Pier 1 Imports

I love everything about Pier one! I find almost everything to be georgus and very unique. Only thing is thatI wish I could go shopping there with a bag filled to the rim with money. lol (well dont we all?) Although, I do find georgus items there they are pricey. I will most likely fall in love with an item but when I look at the price tag I will most proberly fall out of love. Why oh why cant Pier one pricing be similar to homegoods prices?

So many things to see, so many things to touch, so many colors all around. I am a sucker for the stop stores I love to look around and see what’s new. Pier 1 imports it’s a step up from Homegoods, things are little bit more expensive but they do seem to be of better quality. The store itself it’s a little bit overstuffed with things and aisles are very narrow. You can’t maneuver a cart and have to leave it at the bigger aisles. Overall though, it’s an excellent little shop for all your decorating needs.

Unfortunately I am a fan of Pier 1 Imports, I say unfortunately because I really can’t afford to be a fan. I love the store, it smells nice, and the décor they sell is lovely. The way the store is arranged I often walk through and get a few decorating ideas from their displays.
This past weekend, after much debate, I decided to purchase I piece of wall art from Pier 1. I had been admiring it both online and in store for weeks, but thought it was just a little expensive (it’s a unique piece, what if I hate it in a year or two?). I signed up for their email list and received a 10% off your entire purchase coupon so I figured now was as good a time as any. I decided to admire the piece online one more time before I made my final decision and found it was on clearance. The clearance price was definitely more reasonable, but I still wanted to use the coupon and feared it would not apply to clearance items, so I went through the website’s online checkout to see. and it applied! I certainly wasn’t going to pay the shipping for the item since there is a Pier 1 ten minutes from my home, and I was delighted that I could select in store pickup for that day. Within an hour or so of placing the order I had received email confirmation from the store that the order was ready and I headed over. Approaching the cashier she knew immediately how to handle my online pickup transaction and I was in and out very quickly with my wall art for about half the price it had been when I initially fell in love with it (though I still feel a little guilty about it).
Now I drop a star because even though I love the store and the staff was helpful their prices are a bit high. If you’re willing to look and forego the luxurious displays you can find similar items at discount home goods stores for half the price. However, Pier 1 does have clearance and sales that bring things down to more reasonable prices. When I was there a couple happened to find a perfect patio umbrella they had been searching for that was clearance for only $ 70, but they did find that they could get a better deal on the stand elsewhere.
If you need ideas for home décor and just want to look at pretty things Pier 1 is definitely a good stop, and if money is not a concern you could definitely decorate your whole house here. Even if I were a millionaire though there is still a bargain shopper in me, so I doubt I will ever buy anything the first time I see it at Pier 1.

As a guy, I am probably not supposed to do reviews of places like this. But Pier 1 is actually a colorful and interesting place to discover home decorating «stuff». We have moved across the country and sold most of our household items before ending up here. Here, there appears to be an affordable solution to adding color and a festive feel to our home. One has to be selective, of course. My perception of the values is good to fair… somethings seem a little more expensive than my eye can account for. And there are some good buys, too. But if you want to add color, you do have to check this place out.

I love going to this store. It smells good, it’s bright and colorful, and you can find all sorts of cool stuff. If you’re looking for anything in the way of home décor, check it out. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there are some great deals to be had.
