Minka Group – Ceiling Fans & Lighting

We have literally only ran our Minka Aire Flyte ceiling fan in our breakfast nook a total of 20 hours over the past ten years. Though it is 10 years old, it should not go bad, just hanging from the ceiling. We use the enclosed light a lot, but rarely utilize the fan.
Our electrician came out and tested it, and determined that there is a short circuit within the head of the fan.
For $ 600, one would expect a fan this expensive to last a lifetime. We have another popular brand of home improvement store ceiling fans (and way cheaper) in each of our bedrooms that run all night during the summer & winter months — they are over 20 YEARS OLD, without a hitch or squeak !
Very disappointed by the quality and durability for $ 600.

Minka Aire contacted me to explain that their motors have a LIFETIME WARRANTY. I am shipping my unit back to them for repair or replacement.
I will update my review once all the dust has settled!
