Nice warm décor with attentive and friendly service. The salsa that came with the chips at the start had nice heat and were quite addictive. The table side guacamole was a nice touch. I liked that it had a lot of lime.
For our main dishes, we had fish tacos, taco salad with chicken, and shrimp quesadilla. The fish tacos came in a huge crispy shell and drowning in cheese and served with beans and rice. Not great. Taco salad had a lot of heat but it was good. The shrimp in the quesadilla was really good but the dish could have used less cheese. Overall the meal was okay but I would come back for the salsa, guacamole, chips, and service.

Had dinner with 3 friends there and it was AMAZING from the fresh table side guacamole to the dinners and the waitress Adalid was super friendly. Great place to eat will be back the next time I visit Cortland

Our waitress brought one basket of nachos for a table of 6. She did bring another basket when asked that had about 6 chips in it. If we wanted more it would cost extra so of course we declined. These nachos were like chewing cardboard they were the worst I’ve ever had. The burrito was cold and the three cheese quesadilla was missing the third cheese. The food here is bland and way over priced. You’d get much better food at Garcia’s at a lot better price. Garcia’s is more authentic and Gringos is more like a wanna be.

I’ve tried both gringos express and the bar/​restaurant, they both suck. The food is bland, the shredded pork and chicken have no flavor, the burger I had was dry. They charge $ 3 for extra chips and salsa. What kind of Mexican place doesn’t have refried beans? The seating in the restaurant section is awkward. 17.50 for two burritos? I’m only giving them one star because they redid the bathroom from when it was the tavern, all of the decorations on the walls were clearly taken right from beer goggles. Lol, again this place totally blows.

These guys are off to a terrific start. The food is pretty good with thoughtful menu options. The décor is great, I can’t even believe this used to be the Tavern. It’s very well lit. The wait staff is pretty amazing and friendly, not to mention quick. The service is amazing all around. I definitely plan to come back several more times and you should too!

I actually went to the Gringo’s express. I had a giant burrito overfilled with marinated chicken, beans, rice, jalapeños, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. For $ 7.50, it was a hell of a deal, and it was delicious! The guy making it was hilarious and super-​friendly. I haven’t been in the tavern part of the place, so I can’t speak for that. But I highly recommend the express place!
