I really like Tomatillo. They have great variety. The fish tacos and great, and tacos or burritos made with chili are delicious. Go grab some tacos and beers and enjoy. And they also have live sports on the TV’s during dinner.

Horrible. Order of 8 entrees ordered at noon didnt show up until 1:30pm and they forgot a burrito. Food is overpriced for the quality and size. You can throw guacamole on a grilled chicken salad from McDonalds and get the same thing as their Taco Salad

Small Mexican fast food chipotle style restaurant that’s better than Chipotle. Nice enough staff, clean surroundings, and really yummy burrito bowl! I had beef, guac, lettuce, salsa, mild sauce, pinto beans and rice. Everything was better and fresher than chipotle!

Never order for delivery! Worst delivery service. I read all the reviews and I thought I can ignore it and since the office was nearby– delivery wouldn’t be so bad (note: I order delivery since I can’t leave the office). Food came 2hrs!!! And missing order. Food was ok. Fish taco was stale when it came and falling apart. Chips was stale as well and salsa was ok. Maybe it would taste better for pick-​up or dine in.

Big fan here! Simple, Mexican food clean, fast and fresh! If you are looking for gourmet or real authentic, go elsewhere but if you are looking for healthy, fast California /​Mexican, this place is great!

I wish the owners of this place had a higher attention to detail. I like a good burrito and good Mexican food and I choose to go here rather than Chipotle I like to support local small businesses. I’ve been going to this place for about 2 years now. Everything in the past has been ok. Last week I went in and the meat was old and not hot it didn’t look like the steam table was turned on. The one person working there was handling money and then food without washing their hands. They didn’t use a glove but you still should be washing your hands. There is absolutely no friendliness here either. 8(

Great burritos with all the options. I’m a big fan of the grilled chicken with the cilantro & lime rice, roasted corn, pic de gallo, guac, cheese and olives. A bottle of Mexican Coke finishes it off. Service is always polite and efficient, but can get backed up during the lunch rush.

I am always greeted with a smile and great service when I am here. The menu is very straight forward and simple but there are many different combinations you can order something different every time. The staff will always recommend something if you are unsure or explain to you how to read the menu. It’s very similar to Chiplote but the meat tastes fresher and there is more comfortable atmosphere. I actually want to sit down and eat here.

I still believe this place is one of the best and my favorites in Cos Cob. Staff is friendly and food is fresh. I would never eat not fresh seafood and I am pretty sure I would know. In fact one time I was happy to wait while shrimp was cooked in the back kitchen.
I love that they offer two rice options (spanish/​lime) and two bean options (black/​pinto). I go for the shrimp tacos almost every time loaded with pinto, Spanish rice and the works (cheese, pico, lettuce, sour cream). I have NEVER in the dozens of times I’ve been here had a rude or bad experience food or service. I love El Charitto as well and I in no way see these as competing factions from which you have to choose. I am upping my rating due to, in my experience, their consistency in quality over the year and may be influence by the Negro Model I just enjoyed with my tacos.

All I can say is BLAH. Wanted to go to El Amigo Felix but I forgot they are closed on Monday. Waaaaaa.

Love this place! Every time I walk through the door I’m greeted with a friendly face and someone who knows the things I love to order. It’s not close to home but myself and my family have found the drive to be worth it.
Can’t understand the reviews on the staff. It’s a self explanatory menu, however they never hesitate to answer all your questions.
Take the time to check it out. In high volume times, be patient. It’s totally worth the wait.

It’s like Tex Mex Burger King. Not hot. Not fresh. Not enjoyable.

Went there the other day with a co-​worker for a quick bite since I was in a hurry. Long story short, 1 star and I didn’t even eat anything!
Customer service! Customer always right! Don’t argue with customer! Any of these sound familiar in the employee handbook? Looking back at some previous reviews, unfriendly staff seems to be the standard here.
I ordered 1 steak taco, 1 shrimp taco and a side of rice. Girl who makes the food behind the glass divider obviously didn’t hear me and put rice on the tacos. Never asked if I wanted any salsa or anything. When I asked if I could put anything on the tacos, she replied nastily (real word?) that she asked me what I wanted and since I didn’t answer, that’s the way I was getting them. I told her I didn’t hear over the screaming loud music and she decided to argue her point with me instead of just asking me how I’d rather have them made. Obviously I had a good case since she didn’t hear me about the rice! No matter though with this woman. She was right and I was wrong. At one point, she even slid the tray to me and said «you WILL pay for these» after I offered to leave. I did end up getting stuck paying for my co-​workers lunch bowl since he was already served. His was $ 7 or so. I used a $ 10 bill and I didn’t get any change.
Needless to say, I walked out… One of the other girls there actually tried to salvage things and it almost worked except for the nasty sneers and dirty looks I was receiving from the first employee by this time. I actually took a picture of her while she was giving me dirty looks and told her I would use that as my Unilocal review photo. She threatened me if I did! In front of other customers believe it or not.
Moe, I know you have a few restaurants under your belt and your busy, but please find the time to train the employees on how to treat customers. You’re 1 of about 5 taco places in the area right now. I’d explain to them they need to bring clients in, not threaten them out the door.

I would give this place 0* if I could.
ordered on seamless for delivery at noon (confirmation from seamless came at 11.10 i.e. someone on their end manually accepted the order at that time). 12.30PM, no sign of our food. When we call, they dont even seem aware of our order. 10 minutes later they claim they are making it, and when we call at 1, they claim it is out the door. Food does not arrive till about 1.35, at which point the guacamole is black, portions seem incomplete, and lacking several ordered ingredients.

Took a star away because a co-​worker got ill a few hours after eating here. The only items he had — that we didn’t — was Spanish rice and the chicken. Anyone else get sick July 5^th from eating here? 3 out of 4 of us were fine.

4 stars for the food + 1 for delivery! As everyone else has mentioned, very similar to Chipotle or Moes with a few twists. We’ve had delivery twice to Stamford. Once it came in 30mins and the other took over an hour.
We’ve had burritos, tacos, burrito bowl, chili, and guacamole. Chicken, pork, ground beef, shredded beef, and steak all decent. Everything has been very good to excellent.
They could improve by: having more consistent delivery times, offering a Queso dip, being more realistic about size/​ability to cleanly eat a burrito with balanced portions of each flavor, not cover the guacamole with tomatoes and onions, add a splash of green salsa to the guac.

It is right next to where I work so i really want to like it buuut…
The service is so slow. It looks like it is set up to be like an assembly line and has potential to move along quickly, but it doesn’t. They forgot half my order which sucked because I didn’t have time to run back. If you are new in town, you need to be on top of your game… they’re not.
The food is ok. If the service was quick and friendly I’d go more since it is convenient, but if I had time and was craving a good burrito or taco I’d make the drive elsewhere.
