Evergreen Express Chinese Restaurant

Walked in before 2 pm to get a lunch combo special. There was 1 person in front of me picking up a call-​in order. When I approached the counter, I waited an additional couple of minutes, as they were now on the phone taking an order. When I was able to order, I ordered a lunch combo and was told it was after 2 pm and that I could not get the lunch combo anymore. I looked at my watch, and it was 2:04 pm.
Okayyyy…well I can live with that, I was hungry, just wanted lunch, and had no time to spend debating the situation. However, that is very poor customer service, and doesn’t make me inclined to want to return or recommend to others.
There are many other places to eat on Market St that are much more customer oriented.
Food was mediocre at best. Ordered Hot & Spicy Chicken and it was a neon red color and no hint of any spiciness. It looked like sweet and sour chicken and was mostly all onions.

My son and I ordered two to go meals and they were red pepper chicken, which is usually great… this time it was absolutely SOPPING with oil. It was to the point where I couldn’t even eat it and I threw it away and called the restaurant twice and no one answered. I went on about my day having a little faith in humanity figuring next time I’m downtown I’ll discuss it and I’m sure they’ll take care of me… after all, it’s only a five dollar meal. Boy was I wrong. My son went in while we were shopping on Market Street to get some food and see what could be done about the previous food. For some odd reason, despite him being polite, the person at the counter not only decided he didn’t want to do anything, not even reach an amicable resolution, but was actually pretty condescending and rude, saying that he wasn’t Walmart etc. He obv had little to no integrity and was just a poor excuse for a human being, pushing his buttons etc so my son decided to leave and we will now share our experience. I’m very sure this will cost them a whole lot more than doing the right thing and replacing a five dollar meal. Since he was disrespectful and tried to make us feel like some dirt bags… Good. Corning, we gave them another chance after the big salmonella scare there last year. Never again. There are a lot of other options. Steer clear of this place!
