If I could I’d give —(negative stars but the employees are sweet and kind) Well, this place looks affordable and clean from the outside. It’s a sushi buffet, which means food stands out for a while and it’s doesn’t taste fresh. Arrived early afternoon for a quick bday snack. :/bad choice for any occasion. Server was super sweet girl who was very attentive to my allergies. We weren’t sure what cost what and the plates did look enticing but did not taste too fresh. After our meal the manager came by to say based on my allergies I should not eat there. After my meal. Luckily I didn’t get sick but it wasn’t worth coming in. At all.

Came here a few nights ago & here’s my experience. Aesthetically, this sushi-go-round is one of the nicer ones I have ever been too in the states. Considering I am from Japan & having been back in the states for about a year now & seen how ghetto most go rounds are this is definitely one of the cleaner ones. I walked in with high hopes because of the aesthetic but unfortunately food & service did not live up to the expectation. First I was seated & my drink order was taken. It was my first time there & our waiter did not bother to ask if we were familiar with their system(most sushi places have their own system). I had to ask her myself to have her explain how we order. Next our waitress never asked us if we wanted to order anything. Usually most sushi places ask at least ONCE. Nope I had to flag down any waitress/waiter I could get the attention of to do so. Got a refill for my tea but not my mothers(weird). Lots of sushi chefs standing around but not asking customers if they want to order. Menu is very American, not a whole lot of actual raw fish. A lot of American sushi. you know breaded this & that, cheesey this & that, smoked salmon(this one is always weird for me & I still am getting used to the fact that smoked salmon is considered sushi in the states lol). The scallops, which are usually my favorite, were extremely smelly & I had a hard time finishing them. Same with the salmon skins. The prices here are highest I’ve ever had to pay at any sushi-go-round I have ever been too. $ 3-$ 4 per plate. We were shocked when we saw we had a $ 30 bill, the highest we have ever had for mediocre food. My mom & I are both petite & eat maybe 3 – 4 plates each so we usually end up paying $ 15-$ 20 at the most at any sushi-go-round anywhere we go & usually the quality is much better. Last but not least 10 minutes into our car ride back to the hotel we both had stomach aches & wanted to puke. Very unfortunate.

It has been a really long time since I was last here so me and my husband decided to stop by for a dinner date with a friend. They tend to have a decent selection of sushi compared to other revolving sushi places we frequent. Everything was very fresh and we left with happy bellies.

I just ate here about 10 minutes ago and my stomach feels like it’s in a knot. I really hope this isn’t food poisoning but if not I still don’t like feeling like this after a $ 40 meal.

One of my favorite sushi spots in the OC due to its affordability and quality. I usually stray away from revolving sushi because of questionable quality, however, Kura Sushi is definitely an exception. Love the shrimp tempura roll!

avoid at all costs! currently writing this review from the toilet with food poisoning. fortunately i’m not barfing but i see other reviewers were less fortunate than myself. oh, and not the mention the service was absolutely horrendous! a 1-star review is generous at best. you have no idea how long the sushi has been rotating around the room. you’re probably safer off eating the rotating hot dogs at the 7 – 11 next door.

I used to go to this place on a regular basis. FYI my daughter got deathly ill after leaving this place. Pretty sure the fish was bad. I am very concerned about how they store their fish. In my opinion it is not stored properly. My 10 year old got very very sick. We went for dinner and about 30 minutes later she was barfing up all over the place. I have not gone back since.

Not what they used to be. AYCE is not a good deal as half the menu items are not included. Sent two items back; the steak teriyaki was rubbery and cold as was the ninja roll. Not fresh and poor quality. Won’t ever come back.

I liked this place for the atmosphere. The fact that it is a rotating sushi bar is pretty awesome. However, I did not like the crunchy roll that much. This is something that I order every time I go to sushi. Drinks didn’t get refilled until we were paying our bill(group of 10 people) they asked if we wanted refills. Gyoza dumplings were cold when I picked them up off the conveyer belt. The edamame is served cold also, we had to ask our server to heat it up. Best part: The miso soup and the buy one get one for $ 0.01 on Sapporo bottles.

I’m not a fan of this place but my family loves it. We eat here several times a year and again my family loves it. The pricing is good and the service OK. If you like cheap sushi then this place is for you.

I used to like this sushi bar; however, today I experienced a little bit difference. The female manager kept coming more than 4 times in 30 min meal time to only me asking how everything was but she did not did this to any other customer. Since I was the only Asian at that time in the restaurant, I felt as if i should be pushed out for the in coming customers(there were no waiting one). I did not feel good about this and I am glad for this happening so that I would avoid recommendation for this restaurant to any of my friends who love Japanese food.

Worst service we’ve ever had there and Kristine even overcharged us by placing plates(or the person who sat us) on our table when we sat down and trying to charge us extra for them. I think it’s a total scam and they are probably doing it everybody. be aware! We just paid the bill because she argued with us so she lost her tip!!! Awful to lie to customers!

Love this place! Went here after work one day and it was amazing. The prices are dirt cheap and the quality was superb. The garlic edamame are so good here, I would come back for those alone. There’s a rotating sushi bar that is constantly being filled and circulating around the entire place. There are prices on everything so you know what you are paying before eating which is helpful. The customer service is nice. They are attentive but not overbearing like some places. It is located pretty close to my house so I will be back very very soon!

I used to love coming to this place. It was my favorite rotating sushi bar. I feel like in the recent year the quality and variety have gone down hill. You can order on items with the waiters for things you want but they aren’t on the belt. It’s almost mandatory to do that because I feel like they rarely even have popular items stocked on the belt going by. The staff was really friendly though and accommodating but the selection isn’t just what it use to be.

Oh Kura Sushi. This is the end of the line(or conveyor belt in this case). I used to frequent here a few years ago and usually had a great experience. Now…:-(( Service is slow, portions are smaller, items are not fresh, and the vibe is one of sadness. Special shoutout for the intensive cleaning of the sushi prep area an hour before closing time. Especially the trash can placed in the fish wash basin a few feet from the revolving belt and our meal. Yes, because sarcasm. I was hoping to impress my girlfriend, but that will have to wait until we find a dessert place. P. S. Two stars because we didn’t have to walk out.

Been here a couple of times and both were somewhat mediocre. The staff is very nice. The sushi is just so so, which I guess is expected at a revolving sushi place. The cajun salmon was probably the best. Even though they have a lot on the belt you can also order the same stuff off the menu if you want it made on demand. The also have a lot of choices in appetizers teriyaki, udon, etc. No Toro on the menu though and that’s my fav kind of sushi.

Food: okay. I have a thing about sushi and food temperature. The cold sushi wasn’t all the way cold… The sushi on the revolving belt wasn’t that cold either. Ordered two rolls and they were good though. Service: Nice servers but no one asked if I knew how this ordering process works(first time at revolving sushi place.) do I pull from the belt? Can i order something else that’s not on the belt? No one gave me a menu. It looked like w cocktail menu in front of me.

Kura Sushi offers a dubious and indistinct brand of Sushi, Rolls and other Japanese inspired plates. You can add Kura to the seemingly endless list of «conveyor belt» Sushi concept restaurants popping up all over Orange County, a trend I am not totally bought on. I know they put a microchip in the plates to ensure freshness and this method allows for instant gratification but Sushi Chef’s are normally plenty fast and I prefer Sushi made to order over cookie cutter options. Concept aside, the restaurant is clean and the service is passable if not good. The costs per plate range from $ 2.00 to $ 8.00 and the dishes can vary from decent to downright awful. The Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp and Albacore(both in rolls and sushi form) were better than adequate as were the pair of Salmon handrolls I tried. The«Candy Sushi» options eschew the rice bed altogether and replaces it with a bed of California Roll filling and I was not at all impressed with the sweetness, although those I dined with raved about them. I did however enjoy the Fire Roll and Shrimp Avocado roll. They were both simple, no nonsense rolls and perhaps that is where Kura hits their stride. Please be warned, the Spicy Scallops on California Roll was completely atrocious and had a disgusting fishy flavor that made me spit the scallops out into a napkin. That plate remained virtually untouched throughout the meal by all. Definitely pass of the Scallops people. All things considered Kura Sushi just just another conveyor belt sushi option in mid-county and a pretty forgettable experience.
