Absolutely horrendous experience here. Found the shop through Google, and took my watch in for a repair — thank god I didn’t take in one of my more expensive watches. I had a cracked crystal with my watch still ticking away fine under the crystal, so I took it in for a crystal repair. Paid $ 55 for a new crystal; watch wasn’t ticking anymore. Mind you, this is only a $ 150 watch, so $ 55 is already a questionable investment. They said to just charge it up(it’s an Eco drive) and it would be fine. Five days later, still not running. Brought it back in and was told I’d get a call that day. No call. Called the next day, same thing. Waited three more days, no call. Went in to the store and got the whole speech about how experienced the watchmaker was, etc, etc but no repair still. Was told he needed a few more days. No call again, showed up at the shop and was told that it needed to be sent in to Citizen but that there would be no cost to me. No call after three weeks(surprise, no one had ever called me!) and I called in to check. This time, Joan, who was actually helpful, apologized and said she would check with Citizen. She called me the next day and told me that Citizen said that some of the crystal had gotten in to the movement and that’s why it wasn’t running. The cost of the repair would be $ 120. Just to recap: the watch can be purchased new for $ 149 and I had already invested $ 55 in it. I was told the repair from Citizen would be free, however now it would be $ 120. That’s a total of $ 175 in repair for a $ 149 watch. Most importantly, on top of not once receiving a call before I was told about the exorbitant cost, the watch was working below the broken crystal before they«repaired» this watch. It has been over two months since I dropped the watch off and no one has called me since I was told about the repair cost. So, I don’t expect to ever get my watch back. They basically turned it in to an expensive paperweight that I don’t even get back. BEAWARE: no one at this shop is a certified watchmaker(you can always check through the AWCI website). You’re much better off taking your watch to a certified watchmaker, where their credibility and certification are at stake if they don’t know how to do a repair. They have beautiful watches there, but I would never drop the money for a Milgauss or Black Bay from a place that doesn’t know how to do basic repairs.

I needed a new band for an older Movado and decided to give Antonio Jewelers a try. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by everyone – something I’ve only ever experienced while shopping in Japan. Since the band for my Movado was discontinued, I was forced to purchase a third-party brand as a replacement. The price was fair and the service was prompt. If you’re looking to buy a new Rolex or Movado, stop by and ask to speak to «Joan the Jeweler».(No one actually calls her that; I just made it up. Anyway…) She’s a really nice lady who really knows her stuff.
