Great food. Great service. Same selections at HyVee are horrible and overpriced.

It’s okay and reasonably priced. I’ve only ever done take-out here, so I can’t speak to the dine-in experience. I’ve always felt the Chinese food in the I.C. area was particularly bad of all of the places I’ve lived and thought this place was average amongst its peers. I honestly think you’re better off going next door and getting the take-out Chinese from HyVee.

Decent food and good service. Its a small take out shop in a college town, nothing more, other than that it’s one of the best in the Iowa City/Cedar Rpaids area for convenience and quality. The food is prepared to order and fairly quickly.

The crab rangoon was pretty good. Otherwise, just okay take-out. Can’t decide whether it is better or worse than the Chinese at the Hy-Vee next door.

Another American Chinese food place, the difference between this one and the one in downtown is that one has no beef noodle.

This used to be one of two go-to Asian restaurants that I used – but since trying Best China, I have not been back. They have good brocolli chicken, mongolian beef, and lo mein. But Best China is better. I agree with another reviewer that it is consistent, which is a good thing.

Best Chinese food in area, especially Hot & Sour Soup.

I agree that it’s not good Chinese food but it is reliable. Pick and choose the right dishes and you can have a decent meal, albeit not very authentic Chinese. Two best items on the menu are hot & sour soup and dumplings. Made fresh when you order, hot & sour soup has all the good stuff. Dumplings, steamed and fried are homemade and is plump and delicious. Decent lo-meins. Most of the dishes taste similar with ubiquitous broccoli and sometimes carrots. I also like their tofu dishes.

another review of an ethnic restaurant in Iowa that gets my 3 star just because a real authentic one is so far away(or perhaps hard to find). the staff here are asian, but they must’ve been here for a while since the food is getting further away from what real Chinese food should taste like. however… for about $ 8, you can get a generous portion of food. i’ve only tried take out so this review is not for dine-in. i wish that the servings were less and their price adjusted with it. In LA, for $ 6, you can get the same amount for much better food, but this is not bad. I think they should put less salt in their food(same comment goes to most Iowa City/Coralville restaurants). its located right next to the Hyvee Liquor store and isn’t a place that you’d go for a dining experience.
