Authentic New York Pizza

Best pizza outside of New York. I grew up in Massachusetts and have travelled quite a bit. It’s been really hard to find great pizza, but this place is wonderful. If you’re ever in San Antonio look up Frio’s Pizza in San Leon. Just as good!

It’s a decent pizza place. They use too much bread for my taste, but did load the pizza with toppings. The garlic bread was just subway bread toasted with garlic butter. I expected more for the price. The service was excellent and they made the pizza fresh from the oven. I don’t know if I will be coming back, but would not object if someone wanted to go.

Pizza was delicious AND the weight staff was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and quick… They even had a piano player (Fri night) who dedicated a song to my baby, how sweet! We will definitely be back, plus if you check in with Unilocal,you get a free cheesy bread/​marinara sauce… Mmm!

We ordered half meat lovers and half margarita pepperoni. The pIzza was huge… they are not shy with the toppings! Very sweet and attentive staff. We will definitely come back when we are in the area! Also had live jazz music… always a bonus in my book.

I ordered two pizzas last weekend. One chicken margarita basil and the other sausage and pepperoni. I asked for thin crust. The crust was not thin crust by any means. The crust was still thick. Unfortunately both pizzas lacked in flavor. The thickness of the bread takes away from the flavor of the pizza. Unfortunately we won’t be going back.

Won’t win any contests on looks or décor but the customer service is out of this world! Soda comes in bottles and food is top notch. Wasn’t overly fond of the wings but the two pizzas we’ve had as well as the vodka sauce on the pasta was awesome! Owner comes around and greets customers every time which is a super nice touch.

This place is good for the area. I would rate a 3 star if it was somewhere else but since this is Corpus Christie and nothing is around, it’s a 4.

Ordered a pizza to go last night and it was HUGE. We got sausage, mushroom and jalapeño. I personally don’t like thin crust pizza but felt this pizza at times was a little too thick. The slices are so huge you can’t fit two in one plate. I loved that! I thought everything was delicious and will definitely be coming back again.

I wanted to like this place due to all the rave reviews but this place is an example of one overly ecstatic review that might’ve started a chain reaction. Upon arriving my order was immediately taken and while I was waiting I saw many people coming in for orders and dine in. There was live music playing which I thought was a nice added touch. The owner (due to the Unilocal review pictures) repeatedly kept asking the staff in the back every now and then if my pizza was ready, which I thought was a nice gesture. Once I finally got the pizza and saw it I knew it would be terrible. How you may ask? It looked just like a frozen pizza (I know this due to many years babysitting and college). What I will admit is that I went to SAMs club (my precious pizza secret spot) before hand in case this place was all hype. As many times as I’ve been to New York and have friends throughout many boroughs. I know this isn’t New York style. The sauce was very sweet, cheese had no taste and the crust was doughy. While I only had a cheese pizza, which I always get before going and ordering anything else, I knew if a cheese pizza wasn’t great then there was no point in getting anything else. However I gave the place three stars due to the managers who were very polite and the overall atmosphere they were trying to create. They seem to have found their business niche in Corpus.

Awesome pizza, come hungry. Not my fave but very good. A bit hard to find. Buffet didn’t look that good.

Hard to beat the taste of this pizza. It has great flavor from crust to toppings. We love to eat here because of the great staff and owners. Makes our family feel welcome every time we go.

However the best thing by far was the 16 inch meat lovers pizza.
OMG it was delicious.

First time here, staff and management are very friendly but I wish my pizza could’ve had more sauce. It was a bit dry and a little hard. Could’ve been because I chose to go with pizza by the slice as to getting a whole pizza. The crust was very good though and had a very good flavor. I would consider going back for a whole pie to see the difference.

It was very delicious pizza we got the Meat Lovers thin and crispy! I really love the flavors of the meat and the crispy thin crust! Yummy!!!

HANDS DOWN! The best pizza in Corpus Christi and maybe on earth. I am a pizza connoisseur, and let me tell you, they satisfied & set a standard for pizza in my life! Such good food! It’s a mom & pop shop hidden gem. The restaurant is kind of small and my husband and I were perplexed as to why because this restaurant is so good it deserves to be at the top of a hotel. Go here ASAP! You will never again settle for papa johns.

We were shooting a music video for a New York based band and the cast and crew was taken here to eat lunch. I didn’t even know this place existed. The owner was out front and greeted us. He wasn’t phased by the fact that I looked like a zombie with my makeup and costume from the video still on.
The rest of the staff was awesome as well. Very attentive and friendly.
And to top it all off when we got our (very large and topping filled) pizzas they were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place as the whole experience was great.

Customer Service was outstanding! Staff greeted us right away and made sure we were taken care of despite being packed. Pizza was amazing and soooo much food for the price. The chicken Alfredo was awesome too! Definitely recommend stopping by here if you are in Corpus Christi.

My bf took myself and the kids out to corpus to get away for the weekend. We stayed at a hotel for the night and decided to try this place for dinner to take back to our room.
We walked in and was greeted very nicely (I suppose the owner or manager?) and we ordered with a very kind cashier. We waited about 20 min for our pizza. But, during the wait we were greeted by another waitress and offered help thinking we were waiting to be seated. We also gotten a time expectancy from the the manager and he shook my bfs hand on the way out when he’d given us our food. They always open the pizza to everyone to be sure it’s what they ordered :)
Well, we’d gotten back to the room and I must say:
THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT!
It was the most delicious pizza we had ever had.
The pizza was huge! The pizza was not too crispy and not too greasy. It seemed just right.
Although, my guy ordered me garlic bread and it was soft and not crispy as I expected and it tasted burned. Even though it wasn’t burned. :/​
So .I’ll only be ordering just the pizza .
It’s a definite must that we go back for pizza here every visit here in corpus :)

OK… day two after getting another Meat Lover’s 16″ pizza. Heavenly pie of meat, tomato sauce and thick crust. There are some who will say that «NY Style» is thin-​crust. What the he** do *I* care about cultural purity in pizza? NONE.
This is just damned great pizza that sticks to the ribs and will serve 8 easily. I had two pieces at the table and should have really cut the second piece in half. They do NOT cheat you on the ingredients. We watched another table of 4 get a calzone that could have fed an infantry battalion. Believe me: there will be left overs. And the real beauty is that it microwaves beautifully.
The owner came by and checked in on us, the waitress made sure our drinks didn’t bottom out and the place was hoppin’…good to see that business is good. As we left, everyone in the kitchen waved and said «thank you!!» What a nice experience to have nowadays. A personal experience from people who give a dang that their patrons get a great meal and service.
Do yourself and family a great favor next pizza night… FOR-​GET the chains and get one of the best pizzas you’ll ever have from ANYP. Like I said: 8 adults could easily be fed by a single 16“er from here. TOTALLY worth the money… especially since it’s not a lot of money in the first place.
