Gunther Volkswagen of Coconut Creek Service

This is a review of Gunther’s service department. I brought in my car for its 20K mile service appointment which included a tire rotation… easy enough. When I got there I wasn’t even greeted and just stood around waiting for someone. I finally had to knock on a service manager’s window to ask. He rudely told me to wait by my car until someone comes around. Another five minutes and finally I get a service manager to handle my appointment.
It should be noted one of my front wheels has a distinctive scuff mark on it. If my tires were rotated that would mean that wheel should be on the back when I picked up the car. However, it was still on the front when I received my car. Even when confronted and showed them a photo before I dropped off the car, they still insisted they rotated them.
After multiple instances like this with service departments, it’s really hard to trust them. I suggest everyone marks items like filters and wheels to ensure they’re serviced properly. This was supposed to be a routine service, but from start to finish this was a disappointing experience with Gunther Volkswagen.

I recently purchased a used GTI from gunther in Coconut Creek. After having the car for 5 months (roughly 8,000 miles) I went to do regular maintenance. (oil change, air filter, rotate tires, etc.) When i pulled my back tires off there was metal showing in the tire. The tire was «cupping» something that is caused by the car not being aligned properly but could not be seen unless you were under the car. I called the sales person who sold me the car and he offered to talk to the service manager to try and work something out. I get a call the next day, and the best they could do for me was sell me tires at their cost. «Their cost» for tires were extremely expensive and thats all they would offer to do for me. While contemplating the option given to me, another sales person had entered the room and began arguing with the person I was on the phone with. I get a «sorry, I have to go» and the sales rep hangs up on me! I couldn’t believe it. So now after i recently purchasing a vehicle I have to shell out the cost of 4 new tires and an alignment so my car is safe to drive. THANK YOU VW COCONUT CREEK! I would never recommend ANYONE buy a car from this place. Once they have your money they won’t be held accountable for anything.

While traveling, I got a nail in my tire. Service department was professional and comfortable while they fixed my tire.

had the worst experience @ Gunther today. I’ve been bringing my cars to them for oil change for a few years now and never had a problem till today. Outside of their lack of organization and bad expediting of their customers never did I think I would receive the treatment I did today. I brought my GTI in for an oil change as it was the 4^th oil change that would qualify me for a 5^th oil change for free otherwise I would have gone to Rogers Auto repair. I have a set of $ 3500 worth wheels on my car and specifically told the service guy to be careful and do not run my car through the carwash as the tracks would damage my wheels. I pick up the car later after waiting two hours for the shuttle service to pick me up. Service advisor tells me the technicians found a hairline crack on my wheels. My blood pressure rose I thought I was gonna lose it. I argued my wheels where in pristine condition and nothing should be wrong with them. I left there pondering the though could my wheel have been damaged and I didn’t know about it? The wheel never lost air so maybe that could be the case until I drove to work. There was a hop on the rear right same wheel that’s cracked. I called Gunther and told service advisor the crack must have happened there. He refused to accept responsibility and basically asked not to go there with that as the crack did not happen there. I called the service manager and was basically told I was lying. They refused to take responsibility for their actions and I cannot prove they did it other than a car that was in perfect shape when I brought it in. Now I have a set of $ 3500 wheels with a crack in one barrel and a fix Ill have to pay out of pocket. BEWARE! I am an honest customer that has put a lot of love and $$$ into my car for these monkeys to come and destroy that. Hopefully I can get this wheel fixed otherwise I will put a suit into them to pay for my wheels. Im livid

I have only used this dealership’s service department and I’ve been quite satisfied. The waiting room is quite comfy and there are enough plugs to keep a laptop or phone charged while waiting.
They’ve repaired stuff as well as maintained my car a few times and they’ve always done a good job. I trust them.

Time for a new car… Not sure what to get. Should I change and see how it goes with the Altima Coupe or stay with the reliable service I’ve had from VW for the past 5 years. Tough choice, at least for me, the Altima is cute but, after test driving both cars, talking to the salesmen, and hearing their offers, I had to stay with VW, and here is why…
If you’re ever at this location, and looking for a car, ask for Darroll Carter, this is the salesperson we who helped me (and my sisters in before me). He is very attentive, patient, understanding. He’ll work hard to get the price you need, and the car you want. On top of that he is genuinely happy when you are too with your purchase. You get from him personal attention and an honest deal.
Of course having the VW service package influenced my decision of getting my new car here (the best service dept. as I’ve mentioned before) but, it was Darroll Carter’s assistance and great customer service which made me finally decide on it.
As for the Altima being cute, that was completely forgotten, my car is very nice/​elegant looking with cool features, and for less.
I am happy with my new car and highly recommend Gunther for your future buy/​lease.
