The Main Scoop

We have always had great experiences on every visit! The owners could not be nicer, the ice cream is great, and the shop is the cutest! Best place in town, we’ll be life long customers!

It was just a little sign that caught our eye, Main Scoop, with an arrow pointing north. On a beautiful, warm Spring day, it was a welcome invitation.
Downtown Cornell is comprised of many great old buildings, including this one. It’s less than a block away from the Old Abe Recreational trail and just up the hill from the Cornell Mill Park with its famous pulp wood stacker,
The Main Scoop features Cedar Crest Ice Cream with several of their well-​known flavores. A step stool offers young clients a way to see into the freezer. Have a cone or a dish of very generous portions.
There is limited seating inside beneath a wonderful mural of the popular bike trail, showing Cornell, the historic Cobban bridge, and Jim Falls, home of Old Abe, the war eagle. If the weather is nice, enjoy the patio in the sun or in the shade of a pergola, and enjoy the flower gardens.
Main Scoop offers a great break from the bike trail or for highway tourists.

This is the best ice cream shop in town. The staff is super friendly and they give you tons of ice cream in a cone!
