In short — great new American dishes with a bit of whimsy but not a pretentious amount. Excellent cocktails and beer list. Attentive but not overwhelming, friendly service. Phenomenal dessert(peanut butter dream.) Go here.

I haven’t been to 101 in a while but it was pretty good last time I was there. Dark but it has a neat modern feel. Food is different and fun. Service was a little slow but that could have been due to the fact that they were PACKED.

Best calamari appetizer in town!!! We have been there three times this month! Would like to see a more expanded wine list, but that won’t stop us from going back!

I LOVE their cocktails. Always creative and usually not too sweet. Their menu could use some work, but overall, not too bad. Go there for drinks and the food is only if you need something to tide you over. The atmosphere is very unique and perfect for a college town. It’s a great place to go with your friends so that you can hear conversation, but it’s still poppin’ busy. Very classy but still has TVs.

After 9 pm on Wednesday night, I approached the bar with hopes of a menu, drink and warm fare for my belly. The room was warmer than the fare I took home:(. The service was fine, I sat at the bar and the bartender, no name tag and did not introduce himself so assume the name on the check was correct, Kyle, was nice and offered to turn the heat down in the room. I asked for a recommendation between two offerings(pulled pork sandwich and the rib tacos’- don’t bother looking on the web, the tacos are not listed on the there at this time), and chose the one not suggested, and managed to eventually figure out if sides could be ordered a la carte or not… they can. Service was pleasant, like I said. Flavor was spot on. Bummer though — the meat was not warm. Not even luke warm. The tortillas were warm, the feta was warm(how is that possible when the feta is on the meat? and the meat is still not warm?) So, though I walked ½ a block to my hotel — yes, I got to stay at the Roadside Inn — that is another review — the meat was disappointingly not warm. Was it due to the knowledge it was going into a to-go-box, and it was after 9 pm? It was dry… however — the flavor really was good… and it was a nice combination that has solid potential.

No more NTN Trivia but still a great Happy Hour that goes until 6:30. Ice Taps still rule!

Pros: Good food and apps. Cool atmosphere. Happy hour till 630 and again at 10 pm. Chocolate raspberry sin! Cons: Crappy service. Been there on a number of occasions. Service ranges from poor to mediocre at best. When your paying premium prices for food and drinks the service should be exceptional. They really need to hire some new wait staff. Pricey, but the food and desserts have all been delicious.

The atmosphere is warm and energetic, the servers are friendly, and the drinks are fun. And, they have valet parking… how great is that?

Terrible food. The drinks look good, but unfortunately the food taste very old and microwaved. We ordered several plates to share and the only thing that was even edible was the celery from the wings.

Great food. Reasonable price. Outstanding service(Nathan served a lunch meeting/presentation under difficult circumstances and navigated everything better than any staff server I’ve ever seen… perfect.)

Came in on a Saturday evening with a party of ~20 that had been told we had an area reserved months ahead of time… We waited an hour and still had not been seated together. Our party was scattered in multiple booths or just standing next to them. During that whole time, no service was offered. Not even waters or apps. Then when we finally did get eye contact with one of the servers, the one that had our area came back with a HORRIBLE attitude since we were obviously inconveniencing her. 2+ hours in and we finally got our meals, and the tables we were supposed to have at 7pm, the whole while suffering through the eye-rolling & pen tapping attitude of our server to get our over-priced dinners that were mediocre at best. A few drinks were worthwhile, once we were actually served them. We were not comped anything for the inconveniences or bad service, though we did get a single apology from the server that wasn’t even supposed to be helping out in our area. I wish they had name-tags so I could at least let her know personally she was the single bright spot during the 4 hours our party stayed. All in All, we decided unanimously that we would NEVER come back. First time I’ve been motivated to do a Unilocal posting, and it’s to warn other diners!

Visited this one during the day, when it was quiet and not too busy. Best time to do so. Found out they have Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic on tap, so that’s the biggest draw for us. The food portions and selection were okay, not large, but prices weren’t too good, except during daily happy hour. I believe it’s 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. every day and the Pilsner is only $ 3.00 at that time. Nice, classy, and comfy décor. Good service, nice staff. They, probably along with Big River, even have free valet parking, due to the mess created by the new building across the street. When you’re ready to leave, tell your waiter/tress and your car will be waiting when you get outside. Nice touch. Be sure to tip the staff and the valet well! Will go again.

Came here on Valentine’s Day for drinks and appetizers while we were waiting for a table next door at Big River. I really enjoy the atmosphere in this bar, but it’s a little confusing when you walk in. There aren’t any signs in the entry to let you know how to proceed, which leads to a crowd of people standing and glancing around with confused looks upon their faces. A couple who walked in immediately in front of us snagged a couple of open spots at the bar. This did not make the party in front of them very happy as they had been waiting to sit for 30 minutes and weren’t aware that it was first come first serve(I know they had been waiting this long because the woman was very vocal about this inconvenience to the first unfortunate server who passed by). Within minutes, another spot opened up at the bar for us to sit at. I ordered the Matador cocktail and my husband ordered a pint of the stout on tap, which we both really enjoyed. We then ordered the pulled pork nachos as an appetizer, and they were delicious! My next drink was a Bloody Mary, which was pretty decent(I have high expectations with these drinks). We had a nice experience there overall, and in hindsight, I wish we would have just stayed there for dinner instead of going next door.

This is the kind of place you can visit for a nice date, dressed up, but you still won’t feel out of place if you waddle in wearing jeans and rainboots. I spent many a Friday afternoon here for happy hour($ 3 off the delicious small plates!), and despite the fact that we nerds were a boisterous bunch, the waitstaff was always very kind, and never rude about the inevitable clusterf*ck that is trying to split checks amongst a cadre of broke college kids. As much as I love Block15, 101’s happy hour has a better variety of munchies, and the beer selection is good enough that you don’t feel like you sacrificed libations for the sake of vittles. Also you can actually have conversations with people without having to shout! That is a rare gem for a bar in a college town. 101 is where it’s at — if you want to avoid the crowds, and the drunken frat-boys, and the too-greasy bar food that often ends up being the crux of all happy hours, come here. You have to try the cast iron skillet chocolate chip cookie. Everything here is wonderful, but that cookie is the stuff dreams are made of. I recognize that most people don’t go to a bar for a cookie, but seriously. Every cookie you’ve ever had in your life is a lie — THIS cookie is truth, and goodness. It takes about 20 minutes to come out, but that crispy-on-the-outside and soft-on-the-inside, sizzling, melty, ice-cream-topped behemoth is worth the wait.

By far one of the best bars in Corvallis. The atmosphere is cozy, classy and elegant however you feel comfortable wearing a smart casual(neat but informal) style of dress. I have been here several times and each time the service staff has been friendly and attentive. They are very well educated in their food and drink offerings. The mixed drinks are top notch and a great value during happy hour. The tap list is limited but beers they choose are usually good. The food is superb. Fresh and flavorful but a little on the pricey side, however I believe in paying a little more in exchange for a nice, quiet, tasty meal. Make sure you save room for dessert! They have some of the best desserts in town!(The Cast iron cookie and their cakes are a few of my top picks).

I was really looking forward to eating here. The interior is amazing and very classy for an intimate date. The service was quite slow and the drinks were kind of odd for«mixologist» style drinks. The bartender, mixologist, whatever didn’t really measure so that kind of told me something there. Ordered a pasta dish that sounded delicious, but then it arrived with about 50% mushrooms which were not mentioned on the menu. The server was nice about it, but I was surprised they would forget to mention that in an otherwise correct menu description. I might give it another shot, but the drinks were odd flavored as was the food. I’d probably come back to try the drinks one more time cause they did seem to have some booze in them. I think I just had a rough night there.

«Should we go to 101? Is it still happy hour there?» I’ve found myself in this situation many times before. 101 is fine, but I always walk away underwhelmed. I usually go with folks for happy hour because, honestly, I wouldn’t deem it worth a visit unless I was getting their menu at a reduced rate and I had company that wanted to go there. Such was the case last night. I’m underwhelmed, mostly, by the food. While it pops on the menu as sounding inventive and delicious, I often feel let down by it. Last night my friend and I ordered the calamari, the veggie quesadilla, and the primavera pizza. All of these were… okay. Just okay. The calamari was probably the best of the three and largely because of the flavor of the accompanying sweet potato ketchup. The primavera pizza was a step up from dining hall pizza… and that’s about it. Our drinks were good, strong, and tasty, though. But what is up with the atmosphere there? I look to my left and I see a waterfall wall behind the bar. There are fish glass cut-outs lit from behind on one wall. There are wooden relief sculptures around the booths. There are gigantic 50″+ LCD TVs in the corners broadcasting football. Wait, what? Is this a sports bar? I’m so confused. The servers have always been nice, but not particularly attentive. All in all, 3 stars because it’s… okay. And nothing more.

My husband and I went here for our 10 yr anniversary dinner and were pleasantly surprised with the food, drink and décor! We are not Big River fans, but had a gift certificate so thought we would give it a try. The seafood chowder was quite tasty as was the pizza that we got. The drinks were delicious. We had an amazing waitress who really topped off the experience.

Stopped by 101 for HH on a Monday night. Sat at the bar which had a couple small TVs on with the NBA Playoffs, cool. Nice Ice Bar feature to keep your beer cold, pretty fancy for Corvallis. The bartender was friendly, I asked her for a few suggestions and she was very helpful. HH is $ 3 off Small Plates from 4:30 — 6:30pm. So I decided to try the Smoked Salmon Crêpe, which was DELICIOUS! The crêpe had a nice crispiness with fennel and cilantro. Definitely not what I was expecting from a crêpe. I also ordered a house salad that came with a blackberry vinaigrette with added goat cheese. I would like to come back and try more of the HH menu, without the $ 3HH discount it can be a bit expensive.

I am head over heels in love with this place, though the bartender may not feel the same way about me. I apologize for calling Corvallis cute, but I can’t help it when you have such low priced drinks and little rules for carding people. Anyways, this place had that upscale romantic vibe that I was dying to find at Enoteca. I came here on the recommendation of my roommate, because she said that this place makes a damn good martini. But this place has so much more! I loved the décor of the place. Dark paneling, lovely chandeliers, the waterfall going on behind the bar. All setting the mood of lust and subtle sexiness. Then the drinks. So many great drinks, it was almost impossible to choose from. There was the delicious blood orange margarita, the tantalizing granite panda(I think…), and the absolutely enticing jalapeño and ginger beer drink. I loved sipping every one of them, though the jalapeño one was my favorite. Though one might get completely lost in all of their creative drinks, they actually do have food here, and it is on par with the drinks. I had the chicken lettuce wraps, and my guy had another helping of mac and cheese. The chicken lettuce wraps were like pulled pork, well sauced and complete melt in your mouth goodness. The mac and cheese also hit the spot, with the crisp cheese on top and pepper throughout the dish. If I could only eat one thing at 101, it would no doubt be their berry cobbler. Although I am a little shamed to admit this, let’s blame my unabashed drunkenness, I destroyed this dessert in less than 5 minutes. And I’m not ashamed to say that I fended off my guy from getting more than three bites. So freaking amazing! I am in love! I hope they feel the same way about me, because this is going to be my spot. Especially during happy hour.
