I set an appt with one the newer hairdressers because my regular one was booked for months. I showed up to the appt and the hairdresser informed me that I had too much hair for her to be able to dye it on time because she booked an appt right after mine. I specifically said that I wanted an all over color and that I had thick long hair when I booked the appt. so I had to walk out without getting anything done at all. Very frustrating experience.

Carin was wonderful. I arrived 15 minutes late due to location challenge. She did not need to take me but made time. She did a fantastic job with my cut, was professional and personable. The salon was very clean and updated. Every customer there seemed to be comfortable and satisfied with their services.
The option of coffee and snacks was a plus. Magazines and developer smells of other salons made this place an oasis. Felt comfortable and cheerful.
I would definitely and have recommended others to this spa.
The move will make the parking much better!

I will be going to The Retreat from now on, and specifically to Rebecca Duce for my hair. Yesterday I went in with years of brown box color on my head in bi-​weekly attempts to hide the grey strip on top of my head. It was uneven and ugly. Rebecca completely TRANSFORMED my hair by gently lightening the base to make it even and then a beautiful blonde weave to make it multifaceted and fantastic and healthy! Truly she is an artist, I seriously can’t remember ever being this happy with my hair before.
Thank you Rebecca for making this 50-​something chica feel like 25 again!

Went for a massage and was disappointed. One area rubbed raw, other areas missed. Was sore for days after. Would not go back again.

I’m always cautious about who does my eyebrows. I went and saw Rebecca today and she did an extraordinary job. My brows have never been so perfect. I’ll definitely be back :)

I have been going to this salon for hair care, a few manis and a few pedis for 10 years! I have received nothing hit excellent service. I like that I can completely change my hair style with a color and cut, and leave with joy each time. The service is friendly, the surroundings are beautiful (but I just learned they are moving to a new location! The old Darryl’s site! Yea!), and I always feel relaxed after a visit. Rachel Styes is no longer with them, but she was axing and changed my life a bit. Caaron is my newest stylist and I really love how she changed my look last week!

I’ve been going to the Retreat for 2 years now and usually have Tricia. She’s excellent! I’ve also had other stylists who are just as great. I’ve moved out of the area and still travel 1 hour just to get my hair cut. I have thick hair so it’s not difficult to cut but it’s really important that the stylists shape it correctly. It’s done so well that it’s a great «wash & wear» style. Each stylists listens and has the experience to do a professional job. I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about in terms of cleanliness. In my experience the salon was lovely, clean and bright.

First of all, I had to wait 30 minutes for a simple brow wax. Secondly, she ripped a huge chunk of skin off and I still had to pay full price for it. Never going there again!

My hairdresser is awesome but the salon is awful! Very dirty and rundown plus they have made numerous mistakes with booking my appointments. I’d love my stylist but refuse to book appointments because of poor customer service.

Wanted my hair styled, all got was «big curls» which is seemed every other stylist was going the same thing. Fell out within three hours.
Manicure — I asked to keep some length & then she immediately cut my nails off! Polish is coming off only after two days.
Meh…I’ll keep looking.

Not the best spa in Corvallis but it will do. I have had my hair cut here before, before I found Epic Day Spa, and they did an meh job. It was not the best. I had extenstion done also and a week later they were growing mold and falling out from her not making them tight enough. They always tried to sell me stuff after my appointment too which I do not appeciate. I did have my nails done here a lot and loved my pedicures. I had nails put on also. The first time they were great and had them filled. Then the next time I had them put on, 2 weeks later one broke, no fault of mine. I wasnt impressed. I will be giving all my business to Epic Day Spa from now on.

I feel like every other review I write is of a hair salon and I’m really, truly not that high-​maintenance a person! Okay, except when it comes to my hair. The thing is, when you’ve had a great, consistent, professional, fun stylist for a long time, your standards go up and naturally, all who come after will be judged against that near-​perfect experience (shout out to Prive in Charm City).
Having said that, I have been very pleased with my cuts and color from Kristin at The Retreat. Corvallis is a small town and honestly, I thought I’d get small-​town hair… but I was pleasantly surprised by Kristin’s skill and attentiveness. I feel incredibly comfortable with her — comfortable enough to speak up when my color didn’t turn out as I expected. I wanted to go a little cooler with my blond and the color I got just didn’t work on me. I kindly asked Kristin about it and she immediately came up with a plan to fix it. Truth be told, that first attempt and even the second didn’t really work but she consulted with another stylist and did one more toning treatment and the color came out just great. Luckily she didn’t have a client after me and we had the time to get the result I was hoping for. I really appreciate Kristen’s time and her willingness to make it right. I also think she appreciated that I said something to her directly instead of leaving unhappy.
Prices at The Retreat are fair and they have an on-​site coffee bar… nice touch. All they need is a complimentary glass of wine with their service and they would get five stars!
I would highly recommend Kristin and The Retreat!

The day before my daughter’s wedding, the bride, her mom-​in-​law and I had our fingernails done at The Retreat. We loved it and had so much fun! We got right in, and we each had beautiful nails for the wedding. Thank you, The Retreat, for your kindness and nice work.

I had special occasion hair done at the Retreat, with stylist Amanda. I was totally impressed. I asked for a low, casual, loose updo for a garden party. She executed it perfectly, and very quickly! She was also fun to talk with! And – the style was only $ 45, which was amazing for the quality of the style. I highly recommend her!

I go there every once in a while to have my eyebrows done. They are professional and thorough, but a little snooty.

Friday girls night! I hit up this place tonight with my best friend for a signature pedicure. The atmosphere was amazing! Our techs Heather and Sarah (? I think?) were chatty and lovely. Our pedicure ran long because we were having so much fun! It was totally relaxed and not rushed at all.
I was impressed by how clean everything was, even at 6 at night after a long day. The products both smelt and felt wonderful. The chair could have used a bit more lumbar support, but other than that it was really comfy.
Our nails turned out amazing, the paraffin wax was great, and we were very happy. We’re totally making this our go-​to nail place.

The nail technicians are all great to be around and Sarah did a great job on my nails.
Only complaint would be the front desk and online booking. I had to wait 10 minutes at the front desk before anyone came out to greet me and was then assigned to a different technician than who I booked with online.
If you want a certain person do not book online, as it was explained to me that online you do not actually book with a certain person. Very misleading.

I have been going to The Retreat for years and have had a multitude of services. I do have to say though, for anyone needing a cut and/​or color, Rachel is the way to go. She did a wonderful job, was very patient and nice. When I didn’t like the original color, she put in a little darker color (taking her extra time) and made it look great. After coloring my hair twice (kind of) she got me out of there at my scheduled time after even curling my hair (which I can never get it do). I couldn’t have been happier!

I had a pretty good haircut by one of the least experienced stylists there. I didn’t want to pay extra for someone who’s been doing hair longer because it didn’t seem worth it and I’m glad I didn’t go that route. I also purchased a conditioner from the Colour line, and was dissatisfied. They let me return it and get my money back even though that’s against their policy. I feel like that was great service.

If you’re looking to get your relaxation on and want the most bang for your buck, The Retreat is where you need to be — like, now! I’ve been going there for a few years for hair cuts, trims, colors and now purple glaze; no matter what the treatment or who my stylist is, I always walk away feeling fabulous.
I was lucky enough to get some spa treatments for Christmas and signed up for a massage — totally worth it; ask for Kristin!
