This was the most beautiful hike I have ever done and probably will ever do. I was so lucky to have been able to see this beautiful place on such a perfect day. It had been sprinkling which actually made for beautiful pictures. I suggest this to everyone.

I love the hikes in Oregon, something about walking up a steep side of the mountain and being rewarded with such beautiful views of such great waterfalls is so worth it! This is my 3rd time hiking in this area… and I can’t wait to continue on with all the hikes and trails destinations!

I know there are reviews for the Wahkeena Falls to Multnomah Falls Loop, but there isn’t one for the reverse. I love this hike for its beauty and how it makes me feel like I’m in the woods despite the fact that only a few miles away there are crowds of people and parking lots of cars with others trying to find a parking spot. If you want something more challenging than walking on a paved road to be closer to Multnomah Falls, then I recommend this. If you want to be away from the bunches of people posing with the Falls, if you want to smell the fresh leaves, hear and see the roaring waterfalls, and be close enough to them to feel the mist, then you need to go on this hike. The Multnomah Falls Loop is approximately 5 miles. There is a picture of the trail at the trailhead. I suggest that you take a picture of it so you’ll have a map to help you navigate when on the trail. When you first start, you’ll be surrounded by people who are only going to the waterfall. To get to the fall, you’ll walk up 11 switchbacks to the overlook. Instead of going back, continue on the trail, which you’ll notice, is a lot less crowded. The trail is wet, so please be mindful because of the slick rocks. There will be more switchbacks on the trail and it’s a continuous gradual incline until you reach the gorge. Along the trail, you’ll see many waterfalls, so have your camera ready. The hike is shady and picturesque. The trail ends with Wahkeena Falls and then it’s a short walk on a paved road back to the Multnomah Falls trail where you can treat yourself to some sweets or real food after the hike. Be sure to arrive at the parking lot early, as it fills up quickly. We arrived before 9 and was able to snag a great parking spot. We left around 3 and there was a long line of cars coming in. Also, if you arrive early, then you’ll have a better chance of taking pictures of the falls people free. Happy hiking and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
