Building 575 — Rooms are tops: Newly furnished and well appointed. Building 1525 — Rooms are old, dirty, and there’s NO A/C! Seriously, folks… it’s 2015. Clean up the place and cool place down. Aircrew in crew rest? Good luck!

Stayed 7÷19÷15. The new rooms were great! Kitchenette nice living space. Easy check in and out, about ½ mile from the lodge. Our daily services were way under expectation. I had to go ask for clean towel one day. Trash wasn’t taken out everyday, bathroom wasn’t cleaned everyday while we were staying. Arrived to clean room. My guess is not a great maid for my room that week. Very centralized location. Private beach at the lodge. People on base really friendly and helpful.

I stayed here because I’m on orders here for 2 weeks TAD. Marylou at the front desk was nice, she gave good recommendations for places to go to out in town. The cleanliness of my room was questionable. The first 2 nights of staying here I’ve been bitten by bedbugs 5x. When walking around the room barefoot my feet would burn and itch as if there were athletes foot on the carpet and in the bathroom. Sometimes when I come back from work my room wouldn’t be clean. For instance, today housekeeping came by at 5pm as I was getting ready to go out for the evening. She didn’t want to clean the room so I had to ask her for fresh towels. She gave me an attitude like she was going above and beyond to walk to her cart for the towels. Horrible customer service!

I’ve been here several times. The checking in and out is pretty simple and easy. The rooms are clean, comfy, and all appliances work. Sure they may have outdated toaster oven/microwave, but it works. The room is plenty clean, clean sheets, floors, and clean hard floors. The price is quite reasonable to the location of the Inn. Outdated, sure, but the military is having budget cuts. For what this is worth, it seems to be a gem without anyone realizing it. Sometimes the cleaning crew can be a bit too quite knocking, but it’s fine. Keep up the good work. Also, there is free wifi, onsite laundry on each floor, and easy parking.

I have stayed at the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites on both North Island and NAB. I have no issues with the N.I. location. The N.A.B. location, on the other hand, has frustrated me on more than a few occasions. The rooms themselved are economical and always clean. My issue lies with the staff. I cannot count how many issues I have had from being transfered round and round just trying to make a reservation. I have been checked out of a room while I was working and all of my things went missing.(Their excuse was I had not been in the room for a couple days in a row. Reason being the nature of my job does not permit me to be off every single night.) My belonings were never found. Additionally, when the staff senses any sort of frustration on my part in these situations they become insolent and unprofessional. While I may become frustrated with the staff because of their lack of service, I am always professional and respectful. Either way, it gives them no right to become impudent with me or any other customer.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I asked the front desk for an address to have mail sent to me and she makes a huge deal out of it because I didn’t have paper in front of me. Then gives me attitude as she is writing it down. Like there isn’t a post it right in front of her. I don’t think anybody at night knots how to be nice. Highly disrespectful! If they have ever been employed at a civilian hotel, I can see why they are not working there anymore. Bad customer service when I checked in as the lady made it seem like I was ruining her day, bad customer service when I had to change rooms due to a huge cockroach(got sent to two dirty rooms), and bad customer service now. If I didn’t have to stay here, I wouldn’t.

Front desk ladies are horribly rude. The suites are surrounded by spider webs. There were webs in the seat cushions of the sofa chair. There were spiders in the room in the ceiling, floors and walls. I got a spider bite on the back of my leg from the couch and it created a huge rash on my leg that I still have 2 weeks after staying there. The door keys are cheap and don’t work. I went for a jog and got locked out of my room and rude girl with ponytail at front desk gave me a hard time. The next day I got locked out again. This time new lady at front desk said they have this problem all the time because the keys are low quality. I should not have been given a hard time for an issue they know exists.

I’ve stayed here three times, most of everything is ok, and I have stayed in worse places. That said, the rooms are ok if you get a suite, the other ones are old and have seen years of wear, tear, and party’s. The suits are clean and fairly comfortable. My frustration lies with the super slow or nonexistent internet and cable news access. They have spent several thousands of dollars on flat screen TV’s. I have TWO in my suite, with horrible local only stations. Good luck keeping up on current world events, or skyping with loved ones while you are away because the internet is wireless only and shared by everybody. Not secure. I have to put my laptop next to the bathroom sink and sit on the toilet just to check my e-mail. I called the front desk to ask for a LAN cable(like the book said to do) and the rude ass lady that hates her job(I have dealt with her before) was very stern in telling me WIRELESSONLY! Do yourself a favor and spend an extra 10 bucks a day and stay at the Navy Lodge that’s right down the road. They have cable news, and the internet is secure and in each room, plus its on the beach. P. S. I love my house keeper Ms. Eiles, and Will at the front desk who is super friendly and eager to accommodate.

If I could I would give this place 0 stars the most horrible experience ever. I had to go to 3 different rooms. The first room was just so terribly dirty after complaining they agreed to move my room only for me to get in my room and found another couple occupying the room. Waiting in line to get another room I get my third room and better then the other two rooms but quality of the room was still fairly poor. I would never recommend this place. The navy lodge is just right down the street of in the same area. I recommend call in advanced and I promise you’ll love it and it’s only just a few dollars more

Probably the most comfortable Gateway I’ve had the pleasure to stay. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Plenty of free parking an laundry is also free. Room Extras include: cable TV, Clock Radio, Coffee Maker, Free Wi-Fi, Hair Dryer, Microwave, and full sized refrigerator. The only downside is the rooms do not have AC or a heater. You are able to open the window and feel the nice cold air though. This base has alot of «attractions» like a bowling center, beach nearby, commissary, NEX, gym, golf course, free movie theater, pools, tennis and volleyball courts, track and field… and for you Starbucks fans… there is one on base! I will recommend this establishment to all who wish to stay near 32nd Street and be near the beach. =)
