This is an awesome place. Came here for lunch with my wife and the lunch specials were great. Our server, Celeste, was amazing. She suggested the Mongolian beef platter and the panan curry(sp) and they were delicious and flavorful! Not bad pricing too. Highly recommended.

When my boyfriend and I came to Bistro D Asia, the restaurant was packed, yet the staff was polite and got us seated as fast as they could. Our server, Bridgett, had great food recommendations and knew a lot about the menu which was very helpful to us. She was attentive, polite, and made our experience at Bistro D Asia special. By far our best dining experience we have had in Coronado.

Nice atmosphere until the extreme profanity from drinkers in the bar reaches your table. Unfortunately, the food wan’t so good. The chicken pieces were dried out and tough(were they old?), and the rice was quite dry, too. Not what we look for in oriental food. Service was adequate, but not super.

The experience here is terrible. Singapore fired noodle should always use angel hair noodles, and this is what their menu says, but they served something like pad Thai. When we pointed out, the waiter looked at us in a weird way, and said«ok» and walked away.

After wandering around on Coronado, the hungry belly growl kicked in. My friend wanted to eat here so I obliged. Service was good! We were greeted and seated immediately. The waitress was very attentive. Our drinks were always filled. The food was delivered just as quickly. Food lunch special is a good deal. I tried the firecracker shrimp. Spicy shrimp sautéed with peppers and onions. The sauce on the shrimp was ok but had a different flavor. It could have had a bit more kick since firecracker was in the name. I probably wouldn’t recommend this dish. We also split the California Roll. Again it was just ok but didn’t seem fresh. In my opinion, you could find some better lunch options in this area. I would skip this place next time.

Went for lunch and nothing to complain about so went for a early dinner. If I wanted teriyaki to taste like a salt lick. This is your place. Calamari actually cooked well until you get to the mayo dip. Seriously? What is that about? Bartender was our waiter between tending bar. We have professional chefs in the family which I am not but even I can clue in that this is establishment makes more off their liquor sales then food. Unfortunately, won’t be back. Also, the salad is totally inedible. Was it shredded cabbage or lettuce? Could not tell.

Worst pad thai ever. We ordered Chinese food(family style) the only good thing was the white rice. Good service though

Once again– Bistro blows our minds. 1. How can the service be so terrible and a company stay in business. We waited 12 minutes for a waiter to greet us, 9 minutes for waters, AND the waiter forgot three things we ordered. I would be less worried about it except that this is normal service at bistro. How do they survive with this AWFUL service. … Oh, I know why, because we keep begrudgingly coming back. 2. The sushi is amazing. Every time we come here we start out angry and leave happy because the food is so good. One star tho– because everywhere else in Coronado– the service is exceptional.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant in San Diego. Great Happy Hour. Great lunch prices and lovely dinner menu. Always sit in the lounge with the bartenders, they are always nice and pleasant. Good memory ;) Food, again, best in San Diego.

Food is mediocre at best which wasn’t our issue… Service was the worst I’ve ever seen since moving to San Diego. There was not one other person in the restaurant and it took 45 minutes to get our food and had no attention from our server. Needless to say, we will not be back…

Three stars seems harsh but we did only try the lounge. Bartender Bob was friendly, answered some Coronado non-local questions and got our appetizers and drinks to us really quick.(Parking meter was running out of quarters.) Hawaiian roll was fresh and the spring roll was light with a tangy sweet and sour sauce.

My husband and I had some wine and appetizers during happy hour and everything was very good. Reasonably priced, good flavor, fast service and the gentleman behind the bar was very curtious. The one negative(but not even that bad) is that it’s kind of dark in there, very dull lighting(I know it’s for ambiance but it doesn’t fit the place).

Spent the day with our nephew, who lives in Coronado, and, when looking for a place for lunch, noticed that this place is on the Passport dining card(saved us the price of one entrée), so decided to try it. We were very pleased. We ordered the large Mixed Sashimi(yes — raw fish — yum!!) 22 pieces for $ 32 — a great deal!(Usually, at decent sushi places, you pay about $ 2/slice.) The sashimi slices were decently-sized, and were delicious, except for a couple of pieces of the octopus, which were too chewy and rubbery to eat. Beautifully presented with real bisteak leaves, plenty of daikon radish, lemon, and wasabi. My husband and I shared that with my nephew, and ordered the Mongolian-style beef(flank steak, with scallions, etc.), which was beautifully seasoned. Not a large portion, but it was the lunch portion, so was only $ 10. We didn’t need much else after the large sashimi platter. Our nephew also ordered the Chicken Chow Mein, which he really liked. Nephew said there weren’t many good Asian places«on island»(locals’ term for«in Coronado», which isn’t really an island, but feels like one, since most people use the bridge to get there.) He was happy to find this place. Dinners would be a little high-end for college students like him, but lunches are very reasonable. Service was good, and staff was friendly. When we are«on island» again, we won’t hesitate to come back here. We’re big sushi fans, and this didn’t disappoint!

Starting from the beginning… I really wanted sushi and waited until the normal place I order from opened. Unfortunately they wouldn’t open to serve until way later since they were remodeling. So, I looked up this place. Upon entering the restaurant, I entered through the wrong door. Lol. Please don’t enter from the side door. I wasn’t paying attention. Yet, the people who worked there were pleasantly nice. After I got my food, I dropped it before getting into my car. Thank you pregnancy clumsiness. The food was all inside of the bag. With my wonderful pregnancy hormones, I was completely distraught and wanted to cry because I’d been craving sushi all day.(I didn’t order any raw sushi, I know better than that). I went back inside and explained that I had dropped my food and I would like to place another order for the same thing. Once my food was ready, I was told to not worry about paying again. I have found my new place for sushi! I promise to not drop it anymore though. Lol. I ordered the miso soup and pizza roll, and both are amazing. FYI.

Pad Thai has been one of my favorites for a long time… Here, the flavor is there but missing bean sprouts. Chicken breast is too dry. Salad & rice came with the entrée during lunch. Salad is stale. Steamed white rice, why would anyone give you steamed rice with Pad Thai? Lack of friendly service.

Bistro D’ Asia is the place to go to while in Coronado! My top choices are the crispy calamari, lettuce wraps, extra spicy Pad Thai and of course, The Chinese Cabbage Salad! All are delicious and the customer service is always on point! We got to meet the owner! Very friendly, down to earth gentleman! After dinner, we went for a walk at the Hotel Del Coronado but afterwards, we headed back to the Bistro for some dessert and wine! We shared a slice of Chocolate Mousse Cake! Delicious! I’ll post pictures later because my phone won’t let me upload them! Go check it out while you’re in Coronado! You will not be disappointed! Full bar and sushi too! Enjoy!

The ambiance was very beautiful. Full bar offered, indoor and outdoor seating. Great for a family dinner or a date. The staff was wonderful and quick. The sushi was alright. Had one sushi roll that was good and another that just didn’t taste good. I love sushi and eat it often but it wasn’t the best here. I would dine again to try other dishes.

I like Bistro D’Asia. I haven’t tried everything. Some of the Sushi dishes I have tried are great!!! I think with this restaurant some dishes are great some are good and some are ok(it depend on what you like). The service is fine. The location(coronado) and atmosphere are great.

Went Coronado for riding bicycle. Friend couple joined us and took us to this restaurant. Interior was not casual, but it was comfortable ambience with kids too. Got Sapporo draft and several dishes, such like cheese crab wontons, fried rice, Mongolian BBQ and stir shrimp. Taste was almost good… but pricy. Almost individual dishes were $ 20. But kiss meal was a great deal($ 5) 4 of us’s check was almost $ 200, but we drunk 10 of Sapporo draft. Waiter was pretty much attentive and we had a great time to talk. Only bad thing is almost menu is pricy except kids meal:)

This place walked the wok. As the name indicates«Bistro D’Asia» is le restaurant n’est ni un Bistro français ni un restaurant asiatique complet. The menu is Asian fusion(China-Korea-Japan-Vietnam-Thailand-SE Asia, that is… not Turkey, Iran, South Asia, Philippines Asia). The un-beatable Coronado Island location cerca de la banco de America and other affluent shops makes it enjoyable to visit here. However, the Chinese-Vietnamese-veggie-Japanese-Korean cuisine twist defuses the taste a little bit. What I mean is, if you go for Hunan in San Francisco somewhere, you will get a very good Hunan. Here, I would say, the décor is good, the ambiance is excellent, but the focus on the food gets watered down. The Siam lettuce wrap was OK. The lettuce is cool, shrimp could be fresher and the bamboo shoots crunch. It was a fine starter. Our neighboring table looked like they were enjoying their pot stickers. The egg drop soup that I had, was not spectacular, but was filling. What was a bit different was some of the salads, where it appears there were some Asian-Asian-fusion thing happening. Bankok meets Canton? Try the Thai sweet-n sour. Same thing with their steamed dishes, where there were attempts at getting Mekong HCMC cuisine ambiance in place. However, when I was in HCMC last year, I didn’t really see anything resembling things like Mekong Sea food or Vietnamese White fish. I ate near the open market at some early-plastique-decorated open restaurant, having some fish, while avoiding my foot from getting hit by the endless stream of motorbikes. However, here I’d give them a star for inventiveness. There’s a Sushi bar which we didn’t try. We decided to keep to a «noodles» theme that night so… my cousins tried the Singapore style rice noodles. These were of the angel hair rice noodle variety that were stir-fried with curry or could, at your request, sans curry. I had the Pad Thai rice noddles. The Mei Fun rice noodles were stir-fried with chicken and shrimp. I did like the bean sprouts and eggs mixed with sweet-and-sour fish sauce with a bit of Thai basil /crushed nuts. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening trying out food whose ingredients wouldn’t normally meet in a wok.
