A year or so ago, I wanted to start my nine-year-old in piano lessons. I never got around to it until about a couple of months ago when I started looking again. I found this business through a web search for piano lessons. The credentials of the teachers were pretty good, so I figured we would go check the place out. I had no intentions of sticking with the school. I actually wanted to check out the other schools in the area first. We stopped by to take a lesson, which is not free, but I decided that it wouldn’t be a waste, since he would be able to see how he liked it anyway. He loved it and we’ve been going once a week since. The teacher(Megan) is incredibly patient and kind. She’s extremely encouraging and positive. She does a much better job of teaching him how to play piano than I do. I had that same problem growing up. I was able to learn better from someone other than my stepfather. He’s learned so much in this short period of time. This is a small, family-owned music school. They offer music and voice lessons for beginners to advanced. It’s family-friendly and even adults can take lessons. They have LOTS of vinyl records for sale. There is a small selection of music books and various used books for leisurely reading. I love used books. I’ve already purchased at least twenty from here. They also sell used musical instruments, along with various tools and pieces(like reeds or picks) you may need for your instrument. They also have a session for the rock band class, which is every three to four months, but that’s for ages 12 – 17. My children are not old enough to participate yet. They’re incredibly flexible with scheduling. For example, if you are not going to be in town for your next lesson, just set up a make-up date. It’s courteous to give them advance notice. Things happen, but not all the time. They will absolutely work with you if you give them enough notice. Payment is due at the beginning of the month. Cash, check, or money orders are accepted. They do not accept credit or debit cards. It’s located on the south side of Wiles Rd, just west of Coral Springs Dr. Actually, if you’re coming from the east, as you pass the light, it’s the third left turn. Parking is a little tight and it floods towards the exit. If it’s pouring out, expect the flood to be there. Otherwise, I haven’t any complaints about this music school. I think it’s phenomenal and worth the drive from Boca every week.
