Wonderful to get to meet the owners who were so sweet and lovely to chat with. Very authentic Peruvian food. Be prepared for a longer wait.

I almost never write reviews, but I felt the need to sponsor this restaurant in some way. The food is delicious and unique. I never had Peruvian food before, and the spices are rich and creamy with more then a hint of tang. I was surprised to find a place with ingredients and culture like this in a town like corning. If you are like me, stuck in this depressing town full of bike trailering tweakers and angry under paid farm hands, this might be an oasis… Condor Marka Peruvian restaurant tastes like it belongs among the big city lights.

Wow… CRAP…after my experience today I can’t believe the five star reviews this restaurant has received. I arrived around 12:30 to an empty restaurant so I walked up to the register and called out«hello» hoping I’d rouse someone. While waiting I picked up a menu to see what was available and check prices. An employee appeared and after a brief exchange I placed an order and was seated. This is when the wait began… after around 30 minutes the waitress came by and said my meal would be out shortly; mind you, I was still the only customer. Another 10 minutes clicked by and finally my food arrived after 40 minutes of entering the restaurant. It was nothing to write home about, a pepper stuffed with tomato sauce based meat mixture with peas and a dollop of rice sitting beside it. By the time the meal had arrived I’d finished my soda, so I proceeded to «shovel it down» as quickly as possible so I could get to work. The waitress brought by a cookie which«came with the meal» about 10 minutes later. Finished, I walked up to the register and once again had to call out to get someone’s attention so I could pay my bill. An individual came out, tallied my bill and said I owed $ 19.65. My jaw dropped. According to the menu I’d scanned prior to ordering, my entrée was listed at $ 11.95, plus I had a soda. I said«that can’t be right, that’s not the amount listed on the menu» and was told in no uncertain terms that the prices had gone up! She proceeded to say that she’d told me this when I was in before. I had never been in before, this is the first time I’d stepped into this establishment. She said she’d adjust the total and charge me the price listed othe menu(of which there was a large stack of at the register with apparently the wrong prices listed.) The adjusted total was $ 6.00 and some change less than what she originally was going to charge me. I will not be back.

It takes them forever to cook the food, I got to say it takes them forever to deliver the drinks, I understand they cook at the moment and everything is fresh, but still be warned their service is one of the slowest I’ve experienced and I do eat out and in several Periuvian places. The taste was very good actually, but the service and price won’t get them more stars from me, I would give it a try again any day I got nothing to do at all.

Food was not incredible but was ok; found it to be pretty expensive for just a basic lunch with no sides. $ 15 for Aji de Gallina; web site said $ 11 but when asked staff said that price had gone up a long time ago but didn’t know how to fix it on the site. Didn’t find it to be a good value for the meal received.

Absolutely delicious and very much worth the wait. The food is amazing and flavorful. The people are really nice. It’s not fast, but that’s certainly not because they’re not working — it just takes time to make good food and everything is made when you order. Definitely get dessert — these were the best alfajores I’ve ever had(and you can get more to take home!). If you find yourself anywhere in the vicinity of Corning or Red Bluff, this is where you should eat!

As a native Peruvian, I can attest to the quality of the food. We had the Lomo Saltado(awesome), the Arroz con Pollo(awesome), and the Lucuma Icecream(absolutely delicious). A little slow in the service, but every was made to order, nothing premade and warmed up. Highly recommended. Oh, and make sure you ask for the hot sauces to spice up your dishes: huacatay, aji amarillo, and rocoto

OMG!!! Even the dessert was a homemade Peruvian delight! We ordered empanadas, causa limenas, jalea de mariscos, and quinoa to die for

Wow. Delish. Made from scratch everything. Found this restaurant on Unilocal and had to try it based on the rave reviews. The food did not disappoint. 4 of us went, it did take an hour for our food, we were the only ones there, but knew it was being made as we chatted over new fruit juices and baked corn. We had green pasta, steak, chicken fried rice, and a variety plate. All great. The fried bananas would be good if saved to eat with ice cream as dessert. My bill was for 2 meals and 2 juices, over $ 40 plus tip, high price for this area, but a fun treat. Kind owner showed us the building he is renovating next door for parties and events, Wow! Gorgeous finishes like nothing else we have here. Going to be great!

EXCELLENT authentic food, and the staff is very friendly. However if you are in a hurry… this is not the place for you, because everything is made once you put in an order. But I would most definitely recommend, and return!

Truly amazing! This is a small place that is easy to miss while driving down the main drag in Corning. And if you miss it you also will miss what is without question the best food available in a city that is unfortunately otherwise a culinary wasteland. They serve delicious, authentic food, made to order with fresh ingredients. The rustic atmosphere and décor complete the experience. It is most definitely not fast food, nor is it terribly inexpensive. But if you understand those things and want to enjoy a great meal with friendly service you will not be disappointed!

Absolutely Delicious! I travel for work and had the opportunity to stop in for some Peruvian food. They did not disappoint. I knew exactly what I wanted when I’m headed over. I went for the Lomo saltado cama the Papas a la huancaina cama and to top it off with some Inca Cola. I also had some Concha corn. This was the best authentic Peruvian food I’ve had in a long time. This place is absolutely great. This place was top-notch you should absolutely stop by for some authentic Peruvian food if you’re in the area. Make sure to try the lemon pie. It is also delicious and a great ending to a fabulous meal.

Food es bueno. Service es no bueno. Service was very very slow. There was four of us and we each got our dish one at a time. The cook in the back was literally cooking one dish at a time.

The most important thing to know about this place is that the people who own/run it are just so nice! I loved the atmosphere and the music playing was a real treat. All our food was delicious, especially the shrimp and calamari appetizer. However, some reviews have mentioned that you should not come here if you’re in a hurry. I cannot stress how important that is. The food is all cooked there from many ingredients they have imported from Peru, everything is fresh and yummy! That however means that it takes a long time to make all the food, my party of 4 was there for 2 hours and we were the only people in there! The food and service are so nice, and I highly recommend it for someone who has the time!

Wow. The food here is fantastic. Healthy, clean and good ingredients. Like having a home cooked meal at a Peruvian family dinner. I had an entire half chicken with rice, two sauces and a salad. She also brought a miniature dessert for no extra charge. Highly recommend the Chicha Morada drink with purple corn, pineapple juice and cinnamon. I was served by the owners a very sweet husband and wife team. Don’t expect great ambiance or table setting — it’s clear they’re on a budget. But the food is the quality of a much more expensive restaurant.

Came to Corning for work and found this place on Unilocal.Ordered over the phone and asked for the beef stew w/rice. He must have misunderstood me because once I got back to my hotel room I discovered it was actually the beef with tomatoes and onion. The dish itself was good. The beef was tender and flavorful. It came with rice and fries. Finished everything but the fries. They’re a sweet couple and gave me a free desert. The place is small but cute. Would come again if I’m ever back this way.

So, I am stuck in this town for a couple of days on a small project. I didn’t want a sandwich or a burger, so I turned to my ever helpful Unilocal… came through big time. Peruvian food in a remote one horse town… hell yeah!!! The older couple running this 7 top little restaurant has their food down for sure! Take my money! I went all out beef empanadas, Tillarin Salado Con Carne, and the crazy purple corn drink… and of course for desert I tried their cocoa powdered cream cake… I talked to old man running the service and he was accomodating, friendly, funny and excited to stretch out his English skills. I am truly excited to recommend this to friends and Unilocal.I cannot wait to come back. Oh yeah by the way, I spoke to the lady doing the cooking in the back all the peppers and seasonings are straight from Peru. I am no expert on Peruvian food, but I can tell you these were flavors I have not tried before and my tongue was doing a happy dance for sure!

I’m Colombian and I know Peruvian food. What this lady is running, is nothing short of a hidden gem. My wife found this place on our way to Mt Lassen and we loved everything. The sudado de pollo was spot on and the drinks were delicious. As a bonus, she makes alfajores which are an Argentinian dessert, and they are INCREDIBLE! They’re home-made and ormasmic. Eat there. The best option for miles!

One of my favorite spots to eat. We make the hour long trip from shasta lake almost weekly. If not every other since we found it. My girlfriend is Peruvian so she wanted to see where the nearest Peruvian restaurant was. Since there is none is in redding or shasta lake we have to make our way to Corning to get our fix. Seco de Cordero is the dish I usually get and love it. Tamales are good. The corn they serve as an appetizer is one of my favorites. Alfajores are bomb! We usually get one for there and two to go. If you are in a rush I would maybe not recommend this place, but you have to understand they are banging out dishes that would normally take hours to make.
