Banzai Bowls

I love these fruit bowls a whole lot, they’re very pricy but worth it. However the one by where I live in San Clemente sucks real bad. They have a new manager and that guy has no people skills and is very arrogant and rude. My husband and I will never go there ever again to that store. I wish I know who the owner is. I go to the one in Costa mesa when I’m at work, and now I go to Bowlology at the outlet mall.

I’m sorry but this place has become ridiculous get some people behind the counter that can actually work I’ve literally been sitting here for 30 min waiting for my order and the 4 people in front of me haven’t even gotten theirs yet people who ordered ten minutes after us have gotten theirs already. Get some order around here this isn’t rocket science… This is why I go to sambazon they have a system that works…

Placed an order and had come to pick up my 2 bowls. Guy up front in the wannabe hipster beard/​stache’ was F/​N rude to me. I called him out after handing him 17 bucks and walked out of the shop to get away from the negative energy this place exuded, when I came back in to pick up the order there was a twisted smile on his face and I can’t even eat these bc Im convinced he spit in our food.
*Leaving honey and granola out and requesting on just adding more of the bee pollen + coconut does NOT mean its a substitution you dick licker. it simply means to add more of an already existing ingredient.
Never will come here again… and everybody else should NOT either.

The service was great when I went there. I don’t know what everyone else is talking about. Yes, you’ll have to wait 10 minutes or more for a Acai bowl, but they’re making it for you and it’s delicious and fresh. The staff was patient and took the time to explain the different bowls and which ones were most popular. I tried the Banzai Bowl in large in and it was huge. It was so tasty I was able to finish it all. Definitely going to be a regular here since it’s down the street from my office!

I’ve driven by this place many, many times but never stopped in because the parking lot is so small. Glad I did! Loved the beachy feel with the décor. Service was excellent! It was actually a lot bigger than I was expecting so I definitely feel like I received my money’s worth.
Fruit was fresh, coconut was abundant, service was quick, portion was large and flavor was fantastic. Can’t ask for more.

Love Banzai bowls. Comparing this place to the banzai bowls in Huntington Beach — there are no lines here! Quick service. But it may be because this place closes at 7 pm and we walked in at 7:40 PM and ordered our banzai bowls. Wonder why they are still open? That’s awesome customer service I guess…

Love the product, BUT HATE the lack of proper food handling, and cleanliness! On three of my five visits, I’ve seen staff handling fruit without gloves, then grab blenders, or attend cash register, then back to food handling. :(.
Also have wanted to enjoy my bowl inside but couldn’t because 3 pigeons were roaming around insider, another disappointment

Sometimes you have to wait and pay a little more for quality foods. For the past couple of years my order has been a Maui sunrise and an occasional cup of coffee. If you’re in a rush or can’t wait, call it in. It’ll save you time and the hassle. Sure, sometimes they may not be the friendliest, but I’ve never had a bad experience. This place gets busy! And each order is made to order. Cut them a little slack.

This place is sooo good and their bowls are perfection! I love far and have been looking for a chai bowl that I can get locally and they are just not the same. When I’m in OC I will def come back

I am happy to report that the last several times I was in here, the attitudes were completely different. Everyone had smiles on their faces and were eager to help. The food and the process was already top notch and now they have the people to go along with that! keep it up!

I will NEVER come here again! I experienced such rude behavior from the «GM» he had no qualities whatsoever! He never greeted us, kept us waiting & he was doing everything as if he was forced to do his job. He was unpleasant and I hope he gets retrained because clearly he shouldn’t be holding that position. What a shame. The bowls were okay. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Save your time & money (:

Hahahah. People who say minimum wage should be $ 15/​hr should come here and order a banzai bowl. Slow service, bad attitudes, poor personal appearance of the staff. It’s a joke that you can even call this place a business. We’ve been pretty loyal customers for the last 3 or so years but it’s about time to try a new place. If the owner is reading this, you might want to try and interview your employees before hiring them and make sure they can tell time. I’ve had gourmet meals prepared faster than your product (and there really weren’t even that many customers today).

Honestly, how you can give this place less then 5 stars? Every time I’m on 17^th St I’ll go there, and every time it’s will taste the same fruity, juicy, refreshing, heavenly taste.
So yes, you gonna wait for your order something around 10 minutes BUT that’s only because they have so many people before you, and they really do their best not to have this waiting time. They have many employees that work really hard and you can see they do their best to give you the bowl as fast as they can. This place always full of people! And that’s only because they so good!
Im alway ordering the maui sunrise. Yaaam the blueberries, strawberry, banana and shredded coconut on top of all of those they put some honey. Honestly, in a hot day nothing can taste better!
So if you are around and thinking if you should give it try, stop thinking you have to try it!

Honestly, I love these acai bowls, and I will forever return again and again to get my fix. However, if you are big on customer service, this isn’t your place. Everyone is so rude. Today, I was spelling my ethnic name out for the cashier, when he interrupted me halfway and stated that he was simply going to call me by the first three letters of my name. Sorry, is my ethnicity inconvenient to you? I wish the staff was less rude.
Also, they get super backed up on busy days (Saturday & Sunday mornings), so I wouldn’t recommend coming here then– it could take you more than 30 minutes to get your bowl.

Nice and refreshing! Had my first banzai bowl and got a half order. Couldn’t even finish it! And surprisingly very filling and it’s so good to know that all of this is healthy and freshly made.

I’m not a huge fan of acai bowls to begin with, but we were in the area and my friends wanted to check this place out. I find acai bowls really heavy and I pretty much get tired of the taste really fast so I never finish one myself.
My friend and I shared an order of the Maui Sunrise. It’s topped with berries, bananas and a lot of granola and honey. I heard this bowl has the most toppings. The acai itself was just a bit tarte but still pretty good. I don’t think I would’ve been able to finish the bowl without the toppings.

I feel as if I’m being too nice to give this place 2 stars when really it should only have one or none at all. My first time here was great. I loved the overall ambiance of the place, the workers were great, and the Bonzai bowl I ordered was really good.
But the second time around, the service was just ridiculous. The cashier took at least 10 minutes to take my order and when she did, she looked extremely mad/​pissed off, she looked like she was unpleased with her job, and she was kind of rushing through my order. At the end I asked if she could please make my order to-​go and she said «ya» then rolled her eyes! I was kind of whatever about it because I figured she was worn out with the shop being so busy, but that’s still no excuse to act towards your customers like that.
Awhile had passed and I noticed people who were standing behind me in line had received their order before me so I went up to the counter to check the bowls that were there to see if they were mine. When I grabbed one to look at it, one of the workers literally ripped it out of my hand and said «these aren’t ready yet.» Like, are you kidding me? I was so shocked that a worker had done that to me that I really just wanted to leave and not even worry about my order. Obviously I didn’t because I had already paid for it. He could’ve just said «excuse me those aren’t ready yet» and I could’ve said okay then left back to wait. But no, he ripped it out of my hand and replied with attitude.
It really sucks because I think the bowls and smoothies are actually pretty good. But, the manager really needs to recheck who they hire because I know for a fact I will not be coming back to this location.

Was really looking forward to trying this location since I typically go to the one in HB… Sadly, I will not return because d how skimpy they were with the fruit that goes on top of the bowls…
Every time I’ve ordered a bowl from the HB location, I’d have fruit that covers the top of the bowl. Here, I barely have 5 slices of strawberries and banana.
Pretty much disappointed and I feel like my heart was just ripped out
