I got lucky. I managed to find a place to call home complete with acres and acres of green rolling fields, trees older than Cher, and wildlife galore. Yesterday, while strolling the grounds, we came across a rabbit warren. There were five baby bunnies and a mama bunny huddled together. We marked the warren to avoid stomping on it or shredding the aforementioned bunnies with the lawn mower. Today, it seems that mama bunny has abandoned the babies. We are leaving things alone for now. But, just in case she doesn’t come back, we headed over to the local Orscheln’s Farm & Home store to get bunny saving supplies. We got a bunny cage(no, we aren’t keeping them, just growing them up for release), bedding, bunny kibbles, and kitten formula(yes, you can feed kitten formula to bunnies). These folks had everything we needed to raise up the bunnies and set them free later. Of course, we’d rather mama bunny do it. They also have all sorts of plumbing and hardware, household goods, farm implements, and clothing. They are a modern day general store. They didn’t have the plumbing fixtures I needed to fix the kitchen sink, but would be happy to order it for me(if I wasn’t impatient).
