It had been 2 years since I had an eye exam, so it was time to check my vision/prescription. I was referred to Dr. Garraton by a friend who said she is great. Her office is located within Vision Unlimited, located in the Heron Bay Shoppes. I walked-in without an appointment and surprisingly, she took me right away. The exam was thorough and professional and Dr. Garraton was very friendly, great experience. After the exam, it was determined that I needed a new prescription, so it was time to look for new frames. Fortunately, there is a great selection of frames and the staff(Maria) was very patient and helpful! They take a lot of insurance plans and fortunately took mine(Humana), so I was able to get a discount on the eye exam and frames. Walked out with a new prescription and purchased two new frames in about 1 ½(frames/lenses were ready in 2 days)…great experience, thanks!

So pretty much I’m blind as a bat without my eyeglasses and contact lenses. And my prescription expires every year. From the past few years I have been going to Vision Unlimited. Dr. Garraton is the optometrist there from the past two-three years and she is great doctor, and hears a customer out and figures out what works for the patient. I’ve been wearing the same brand of contact lenses for awhile in clear and colored lenses. But that company stopped making colored lenses and she helped me try a different brand and see how it went. I do not usually get my contact lenses and eyeglasses from them because their prices are ridiculously high but if your insurance covers contact lenses or eyeglasses then go check it out! Last time they gave me the appointment for the same day because I was in a time limitation before my vacation. They also got my contact lenses prescription shipped to their store by next day. They are the best place to go in Coral Springs/Parkland for your vision needs. Great place to get your eye exam. ~

Dr. Garraton is great, she noticed that I had an enlarged optic nerve which is a warning sign for glaucoma. On Dr. Garraton’s advice I went to the Rand Eye institute where they did a full battery of tests on my eyes and found that I had a torn retina as well. I will need to go back for annual testing which sucks, but had I not seen Dr. Garraton it is possible that I would have never found out about this and ended up potentially losing my vision. If you are in the Parkland, Coral Springs, or Greater Ft. Lauderdale area I highly recommend you visit her.
