I have been going to Eric over the past 5 years for everything from oil changes, tire repair and replacement, leaks, battery replacement, etc. He has always been willing to squeeze me in at the last minute, communicated problems clearly, provided multiple options and most of all… never took advantage.
Good example, I took my car to another repair place when I first moved to S. FL for a slow leak in my tire and they told me that the tire needed to be replaced. Based on a recommendation from my neighbor, I took my car to Eric to Northbrook and after 10 minutes looking at the tire, he told me that my tire was fine, I just needed a patch for $ 15.00 vs. $ 150 for new tire.

I just brought my car in because my a.c. wasn’t working. They had originally quoted me $ 1800 for everything, including labor. I wasn’t thrilled, needless to say. However, Eric called me back the next day and told me it was going to be $ 800 less! How many car shops would do that?
They are very pleasant and you can tell the people who work there really enjoy eachother’s company.

Eric is the best. We’ve been using him for 10 years. My husband is so loyal to Northbrook that he won’t take our car anywhere else, even for an oil change. He is always completely honest about whether we genuinely need work or not. Invaluable to have a reliable and knowledgeable mechanic.

Took my Toyota in for brake work — Eric was my advisor, who took down my information. Dropped my vehicle off with Eric at 830 am and he called me less than an hour (9:19 am) to let me know what was going on with my brakes. Eric followed up with a second call at 9:51 am, since I did not answer — I was in a meeting and had my phone turned off. Eric explained clearly what was going on with my car. Northbrook checked my front and rear brakes — resurfaced my rotors and installed new pads on the front. I sent some friends over to pick up my car at 2:28 pm. Only reason for four stars vice five is I run Mobil 1 in my vehicle and Eric only uses Citgo Full Synthetic oil. I was not upsold on unnecessary repairs or «suggested repairs.» I expected to hear that I needed new wheel locks — and heard no issues. Eric greeted me immediately upon entry into the shop. The waiting room was clean and there were two other customers waiting for their cars. I did notice other work orders on the counter — so I did not expect my vehicle to be completed until closing time. I will use this shop again for other work. Thank you for helping me drive safely!
