Charles A. Robertson & N. Perry Orchard, DDS

Robertson was my childhood dentist — I started going to him when I was probably about 8. His motto is «no-​pain» and also «this work will last». Everything Robertson has done for me — which includes fillings, crowns, etc., has lasted — I’m now 27. My family had a wonderful relationship with Dr. Robertson and he left such a comforting and kind and professional impression on me that I remember him kindly to this day… and for someone to say that «Man, I loved my childhood dentist!» is, well, weird, but it should be a testament to his superiority and gentle manner.
I remember the fly fishing paintings on the walls of all his exam rooms. I’ve spent countless hours — I kid you not, more than most adults — in those chairs.
When I was, oh, about 13 or 14, Dr. Orchard joined the crew and I began my visits with him, instead. He has the same kind bedside manner and the same calming effect. He’s always been very professional.
But it wasn’t until yesterday, when setting up an appointment with another dentist here in Austin that I realized how amazing the work Dr. Orchard and Dr. Robertson had done for me is.
I had always had issues with my teeth. I had a K9 which was a baby tooth, that permanent sucker just never came through (Well, until I was 24 and it popped out in the roof of my mouth. It’s name is Sharky.) I also had Flouride build up and mottling on the fronts of my teeth from, well, just because God wanted to test my adolescent confidence, I suppose.
In my mid to late teens I had a number of modeling opportunities. We couldn’t afford full on veneers at the time, and my teeth were going to be an issue. So Dr. Robertson & Orchard over various appointments as needed skillfully did bonding on the fronts of my top four teeth, as well as a build up on the baby K-​9 to make it the same size as my permanent one opposite. He made me well aware that these were not permanent fixes and would last me a few years, and that that baby tooth would eventually high-​tail it right out of my mouth, because, that’s what baby teeth do.
I walked out with a smile I could be proud of after years of feeling too ashamed to smile showing my teeth. I’ve never realized how indebted I am to them for my confidence. Seriously.
Yesterday, while describing some present ordeals and my future plans to now go through with veneers — The dentist on the phone stopped me and said «I just want to make sure you understand what quality work you had done. Bonding like this is meant to be an immediate fix to make your smile improved, but only lasts for usually 3 – 4 years, not like permanent veneers. You got 10 years out of this work and that’s impressive!»
She wanted to make sure I understood that I needed work done now not because I had bad work done then, but because what they did for me before outlived its lifespan impressively and I had been very fortunate. It’s simply that my time had come.
So — this is my review to say that Dr. Robertson and Dr. Orchard will give you quality, long lasting dental work, both maintenance and cosmetic, which will outlive even its life expectancy for anything that’s not meant to be permanent.
If I lived in Corpus still, I’d be their patient still.
