Poor, slow service and there really is disgusting crap in the table crevices like that one pic. Got here over an hour before closing and was treated like we rolled in at closing time. Ordered the Greek salad minus the cheese. It was tasty but it wasn’t a salad in the proper sense because it has no lettuce. I don’t recommend it as a meal.

Food in the restaurant was ok but the food for the conference I attended was good. Service here is good and would give another star for that.

Still waiting for our food. It’s been half an hour and we haven’t even received our drinks(took them 20 minutes to come over to our table). The table is gross, clearly no one has lifted the glass to clean between the base and the glass table top in a long time. I am alone with two kids under 5 and the restaurant is about 30% full with plenty of wait staff. Completely ridiculous that I’m waiting so long. I’m an optimist by nature so I’m actually giving this place 2 stars instead of just 1. I expect my over priced salad, whenever it arrives, will be excellent. I have edited this review to one star. My entrée salad is the size of a side salad(although it is decent in taste). I realized if I was seriously contemplating leaving before our food(finally) arrived(which I have never done before), 2 stars was too many. Coronado has many good places to eat. This is not one of them.

Was here for a bday celebration w 7 people. .tip was added in automatically and I disagree w that. service was not amazing and I think they don’t care because the tip is already added in so they don’t have to give good service. .I’m happy to tip very well if deserved. .very disappointed, won’t be back.

Great Easter breakfast. Great view. Slow service… probably since it was Easter. I was lucky to even find last-minute reservations.

Not a terrible dinner… Fish tacos were good, but rice and beans were interesting… Not my taste… Very plain… Service, though, was SOOOOSLOOOOOW. There were only a handful of patrons, and I think I saw three waiters, but it took forever for everything.

Sad to say the food is not good. We all tried multiple dishes and they were average at best for the high price. Too bad because that hotel is so beautiful, the employees are great. They need to hire a new head chef.

We waited til just before getting up to see if there was a waiter before having a waitress run by our table. We started with the meat and cheese plate. Surprisingly it was one kind of meat, one kind of cheese and 4 very good crackers. Only four.lol. I ordered the bbq salmon which was dry and came with polenta. Just discovered that polenta is like a worse version of grits. My dinner partner had the special which wss halibut with mashed potatoes, lucky dog. Dinner took forever. Our waitress was so rushed she must have been straight out of some diner. We took our dessert, bread pudding with dulce de leche ice cream back to our room. It was just ok. The bill was very high for the food and service quality.

We ate here five years ago on summer vacation and loved the food. They had this amazing grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque soup. We ate here every day of our vacation for breakfast and lunch. Went to Current this morning for breakfast and were disappointed to see that the restaurant has gone down hill. I had the eggs benedict and it was aweful. No flavor at all, it may qualify as the most bland i have ever had. My husband had the heuvos rancheros and he liked them. My daughter had pancakes which were ok. $ 7 for a side of obviously frozen sausage patty is not worth it. We personally dont like starbucks coffee because it tastes burnt and no amount of cream can change that. Service was great and all the staff were super friendly. Apparently kids under three years old eat free if they order certain items on the menu. That was super nice. :) With tip, $ 61. Breakfast was not worth that amount. We will be eating out the rest of our trip. If breakfast was that underwhelming i’d hate to see how lunch and dinner are.

Tried this place out just because it was inside the hotel and I was not impressed whatsoever. Food is over priced and for being that pricey you would think it would be delicious and better quality food. My sandwich was decent, a bit over cooked and the fruit was terrible. I know not all fruit is in season but this looked like the bottom of the barrel scoop of fruit that was not ripe, a bit mushy. My strawberries were pink and white, the watermelon and melon/cantaloupe were all mushy which usually means it’s been in a container and shuffled around a bit. Also service was mediocre, under staffed but you would think when our plates are taken away and we are left with just our drinks… that are empty, that a check would be delivered. We had to flag our server down, 10mins later. That was an exhausting meal. Next time, eat out!

Good hotel but bad restaurant. I think they are just cashing out on the hotel guest traffic that has a high likelihood of trying this restaurant. My experience: the margarita flat bread came out in 2 mins. It was also cold. So I was sure that they served me a pre-made flat bread. Nobody can bake a pizza style flatbread as fast as these guys did. Didn’t return it fearing they might spit in my food or something :-). Hummus was ok, the accompanying bread was below average. Cheese pizza was HORRIBLE. The salad was flavorful but full of old semi-rotten leaves. All-in-all, pretty bad place for food.

Wonderful outdoor patio dining with great views of the bridge and San Diego Skyline across the water. Although it can get a little chilly after dark, the fire pit and the propane heaters keep you comfortable. Nice menu with plenty of variety. They are very accommodating in regard to making changes to the menu items. Had dinner there twice during our vacation and absolutely loved the turkey burgers from the burger bar section of the menu. Regular fries and sweet potato fries were also very good. On the other visit for dinner we enjoyed the grilled chicken breast and salmon. Service was outstanding at both dinner and breakfast. One of our favorite restaurants on Coronado!!!

We stayed at the Marriot and wandered in here for the breakfast buffet. It’s typical American breakfast items. As with everything on the island, you pay a premium for location and convenience. I felt that the premium is higher here than at other restaurants. The food is slightly better than Denny’s, but at more than double the price. It was good, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that you just paid ~$ 25/person for basic breakfast. Location and convenience is the only reason to come here and pay the large premium.

The views and the friendly aquatic fowl wandering about the tables outside do make for a pretty nice setting, in what would normally be a humdrum restaurant attached to a hotel. The staff are friendly in the busy California way, but are quite efficient. The food is very serviceable and well composed, except the kitchen never seems to pay attention to any exceptions… especially for lunch. They do seem to get busy, so I cut them some slack, but its almost like they absolutely and completely ignore stuff like«no dressing» or «no fried stuff» on salads or on entrees if you ask for sauce on the side. But at least whatever comes out is pretty tasty and good. Salads always taste fresh and truthfully the greens or lettuce or whatever is not drenched in dressing. Definitely an okay place to have lunch and happy hour when staying at the hotel.

Location Location Location Other than that, pretty mediocre… Pros: Location, if you’re in the hotel and too lazy to go out it’s convenient. Location again, sitting on the well heated patio you’re looking at the bay. Service was good. Cons: Food, the 1 bone chicken was bland and appeared to be fried. Salmon was a 6oz portion on a bed of grits w/BBQ sauce. I typically like creative meals, but this was just and odd combination. as you’d expect due to the location, way overpriced for the meal. Will not return, unless of course I need the location:)

Very overpriced meal for the quality of food. We were staying at the Marriott and we were too lazy to go out for dinner after a long day so we decided to try the Current, located inside the Marriott. The one great quality of this restaurant is the outdoor seating with a beautiful view. We ordered the fried macaroni, steak sandwich, and a burger. Overall, everything was just ehhh. Not disgusting but nothing worth mentioning. The only thing that saved my meal was the fries… which were pretty damn good. Don’t think this place is worth the money, you can find much better food at better prices at ferry landing.

We enjoyed the breakfast on the outside patio with the beautiful view of the bay and downtown San Diego. The berries plate was delicious and plentiful. The huevos rancheros were ok, I love poached eggs and it wasn’t perfection. The good start breakfast is oatmeal and bread and seems overpriced at $ 14. Mimosas were ok. Cappuccino really wasn’t cappuccino but warm milk with drip coffee. Overall we enjoyed the experience but I really can’t rave about the food. If we go back tomorrow it’s going to be for convenience rather than craving.

On our first day at the resort, we went to this restaurant for evening coffee/snacks and also for dinner. We ordered the Hummus and Shrimp cocktail. The hummus was creamy and the bread was so soft. The Shrimp cocktail had enough shrimp but the chips were pretty stale with bad oil smell, so did not have them. They did serve bread which was crunchy but I liked it with the soft butter. For dinner, hubby ordered the fish of the day which was the halibut and I had the vegetable risotto. The risotto was divine with lots of veggies. Went well with the wine we ordered. YUM. There were propane heaters for every table becos it does get a little chilly even in the summers. Great night time view. Good food and wine, friendly service and a great view made the dinner memorable. The best of all is the breakfast buffet they have. Its $ 24/person. Its pricey but they have very good quality stuff in there — fresh baked goods, bacon-sausage, oatmeal, an omelette and crêpe/waffle station, fresh cut fruits and fresh fruit juices/coffee. Loved the crème brûlée in shot glasses. The waiters during the morning breakfast are very busy but still take good care of all the guests. One of them recommended the cholula sauce instead of the Tabasco. Cholula is spicier with less vinegar in it. A good tip becos I don’t like Tabasco. Got it as soon as I got home :-)

Stayed at the Coronado Marriott and came down for their Sunday brunch buffet. Food was pretty tasty, although not a lot of variety, still enough to cover most of everyone’s taste buds. We did like that a chef will make you an omelette or waffles any way you want. The service was ok. Our waiter, for some reason, was waiting tables both inside and outside on the patio. So we didn’t get to see him as often as we’d like. If it weren’t for this, we would have gave this place 4 stars.

My wife and I are living in Coronado and having a blast! We’ve been frequencing Candella’s, Il Fornaio and Saiko Sushi but we’re for looking for a new spot on a Saturday night. We only had our babysitter for four hours so we wanted to stay on the Issalnd. We decided to go next door to the Marriot because we’ve heard good things about Current and we wanted to be in walking distance in case we decided to have more than two. ha ha. We weren’t dissapointed. We went during happy hour which goes from 4 – 6 and then restarts at 9pm 7 days a week. I had a Coronado Golden draft and my wife had a glass of Le Terre which she enjoyed. We started out with the Samurai mix which is an average snack mix that they carry at Albertson’s, Vons, etc. It was a nice mix for a happy hour but we prefer the mix at the Del. They had a huge flat screen in the bar and they were playing an NCAA game which was nice. We ordered the pork tacos which were really nice. All in all we may be back but it was nothing to write home about. Not sure how those letters go anyways(Dear Mom…) The biggest plus about Current is definately the service. The Marriot has a creed which goes something like. treat every customer like they own the place… and it shows. Everybody was really nice and the service was definately top notch. If we decide to go back it will be for the service.
