I have come to Kain Family Eye Care for several years now(maybe three years?). I have always gotten an appointment very quickly, and the staff was great. I also really appreciate that they don’t need to chemically dilate my eyes. One time I went in and the contact prescription wasn’t quite right, but I went back in(again getting in very quickly), and the prescription was adjusted and was great. I have gone to another eye care store in the mall and had a really, truly horrible experience.

Super nice people, and it’s convenient that they have extended business hours, but that’s where the good points end. I went here to establish care and get a new prescription for contact lenses(I wasn’t having any trouble seeing with my old prescription, but it had expired and I needed more contacts). They did my eye exam, including the«digital version» of dilating my eyes to check out the interiors, then ordered two pairs of contact lenses so I could try them out and see which one I liked better. When the trial lenses came in, I tried one pair for one day and they were super blurry. I tried the others the next day, thinking that the first pair were just not the right manufacturer, etc., and I found the second ones to be just as blurry — almost unwearable… I called back in, got another appointment, and explained the problem. This time another optometrist tested my vision and found a completely different prescription, closer to my original one. She tried to excuse the first optometrist, saying that«sometimes astigmatism is tricky», but the original optometrist is also the owner, and I’ve never had anyone have a difficult time finding my prescription before… I got my third pair of trial lenses and they are not right either. Once again, I’ve got blurry vision and headaches. I called them back the next day and told them that I’m still having problems and I’d like them to order a trial pair of lenses that are the exact same prescription as my old ones. I have a feeling that that will resolve the issue, which basically means that this office has done nothing except supply the«O.D.» for a new prescription that’s just a copy of the work of another optometrist. Like I said, the people who work here are very nice, but it’s hard to recommend an optometrist if they can’t seem to figure out your prescription.
