I highly recommend Lainie. She is a miracle worker. I have kind of wavy/​frizzy hair that’s not easy to deal with but I get so many compliments after I get my hair done. Lainie is the only one who has been able to do both a good cut and color on my hair.

I’ve been going to this salon for several years after a recommendation from a friend who has been a customer for over ten years. The owner Gary is not only professional and a class act, but also an incredibly sweet person and a top rated stylist. I have had color and cuts done here and I am impressed with the quality every single time. Marlene and Dominique always give me the star treatment and not to mention the best blowouts ever!

Brittany is such a sweetheart. She is such a patient and great hair stylist. I came in so nervous and she really took the time to answer all my questions (and tons of texts). I’ve tried quite few different hair studios and stylists before finding Strands and Lainie Middleton. Lainie is by far the best! Her root boost makes my color last so much longer and the way she cuts my hair is perfect (which can be quite challenging since I have very fine hair). I’ve never had so many compliments. I went on 11÷11÷14 as a new client. My primary reason for choosing to go to Strands: the Unilocal reviews were good and it was close to my house. I called in early and asked for a hair cut and let them know I was a new client.
When I got there, I was greeting very politely and Gary, the owner introduced himself and let me know he was going to be cutting my hair. We briefly went over my current state (my hair needed love) vs where I want to be at. I let Gary take the wheel and drive with it.
I absolutely love my new haircut and the salon’s environment. Everyone was sweet and we shared a few laughs over TLC shows. Definitely going back.

This cute, quaint hair salon is a hidden gem in CdM. Great ambience (clean modern décor with great light), great products (Bumble & Bumble is one of my favs) and great stylists (I recommend Gary the owner)!
Each of the stylists has different specialties for the range of hair challenges that people face, which makes the salon very dynamic in helping you with whatever your hair woes may be while still maintaining a good small salon vibe.
It’s on the southend, beach-​side of CdM so slowdown and keep your eyes peeled towards the end of CdM or you might miss it driving by. :)

I’ve gone to Brittany S. two times now for color and a cut and I love her work with my hair! It’s been difficult finding a hairstylist that I like that is affordable to go to every couple of months. Her prices are fair and she always does an amazing job. I walk out loving my hair, and when my hair grows, it keeps the cut — making it so I don’t have to go in every few weeks!
I’d recommend Brittany to anyone. She is also super sweet and friendly, and won’t talk your ear off! :)

This was the second time to Strands after a long year. Marlene was nice enough to take me in on a super last minute request for a weekend appointment.
I walked in and sat down in her chair saying I wasn’t sure exactly how to describe what I was looking for, but just looking to get that «summer» hair look but still nothing to drastic. You would think with the vague description that things could have gone awfully wrong.
But nope! I trust Marlene and her ability to just naturally understand what I’m looking for. Then with her expertise, she gives me exactly what my hair needs and creates an the perfect definition of what I was looking for.
