When I concluded my appointment in late October, I was told I could not book an appointment in the rest of 2013, first because the owner was having a baby(even though she was not the one who did my services) and then second because they usually closed around Christmas. Although it was an inconvenience, I at least kind of understood both circumstances. The only other place in Corning proper which does waxing was $ 15 more for the same services. Not cool. Anyway, I called again recently to see if I could book an appointment now that perhaps both the baby and holiday scheduling issues were past. Sadly, the number was disconnected, so I can only assume they’re no longer operating.

First I want to offer full disclosure. I am sensitive to smells and this place does chemical nail work in extremely cramped conditions(it’s a charming old building that seems like it used to be a family home.) So, getting the nails done there for just regular old buff or paint is not so great for the schnoz. A spa should be relaxing to all the senses. The massage was not good. I’ve been spoiled by Jana Lynn at Massage Cottage, so the therapist at The Spa seemed like she’d memorized some massage steps and was simply going through the motions. I hate when that happens! They were nice there. They get two stars because they were organized, on time, and seemed to try hard but something was missing.
