Called prior to going to the Acorn Grill and was told no corkage fee if I brought my own wine. After Manager Kelsey opened our wine she said it was $ 30.00 fee. When I asked that they reconsider the fee, Kelsey said it was NY law that required the fee. NY law does not require a restaurant charge a corkage fee. Food was okay and service okay, but try somewhere else if you can.

My girlfriend and I went to acorn grill while we were staying at the hope lake lodge. The food was priced about right for a restaurant at a resort and was good, but the service was outstanding. The first night we ate there our waiter was Paul, who obviously likes his job and people. He did lots of little touches to make our meal more enjoyable, and with every penny. The second night he wasn’t our waiter but still stopped by to say hi. Both nights the waiter personally wrote thank you on the check, not sure if that’s a restaurant thing our a friendly staff thing but it definitely add to the experience. If I go back to the area again I’ll be sure to stop by.

The Ossobucco with gnocchi was tremendous! The Bananas foster cheesecake and peanut butter pie were off the charts good!

The server was nice but a little unobservant and the food arrived in an untimely manner. We ordered rib eyes and a sirloin and each was improperly cooked, even after we had one redone. The drinks were made well but overall we were very disappointed for the price we paid.

What a nice, warm and cozy environment this place has! I have tried the elk burger and the chicken gyro and they are both amazing. I would definitely say that it’s one of the better places around town to get good food and a drink. They have free wifi as well! Kelsey the bartender was very welcoming and was very punctual with my orders. She had no problem making taking my order and getting me exactly what I wanted. I was very pleased with her service! I will definitely be back to check out the spa and pool! Great job!

2nd year here in the summer, and it keeps getting better. Wide variety on menu(linguini with white clam sauce next to an elk burger @ our table), fresh ingredients, prompt, friendly service. Great atmosphere and restaurant setting as well. We’ll be back. Extra praise to Tami, Crystal, and Raven, all very friendly people that show a great amount of pride not only in themselves and this great overall establishment @ Hope Lake Lodge, but this whole area in NY as well.

Only place to eat without leaving the water park. Bill was $ 150 for 4 adults and 4 kids, but only 2 kids ordered a kids meal. Calamari was aweful. Open face steak sandwich was laughable. The burger wasn’t too bad. They were out of 2 of the 5 beers on tap. Brought our food out 5 minutes after the appetizers. Would not recommend. Go to Cortland to eat.

I give you two for the service. Racheal was amazing drinks were ok after that down hill. The pork wings not bad first taste. Curry shrimp with crab stuffing uhhhhhh where is the crab??? And I could still taste the powder. Haddock in scampi sauce ok people where was the sauce? We came to hope lake lodge because of the groupon. Not a lot to do because I guess it’s off season but microwaved food and yes I could tell do to the fact I am a cook but come on folks it’s five hours away can we please work on favors and quality. I told the wife we should come back for ski season but she says no. Smh the place is so beautiful I want to give it another chance.

We stayed in the hotel for almost a week and had dinner twice here. Overall the cooking is fine. I personally enjoyed their steak cooked rare(though first time on Christmas was better than on Boxing Day). Did not like the wine, especially the one that was recommended with my steak. And the plastic glasses are not relevant… prices are obviously higher than in locals. But sometimes you are just not prepared to drive out the place…

I’m in between the two extreme reviews. The food was reasonably tasty, though somewhat overpriced. The pork medallions in Thai chili sauce was good and quite spicy. There are better values to be had at many of the winery bistros, but none are close by.

Experienced both catered meals and in-house dining here over a 2 day period. This one is an «absolutely never again» in my book. Our party of 9 tried lots of different dishes and the response was a universal«yuck». The menu is a mess — no clear sense of the type of restaurant it is: neither a kid-friendly diner nor upscale fine-dining place. It has dishes from all over the dining spectrum — both elk burgers and tofu. This restaurant doesn’t really know what it is. And the prices are outrageous for the awful quality of the food. On top of that, the food was poorly prepared, the waitress had no clue about what she was serving(thought orzo was rice, field greens were romaine etc.) and the plastic glassware was chipped and dirty. The pulled pork had large chunks of fat, the elk burgers were grey shoe leather(ordered as medium) and the buffalo wings were disgusting. This place needs a new kitchen manager, staff training and a clear vision for itself. Go to Cortland to eat instead.

This is a restaurant inside a hotel. Usually, that is a very bad sign, as restaurants would rely on their captive clientele, up the prices, slack on the service, cut the quality, and care nothing about the competition next door. Not here. The food is very good, locally grown, and lovingly prepared, although it is way, way too much. Our waiter Jannie warned us of the maximized portions. I had a «small» fillet with rice. Great quality meat. If you order that, please note that Brain the cook tends to overdo the meat, so order it a shade more red than you would like it. Jannie took care of that too. The staff is incredibly friendly and even the patrons seem to be infected with this Greek Peak-area friendliness. We were invited to join a family for dinner, just so. Be warned, the local friendliness can be addictive and a lot of visitors to this place end up as repeat offenders. Count me in, I will be back.
