Loved it. Not a real diner per se but it has the same feel inside this quaint small town café. We will return again. Had the ham and turkey club with fries. Ate the whole thing and loved every bite. So fresh. We also tried the cheeseburger which was also great. A ton of locals were in there talking about all kinds of small town Texas things from stolen laundry to oil lease strategy. Yea, we’ll be back!

My wife and I were in Corsicana for a little shopping. We were downtown at some antique/junk stores and decided to give Roy’s a try. It was a big mistake. I wanted a light lunch and decided on the tuna sandwich. I’m allergic to onions so I asked the waitress if there were onions in the tuna. The answer was no. I clarified and asked if onions were mixed in with the tuna. Again, the answer was no. Guess what, the sandwich arrived loaded with onions. I slid the plate to the end of the booth. No one asked if the meal was ok, but a couple of the other waitresses did walk by and give me a strange look. My guess is that they’ve heard enough complaints and didn’t want to deal with it. Here’s a hint for the management at Roy’s: Poisoning your customers is a bad idea. My wife also ordered the tuna. It was acceptable, but would have been better with fresh bread. The fries were typical frozen fries, and were mushy and undercooked. My advice to diners is to give Roy’s a miss and eat elsewhere.

I eat at Roy’s often on Saturdays for breakfast. Food is always good, service is good, prices are reasonable. A hard combination to beat.

Hometown diner delivery really good breakfast. Coffee is hot and seems to always be fresh. Wait staff are super nice. Has become a Saturday morning habit I won’t give up!

Roy’s is now open again. I didn’t have the opportunity to eat there before they closed due to I just moved to Corsicana. I heard everyone ranting and raving on how good the food is there so I decided to go. Well it was a big disappointment. I ordered an omelet and it came out flat and dark brown. The gravy for the biscuits wasn’t homemade like they said. My children had the chicken fried steak and said it was awful. Flavorless, doughy and tough. Our service wasn’t great either. The waitress barely stopped at the table and never asked how anything was. I said I didn’t like the omelet and only took 2 bites out of it and still had to pay for it. Sorry to say it but the Waffle House on 287 is 20x better. Great food and staff!

This joint is not at all like it used to be 15 years ago. My great grandmother and I ate here 3 months back and she got food poisoning from the chicken fried steak. I have fond memories of the way Roy’s was though…

Roy’s offers a true small town café experience. Triumphant bacon can be expected, but don’t get the sausage(unless it’s Polish). The hot cakes were average, IHOP quality. The coffee was good, and kept coming. All of the employees were very polite and helpful, although they did forget to bring out the milk we ordered. Few complaints, good bacon, but nothing to write home about.

I asked around for a good cup of coffee and Roy’s was recommended to me. I wondered in and sat at the counter just expecting to get a cup of coffee. The manager talked me into ordering food. I ended up getting pork sirloin and eggs. It was good. The coffee was great too. All of the staff was nice, even the kitchen staff. Nice local joint, local flavor, personal service. Good conversation, it was a to eat. Next time I am in Corsicana I will stop by here because there is so much more on the menu I want to try.

Roy’s Café, located at 306 Beaton St, was billed as «A true Corsicana Tradition Sincce 1928.» When I last had lunch here(abt 3 years ago) I found the food bland and unimaginative. I thought to give it another try this week but found that it had closed down in 2012. Roy’s Café now joins the ranks of the empty storefronts found in the downtown areas of small towns everywhere. It seems that«Roy’s Café» and«The Other Place» both have bland food so that may be a local favorite. I suggest if you want better food you should go to Albert’s Café on MLK and have a plate lunch or one of their FANTASTIC burgers. I would rate this place as «0 stars» since it is closed down. I would have rated it as «1 star» when it was still open.
