Omg no no no don’t waste your money all of it was completely tactless. Orange chicken was so tuff I couldn’t chew it it went straight to the trash, Mongolian beef no flavors, mushu shrimp all cabbage probably 4 shrimps in it, my dog loved it I didn’t. My kid loves Chinese and he couldn’t eat it either I basically threw $ 50 down the drain. I should have listened to other review and stayed away, wanted to give them benefit of the doubt well be smarter then me and don’t. I have never tasted Chinese food so tasteless and lifeless first and last time for me

Ordered for delivery out of convenience from this place. To my surprise there were no ‘party’ options. The food was flavorless(we got 6 different dishes), less than average Chinese food. Will not order from here again.

I’ve been her several times and the food is usually good… but not today! I ordered the shrimp & cashew to go for lunch. Great price because for $ 8.37 you get a large portioned entrée, an egg roll & drink — this is the total with tax! The food was extremely salty. So much so that I had to remove all the shrimp and let the brown rice soak up some of it and I still couldn’t eat most of it because it was just too dang salty!

I ordered it online and everything was perfect. Great portion size for the Lunch Special. it comes with a salad or upgrade to a soup(Hot and Sour soup, my fave) for less than a dollar! You could upgrade the steam rice for fried rice for less than a dollar as well.

I work close by & thought I’d try it out for lunch. Super disappointed… the fried rice has nothing in it but egg & rice, it’s not flavorful. My egg roll was cold and my Mongolian beef was rubbery and full of more water chestnuts than beef. I won’t be going back :(

The food was bland and pretty boring. But it was fast and close to my office. I will not likely be back.

This Chinese food place is one of a few I feel comfortable to eat Chinese foods in OC… as considering how picky I am! They make food with very low sodium & less greasy flavor… and tastes really good yet light, which I prefer. …Therefore, I got quite surprised to read their recent reviews, which don’t sound good at all… Are they changing since a new chef started working, etc??? When I went there last Sunday(2⁄14), I ordered Veggie & Tofu soup and Filet fish w/Asparagus, and I’m still enjoying eating them without any issue… just like I expected! …So it’s hard for me to believe those bad reviews… unless I experience in person… Anyway, through my experiences so far, I will highly recommend this restaurant especially to ‘health-conscious’ people, who even tend to avoid ‘typical’ Chinese foods ^.*

My boss got the Orange chicken. When I say that it was some of the worst chinese we’ve ever had, I’m not exaggerating. We shared the chicken amongst 4 co-workers and they all hated it. The white rice was dry and claimed up unevenly. The chicken had no flavor. We threw it away. I also had the steam dumplings but they were under cooked. The cashier wasn’t especially friendly either. Save your coins and go elsewhere. It’s very rare that I give such a poor or harsh review. To be honest, this place needs to either completely revamp their recipes and interior or close and make way for something better. Also, parking sucks at this place.

The delivery time was about 15 min past the promised time… But the driver did apologize profusely. I got the chicken chow mein, cream cheese wontons, and egg rolls. All are quite delish! Not too salty, still warm, good flavor overall! And also very reasonably priced! I gave special instructions on 2 of my items and they followed them perfectly! Since I have moved here 2 years ago, I haven’t found a Chinese delivery place that I have ordered from a 2nd time. I will definitely be a repeat customer with California Wok!

HEALTHHAZZARD!!! My food had a staple in it. I literally spit it out of my mouth. I called the restaurant to explain what happened and she wasn’t concerned. She said sometimes it happens when they are busy and stapling the food up to be delivered. AREYOUKIDDINGME!!! What if my child was eating and swallowed a staple? I am disgusted. Shame on you California Wok!!! Calling the health department!

First off you come here during lunch you’ll be fed VERY well. There’s plenty of parking and this mom and pop stop is always clean. You order in person or phone it in. Either way your food is hot and plenty. For a limited time all lunch meals are $ 5! If you like spicy, get the Kung Pao or Garlic chicken; Five hours later and I’m still full! Enjoy…

I love supporting local family restaurants, and I’ve honestly had better chinese fast food… but for the price, I won’t complain. Good portions for a good price. House Special Fried Rice(3 stars) — They filled the entire box to the top! I was worried it’d spill out if I opened it. They were VERY generous with the chicken and the shrimp in the order and I liked that the egg was soft and flavorful! But the rice was a little dry and could’ve used some more seasoning. But I wouldn’t complain for such a good price. Service(4 stars) — The service was FAST. As in, I called for a pick-up order on the way to my car… Drove for about 7 – 10 minutes and when I parked and walked inside, my order was already on the table waiting for me to ask for it. The cashier was friendly and professional. Good experience when you’re rushing to get your food for lunch! I’d return to try some of their other lunch specials!

Food is good but the parking sucks. The staff is not very friendly but again the food is good. The parking lot is 1000% full because if two new restaurants and it makes for a difficult experience. There are now two saved parking spaces up front but they are ushally taken.

For Chinese food in the area that delivers, this place is a relatively good deal. Delivery is usually quick and they never have issues finding my apartment.

Decent fast food Chinese place. The prices are decent, the parking is easy, the ambiance is fine and the cashier and cooks are nice. Haven’t tried anything bad yet. Had the sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, king pao beef and chicken, and most of the fried rice. Favorite is the orange beef. The sauce is great and the beef isn’t too fatty. Not a fan of the shrimp in the special fried rice, but the chicken fried rice is good. My favorite thing about this place is the cook everything to order and they will take out whatever you don’t like. My counterpart hates water chestnuts and carrots and they will always leave it out for us when we ask! The wait time isn’t bad either. Haven’t had a bad experience yet and havent had any weird or super fatty meats. Overall great fast food Chinese place.

4 stars for the food. 1 star for the service/policy. I ordered online from the Unilocal. My order was cooked efficiently. Food was great. But… we ordered for four people. They gave us one each of those super tiny containers of chili paste. I asked for more and you’d think I asked the server to wash and wax my car. She put four more of the tiniest little containers in the bag and tossed it, tossed it on the counter. She said they charge .10 cents extra per container… I guess it was too much effort to ring up .40 cents(hence the tossing of the bag). Also, on Unilocal when you order there is a section for special instructions — I wrote that we had four people and would like to share the soup. Could we have four soup bowls. In the bag? 0 soup bowls… none. Here’s my beef — if I eat in I can have as much chili paste as I want. But if you dine outthey make you feel like a criminal for wanting more chili paste. Plus, is it just me, or are you sick and tired of hearing«50 cents more…10 cents more…» Don’t make your customers pay for extra sauce, and if you do give them a decent containers worth. It’s really off-putting and honestly I will never ask for sauce again… and may not even order again… because this is the third time I’ve ordered to go and been made feel like a criminal. If I didn’t like the house fried rice so much I would totally boycott you all together!

Not going to trounce these guys since I’ve had some good dining experiences here, but today must’ve been the exception(which unfortunately is what drives us to do this usually). Today got my lunch here and got something more than what I expected. Had a long hair(9 – 12 inches) buried under my rice. Luckily I caught it before I started eating and was able to pull it out. Then, I found something weird and gelatinous in the chicken… not quite what could be considered fat… more like the consistency of snot. Of course, this could drive someone to think the obvious, but I am optimistic overall that this wasn’t targeted. Also, the broccoli tasted a little like soap, which I guess is a good thing? At least it was clean. I’ve had some good dining experiences here in the past, but today was not one of those days. This is more or less a heads up to check your food I guess before diving in. Guess I should’ve read my fortune first…“You will discover an unexpected treasure.” Boy… they weren’t kidding.
