The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is definitely an under-credited gem in Roscoe. Many native Coshoctonians only visit the museum for elementary school field trips, but the appeal definitely increases with age. There are three staple rooms: American Indian, American pioneer, and far east. While the theme changes, they have more artifacts than they can display at once, and they are constantly changing what is actually on display. The fourth room tends to be more Coshocton-centric, sporting Pope-Gosser china and advertising relics from Novelty. The fifth room is the special exhibits room, and can be anything from super-pricey quilts to school art exhibits to vinyl record artwork. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the gift shop is a great place to pick up a small gift for a friend or relative. If you find yourself in the Coshocton area, make sure you stop by!
