I’ve been going to this nail salon for a few years now and it’s recently been under new management. I had French acrylic nails put on some 4 – 5 months ago and have now been fighting nail fungus on my thumb nail, as well as infections on both my big toes due to the over used the cuticle clippers with my last pedicure. Not happy.

I’m not sure what everyone is talking about maybe I caught these ladies on a good day and I’m not as high maintenance as some of the people posting these reviews. I am from out of town and no other nails salons could get me in. I was a walk in, no appointment and I got in within 5 minutes. They were extremely nice, had great customer service with me and all the other customers in the salon. Yes this place may be cash only but hey have you ever owned a business and paid taxes especially in California, if not then don’t judge. So I recommend this place if you want a cheaper priced pedicure and full service.

Hate giving reviews like this, but don’t want others to go through the experience if it can be helped. I went in for a mani, pedi and eyebrow wax. During a very rushed mani/pedi from which I have a cut on my pinky, I was asked to pay. The person who ran my card did not charge for the eyebrow wax that I asked for from both the person at the front and the pedi technician. I told her that I was also getting an eyebrow wax and she said, «I can’t run credit card for under $ 20, eyebrows are only $ 12». I told her I asked for it when I entered, she still said that I couldn’t do it because of the minimum. Only had cash for tip, so it wasn’t great. The place is dirty and they didn’t change the towels on my chair before the next person sat in it at the pedi station, which is just gross. I live locally and like to support our businesses here, but not this one again.

First thing we encountered was a cockroach running across the floor. The Employee stepped on it and swept it under one of the chairs. Pedicure was fast, not that good and everything was extra money. It ended with the employee pouring cleaner in the reservoir before I was out of the chair. Horrible experience and not clean. Stay away!

I’ve just discovered this place. It’s tucked away and easy to miss, but I think it is a real gem! The prices at Le Perruque are a few dollars cheaper, on most treatments, than the other«Asian nail bar» located on Orange ave. However, they don’t have the same range of gel colors. :( Pros of this establishment include; walk ins welcome(I wouldn’t bother making an appointment), the manicurists have decent skills, prices are cheap, the salon is clean(I watch carefully and have noticed that they clean and disinfect their equipment. The salon is dated and gives an impression of shabbiness, but this doesn’t equate to dirtiness IMO. The salon really does need a make over), the staff work quickly and efficiently. I have found ALL of the nail techs to be very friendly and try their best to communicate in English. I find that the nail techs don’t seem to carry on casual, chit chat type conversations in their first language with other staff or answer their personal cell in the middle of a treatment(like you find at other«Asian nail bars». They do speak in their first language, just mainly to communicate amongst themselves regarding work. Well that’s the impression I get, so you don’t get that paranoid feeling that they are talking and laughing about you. Cons of this establishment include; very small selection of colors, especially gel polish. They also don’t have a color swatch of their gel colors either, which i find frustrating, and the salon looks dated. I don’t go here to be pampered. I go to get my nails done and I want them done quickly, to a reasonably high standard and without chit chat. So, if your are wanting to be pampered it’s probably best to pay the extra dollars to go to a traditional beauty salon. Some beauty salons in the area don’t charge much more, but there is a risk you won’t get an appointment. Overall, this place is cheap and efficient!

This is my first 1 star rating ever. My daughter and her friend received the most sloppy manicures I’ve ever seen. The surface of the painted nails were bumpy and had a couple of dings, there were polish over run onto the edges of the finger. I told the girls to go back and ask for a fix or get their money back but young teens are too timid to do such things. I don’t know what the problem was, maybe, if you are two young girls coming for a manicure that’s what La Perruque would try to pass off as acceptable.

Went with my wife on a Saturday afternoon for mani pedi for myself and a fill for my wife’s nails. Friendly staff, efficient, reasonable price, and a minimal waiting time. We love to support local small businesses. It’s not the posh spa atmosphere that some might want but gets you what you want. Would recommend this salon to anyone.

I’ve been going to Sally for gel fills for years and could not be more pleased. I’ve also had pedicures with a number of the gals — all great. The receptionist, Robin, is unfailingly friendly and accommodating. I tried a number of places and I believe this is the best nail place in Coronado.

20 for a spa pedi in Coronado? Yes please. The girls that work here don’t speak much English, but it never seems to be a problem. Quality pedis for the right price. They recently got new massage chairs, which are pretty awesome. Good selection of OPI colors too. «I’m not really a waitress»? Yes please. They do take cards too, just make sure to bring cash for tip.

I brought my boyfriend’s little sisters in for pedicures and they were rushed and overpriced. I think they wanted to get us out of the chairs as fast as possible so they could get he next customers in. One of the girl’s pedicure only lasted 5 minutes! I won’t be going back here

Came in to get pedi’s with friends before our high school dance. I went with the spa pedicure for five dollars more. The place has alot of stations so we were all taken care of right away. She trimmed my cuticles and massaged for only about a minute. One of the most important things is the design. I love designs! So for five dollars I got the suckiest little flower :(fail. I can do better than she did. Oh well. Probably won’t come back.
