I didn’t want to bring down the ratings for one of my favorite department stores so I had to make Lancome its own separate business. Just to clarify, this is only for the Lancome @ SCP’s Bloomingdale. Not for any other department at Bloomingdales or for any other Lancome at other Bloomies… only the one where the Asian boy with blond hair works at… and trust me, if you see him there, RUN. First off, I don’t even like Lancome… there aren’t any products that stand out to me, but I have to say, they always have the cutest gifts! There aren’t many other makeup counters that offer gifts I would actually use but for March, with any purchase of $ 35, you get a cute makeup bag, and 7 «a la carte» items you can choose yourself(again, none of the products alone are worthy except maybe the eye-makeup remover) but I couldn’t resist the bag! SO cute. anyway, before this turns out to sound more like an advertisement, I gotta continue on with my story. So I dropped by simply so I could get the makeup bag right? I quickly chose two shades of eyeshadow and wanted to leave asap, but the guy told me that those were out. So then I picked another two shades of eyeshadow, and he told me those were out too… I’m getting kinda frustrated and finally settle with some other shades when he finally tells me «Ohhhh sorry… those colors have been discontinued! Come over to this counter… these are the new shades that are replacing those.» Ummm… couldn’t you have told me that like, 15 minutes ago?! Finally, I grabbed two shades of eyeshadow and was on my way… only to have massive buyer’s remorse later on, but at least I got the cute makeup bag so whatevs. I did some browsing on Lancome’s website and decided to go back to exchange them for the tinted moisturizer… So, I pop into Bloomies again and this time, yes, I was greeted by the same blond Asian guy. I tell him I want to exchange my eyeshadows for tinted moisturizer, and he immediately goes, «What shade?» «I don’t know what shade, can I get matched?» «Umm… you don’t know your shade?» «No, I’ve never bought it before.» «Um… okay… So, how did you hear about it then?» Um… seriously?! Why does that matter? Stop wasting my time, and just match me please. So, he goes digging around the back of his counter, comes back, and goes«We don’t have any testers for the tinted moisturizer…» «So… can’t you just make one?» «Hold on…» A couple minutes later, he comes back with a little dab of makeup on the back of his hand and shows it to me by holding it up to my cheek and goes«Yes, this is your shade.» «Okay, well can I get some of the tester so I can actually apply it to my skin??» «I told you, we don’t have testers.» «Well, where did you get that?» «I had to open up a package to show you.» «Well, can’t you just make that a tester?» «No, then we would lose inventory.» Um… what?! So he’s gonna resell something he just opened?!? Then he gets really pushy and goes«This is your shade.» Even when I asked him if I could try a shade lighter or darker, he just went«No, we don’t have testers…» and just to bug him, I asked him to just open another box and he just got annoyed and said«Trust me, this is your shade.» So I finally decided to get it, and I say just to bug him again, «Well if I try it on, and it’s not my shade, I can return it here right?» and this guy actually had the nerve to say to me, «No… we can’t return things that you opened.» HELLO?! You can ALWAYS return cosmetics at department stores! ESPECIALLY after HE opened the makeup first to put a dab on his hand and put it back to resell it! soo sooooo stupid. So a week later, I went back and returned the makeup(which was NOT my shade by the way) and it was the same blond Asian guy again(!!!) Immediately, he opens the box to check if it’s been used and goes«Did you open this???» to which I responded«YES, whatchu gonna do about it?!» …just kidding I didn’t say the last part but I should have!
