let us know which ones we should consider. Her nonchalance and blank stares made everything awkward and I ended up getting a weird combination of flavors(berry sorbet and mint chip??) because I felt so rushed to decide. We decided to eat our gelato outside while the girl went back to her netflix or whatever was on her laptop. The gelato itself was good. I think the mixed berry sorbet flavor was better than my mint chip! But then again the combo I got was a little funky… I will definitely try more sorbet flavors out! Another worker came in who seemed so upbeat and friendly, this review would probably be higher if I came in 10 mins later. I will def come back and try more flavors. Basically this place is worth trying out!

Tried it out yesterday and got a mix of pistachio, white chocolate macadamia, and mango sorbetto. I found that the non-sorbetto flavors were like eating melty ice cream which I wasn’t a big fan of, wish they made the gelato harder or kept colder. Pistachio = 4⁄5(good) White Choc Macadamia = 1⁄5(tasted like I was eating lipstick) Mango = 3⁄5(average) It’s nice that they let you try any flavor though. Probably won’t be coming back as I prefer other types of ice cream.

did someone say GELATO?! YES pls! I always drive pass this on my way to scp! One day, I was off early and decided to walk to this place after my shift @ scp! Would’ve never know this was located here. Unless, you are familiar with this part of south coast metro. I absolutely love this place! With amazing choices of gelato, it was hard to choose which one I wanted. I decided to get the pistachio. YUM! The cashier was totally friendly.. . service with a smile! You can also order coffee, lattes, hot beverages.

When Mangiamo opened in November, I thougth that opening at that time of year must be hard because of the cooler weather. Well, it has been a pretty warm winter for Southern California — so there really isn’t an issue there. We stopped by here on a Saturday night at around 8pm and were welcome by a nice girl behind the counter. She let us have tasters of whatever flavor we wanted. The flavors I liked best were the biscotti and salted caramel brownie. Now that we know about this place and have tried it, I am sure we will be back!
