Um, this place is a true hidden gem! Everything was absolutely incredible and so filling! Almost too filling! Next time I may have to share a little more ;). The staff was awesome. Ethiopian is fairly new to me and they were great about helping me decide on a dish. The spices were on point. I seriously can’t wait to go back!

Good Ethiopian food and friendly staff. The portion sizes are also pretty large. The only reason that I gave it a 4 star is because on 2 separate occasions, the restaurant was closed temporarily during normal business hours with a handwritten paper sign on the door saying that they’ll be back in an hour. What is an hour when the time left isn’t stated? Very frustrating when I drive 20 minutes just to go there.

Hospitality was great(felt like a guest at their home) and the vegetarian combo platter was delicious! And they have a lunch buffet on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11 – 2 for only $ 7.99.

I’ve never had such delicious food before! I HIGHLY recommend the Kay Watt– it’s so good when you put it in your mouth you almost regret swallowing it because each bite has a new note of flavor to add that you can’t help but want to savor. The atmosphere here is unique in its form and fashion in a way only this Ethiopian restaurant could offer, and to be honest it went above my expectations– who expects such a beautiful restaurant in a shopping center?! But it is, and the people working there are bright and beautiful in their own right. Beautiful food, place, and people. What more could you want in a restaurant?

I adore everything about this place. The food, the coffee and mostly the staff. I have been here at least 5 times and I will continue to return. This will be my 1st place to go back to when I return to Memphis.

Delicious Ethiopian food at its best. Tried the doro watt and lamb tibs. Both were amazing. Coming back soon

I guess I went on an off day, according to the other reviews. I went at lunch with a friend, and while the service was fairly good, it was very, very slow. That’s not usually a problem for me, but since I was on lunch break, it took longer than I had anticipated. We were not asked if our check was together or separate, and it took about 15 – 20 minutes for them to ring us up separately, and then I was slightly overcharged(which I did not mention because I was in a hurry to get back to work). The food was pretty good, and the vegetable sides were excellent. Unfortunately, both my friend and I got very sick later that day. I’m sure I will revisit the restaurant, but on a day when I have more time.

Went with a group of girlfriends tonight and tried several dishes. The food was very flavorful! The prices are very reasonable with nice-sized portions. The couple who own the restaurant were very nice and accommodating. Our favorites were the red lentils and beef in the Berbere sauce which is like a red curry, as well as the tibbs. The night was topped off with the coffee ceremony where we watched fresh coffee beans being roasted as incense burned. The coffee was smooth with the perfect amount and taste. It was only $ 7 for the ‘ceremony!’ Great authentic experience, a must try, and a great addition to the Cordova area!

Great home-cooked Ethiopian food. Bread is the best in Memphis. Vegetarian combo is a lot of great tasting food.

The food is excellent. I have been to Ethiopian restaurants in Atlanta, Tampa, Nashville, and Los Angeles, and this was right up there with some of the best of those places. The service is not fast but the restaurant is new and may take some time to work out those issues. I tried the Key Seer Salad(beet and potato) and it was good. Then I got the Meat Combination(a variety of beef and chicken wats) and all of it was wonderful. My bill was only $ 16 or so with a soda and I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

It gives me great pleasure to post the first review of this hidden gem of a restaurant. Modest, simple and unpretentious, But the food will blow your mind. Herri(not sure if I’ve spelt her name right) is warm and welcoming. She is the maître’d, the waitress and the chef! They’re new and still finding their feet so do not expect super fast service. Even the menu could use some work; it doesn’t explain that each entrée comes with 2 sides and all the injera or rice you’d like. We had the tilapia and the lamb with greens, cabbage, green beans &carrots and red lentils served in the traditional Ethiopian style. It was all delicious and the portions are huge. Two of us could only finish about half. We took home enough for another meal. All for the princely sum of $ 24!!! I’m no stranger to Ethiopian food. Abyssinia on Poplar is good. The other place near Malco Cordova that is now closed was terrible but this place is simply the best. Ya’ll better get out there and support them! Apparently they do a buffet on Saturdays. That might be a good way to sample the fare if you’re new to it.
