Terrible customer service. At all the other furniture stores we went to, people welcomed us into the store, asked if we had any questions, and periodically came to us to make sure we didn’t have more questions. At McGregors, we had a hard time finding employees walking around to ask questions to. They were always congregated in groups talking to each other and never bothered to turn to us when we walked by them. We had to walk up to the front to the desk where other employees were sitting around talking to the front desk person. When we asked them questions, they stayed seated too. Finally when they had someone help us, we walked over to the couches together to ask a few more questions. They sat on their couch while we stood talking to them. And immediately after answering our question, got up to leave. So 30 seconds later when we had our next question, we had to walk all the way back to the front desk to find someone to ask our questions. Overall, all the employees seemed extremely unprofessional. Upon leaving, one of the sales people caught up to us to give us her business card. But even during the 2 seconds while she was handing us the business card, she was busy talking to and facing another employee. We actually really liked one of the couches there and really wanted to purchase it, but ended up putting the couch lower on our list because we didn’t want to support this business after being treated like that. We re-visited this place to look at multiple couches at least 3 or 4 times and had the exact same treatment every time.

At first impression, there was a better selection of modern and unique furniture options than what I’ve found at a couple other furniture stores in the area. After walking around more, I started to notice that the place was really unkempt. Cushions were half-pulled from chairs, comforters on the display beds were in a pile on the floor. It looked like a serious PJ party had gone down the night before, to which I say… why in the heck wasn’t I invited?!

This was another bad furniture shopping experience in the area. The salesman followed me around the whole time. Most of the stuff was pretty dated looking.(Who furnishes their house with all this 80’s style crap? It’s not attractive at all.). Anyways, I did want to get a quote on a custom dining table. But after following me around for an hr, the salesman never got back to me. Frustrated, but I didn’t like it enough to go to the trouble of going back in.

McGregor’s is a huge furniture store that has just about anything you’re looking for. The showroom floor is huge and they have everything from mid range furniture to high end stuff. The selection is as good as any large furniture store and they’ve got very helpful staff that are happy to follow you around like a lonely puppy. The variety of styles is good. Pricing was middle of the road — a little more than we were looking to spend, but not unreasonable. Good amount of tables, chairs, sofas, etc. Worth a stop by if you’re looking for something specific and need to outfit rooms in your house, but if you’re not picky, might try craigslist first!
