The Modern Marilyn

Marilyn is amazing! I found her through Unilocal reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve been going to her for about a year. She takes her time with you and really listens. I get compliments on my hair every time she cuts and colors it. The cuts grow out really well too. I love the essential oils she uses to relax you while she washes your hair. And I love the new salon she’s at, it’s open air & gorgeous.

Marilyn did an amazing job with my beautiful highlights and fabulous layer cut. I have long naturally curly hair and it has never looked better. I loved the entire experience including the calming lavender scented eye pillow to relax my eyes me while she massaged my head with peppermint oils. She is a true artist, very professional, kind and smart. Hands down –The best hair color & cut I have EVER HAD!

Marilyn did my full head of highlights and lowlights as well as my trial bridal hair and makeup and both on the big day as well. The coloring process was amazing she went above and beyond what I had requested to help correct my transition from black to blonde. I have never been happier with my color which was really great since she did it a week before my wedding. Deciding what to do with my hair was so fun and I felt like I was in the hands of someone who understood both my personal style as well as current trends. My makeup was amazing. I always feel nervous letting someone do my makeup because I wear so little in my daily life, but she was so professionally skilled it was truly beautiful work in the end. I could not have been happier and really truly enjoyed my experience with Marilyn, she is an amazing lady!

I’m in love with this girl and her hair artistry! She does my highlights and roots and I’m super picky because I have a LOT of gray that’s hard to cover and blend. She figured out a way to color it where it’s not as noticeable when my roots are growing out. She also cuts my boyfriends hair now (he’s super picky too) and he loves her. Not only is she amazing to work with but she’s literally the nicest person ever. Oh and ask her about Nerium!!! She sold me some and my skin is looking AMAZING!!!

I recently had the opportunity of getting a blowout from Marilyn! My hair looked STUNNING!!! She is so amazing with her customers. Very warm, inviting and outgoing. You can tell that she treats every client like they are family! She is the only person I will go back to for blowouts now!

This woman is an amazing hair stylist. She has been doing my hair for a little over a year now and she always gets it right!!! I am someone who is very picky, I don’t let many people touch my hair, but Marilyn makes me feel good about being in her chair.
You tell her what you want and she nails it. She takes your suggestions and wants and makes sure she does exactly what you asked for. She will continuously make sure you are happy by asking you questions and you can be totally honest with her.

I am 73 years young. I have visited literally dozens if not hundreds of hair salons over these many years. I have never found any one hairdresser with a more kind spirit, personality and amazing ability to do with my still full head of hair what I want done. This amazing lady is a real jewel operating in a jewel of a place, Coronado, California just across the bridge from San Diego Bay. I so much recommend everyone, boys or girls to try this awesome young woman. You’ll be so happy you did.
Always insist for her to wash your hair even if you washed it that morning as she gives the most amazing shampoo and head and scalp massage ever!
